the headset is good but i want to use it with my ipod, the problem is the sound isn't clear when i use it with an ipod. why is this so? is SE made it exclusive for SE phones only?

i had same problem with my ipod but with nokia headset and i figured out problem was ipod 3.5mm port .
if you see a 3.5mm headset jacket you see 3 black line and for some reason ipod has problem with some headset jacks .
but headphones has 2 black line in 3.5mm jacks and ipod havn't problem with them .
the problem has been discussed here before. SE reversed mic and ground connection.
you can hold the mic button down to hear it proper. yeah the headset seems to work with SE phones only.
There is an adapter you can use which will allow this to work. Sometimes it is provided with the Xperia Play and is called the EC250 headset adapter.
THis is intended for you to use non sony ericsson headsets with your phone however this works on my ipod touch so i can use my LiveSound headset.

Hope this helps.

sorry to bump an old thread but i just got a sony xperia s and my in car adaptor wont work through my stereo so i need the ec250 adaptor but cant find one anywhere any help?
I'm also trying to get ahold of one of these EC250 adapters. I have an Xperia Play and just bought a nice Klipsch S4A headset and it won't work without the adapter. Dang you Sony Ericsson making headsets proprietary.

I'm looking for one to. I bought an HTC OEM Beats Audio headset off eBay for my Wildfire S not long before I got my Arc S, & for how much the headset cost me I'd like to be able to use it with my Arc S, & eBay don't have them.

The white headset that comes with the X8 has poor Audio compared to the one that comes with the Arc S. SE use a proprietary wiring setup that means that only SE Headsets can be used with SE Handsets, & I assume it works the other way round due to the proprietary wiring setup.

So... I got my note yesterday.. Updated to 4.0.3 rooted it etc...
Just listening to some music on the walk to work... I must say the supplied white hands free headphones are surprisingly good, any one else agree?

I use pretty high end etymotic and klipsch in-ear-monitors, and once you try those, you can't go back to cheap earphones. Everyone's different though.
Ive always liked Samsung stock headphones. I like the way they fit in my ear, I know they are not as good as some expensive ones but combined with voodoo sound and a nice equalizer they're pretty impressive.
That being said, I use my beats headphones all the time now, They where free with my HTC.
The Stock one is good. But I also have the free sennheiser px100ii with galaxy note.Feels like heaven while listening music with it .

Zomb
Awesome. I did have a cheap pair of beats knock offs.. They weren't bad either.

It's good but there are better one's out there. Well the stock earphones are good enough for me.
It's pretty nice.
Though I can't hear the sound around me.
And that's a problem.

Ah see, I preferred the not hearing sound around me as in the area I'm from it's full of idiots and small cars with loud exhaust pipes. Tends to get annoying when spending nearly an hour walking to work.

Does any one know of superior sounding ear buds that also include a Note compatible volume control and button? Most of the higher end models are designed for IOS devices and the controls don't work with the Note.

i also think the stock earphones are pretty good. but for extreme music lovers i think there are much better alternatives

To be honest i've found the stock headphones fine until I flashed a new ROM with Beats Audio installed. Just can handle the bass now.
They are not bad for the price which is free. I also have a pair of klipsch android version which for the price are amazing, I also have a pair of beats tour which are ok a bit to much base but sounds good with awesome beats equalizer. Now my go to head set is the Bowers & Wilkins p5's they are simply amazing.
The stock Note headphones are on the cheap side and that shows on the audio quality. I use some old in-ear dual drive Panasonic headphones and the difference is huge. The next step for me is the Martin Logan Mikros 70.
not sure...till now its still in the box.
i think their the normal ones samsung supplies cos i got similar ones with my gs2 also
They are o.k for a standard set. - But the quality of the earphones are not as good as in the past. Still have a couple of earphones from my samsung omnia, and they go much louder than these delivered with the note.
But if you want to use them for high end music they are quite rubbish I think
After some good usage out of them I've realised they're not as great as I originally made out... Still good for free and will be ample until I can get a decent set.

I'm looking to replace the stock headset that comes with the galaxy s2 because it is In Ear which is not comfortable for me so I am looking for regular earbuds something similar to these

But with a microphone/volumecontrol/
Price range $20-$50
I'm actually using Bose MIE2i it has volume controls and a mic. and it doesnt go all the way in your ears, it's supported through the earlobe.
http://www.bose.com/controller?url=.../audio_headphones/in_ear_headphones/index.jsp
It's a little bit expensive tho (roughly 2.3x of your budget)

Ditto!! I tried using the standard earphones that come with the galaxy note and couldn't stick them as far too uncomfortable for me. I just use my over-ear clip type for listening to podcasts (without microphone capability obviously).
Hi all,
I just would like some advice. The original headset that came with the phone is good but doesn't last long. Anyone has another good headset that works with s3 that has the same functions of the original.

Maybe a stereo bluetooth earbuds meet your need, but the music time is also 3-4 hours.
All the mini bluetooth headset for phone working time is 3 hours or less.:angel:
If your money is enough take a Jaybird http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Freedom-Bluetooth-Earbuds-Fit-Bluetooth/dp/B005B28DOM/ 80.77 6 hours music time
Thanks for the information you provided. I really did love the original ear Buds I got from Samsung s3. I don't trust Bluetooth(personal issues with headaches). I'd rather something similar to the original headset.

I dont see what personal issues with headaches have to do with bluetooth headphones... that sounds like u need a doctor... not new headphones.
I gotta say the bass that can be achieved feom the stock stereo ear buds is amazing.

You should probably look at this http://emfblues.com/bluetooth-radiation/,
Has anyone else noticed the sound through headset or bluetooth is very quiet. Anyway to boost it?

BT sound is quite ok for me, Speaker sound could be a bit louder, yes. Perhaps the soundboost-mod for Xperia Z could work on the Z1C too? As it also runs on a qualcomm-chip, the chances are pretty good.

Yes, I'm currently using mine with the Jabra Clipper bluetooth transmitter, but I have to almost max the volume on it and on the phone as well to get my normal volume.
Quite weird.
Headphone output is subjectively good. Significantly better than that of the Tablet Z anyway.
It's able to drive my Beyerdynamic DT150 (250 ohm) headphones at above listening volume without any notable hiss or distortion, though they're of course bass anaemic due to the lack of a proper headphone amp.
I suspect 'normal' impedance headphones will be driven at very good quality.
The loudspeaker is mediocre overall. It's about as good as the i9000 with voodoo sound speaker hacks on, so not terrible, but it's certainly no HTC One
i find the sound quality through my sound magic E10's very good but yes i agree the volume is very low, almost as if its finding them to hard to drive. Ive not tried the supplied headphones yet to compare and see if the quality of phones makes the difference.
The supplied IEMs are actually brilliant compared to what phone manufacturers usually provide, easily £30 worth of sound quality
Is the bluetooth which is the worst of the lot. Really low and flat
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Coming from the lg g2 this is a huge bump in audio volume in every way. BT, loudspeaker, headphones are all exceptionally louder. The HTC one still has it beat for loudspeaker and headphones though.
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I asked sony centre about the sound as well and emailed support. The guys in the shop told me that they do it purposely to sell sent blue tooth stuff.
Support told me that I had to update my device. I told them it's on the latest. So they told me it's the apps fault. Told them to stick there half arsed device and returned it.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The sound effect settings are something that Sony has baked in to Android so it's sort of obvious these settings only work with apps that support them.
For me the default sound isn't as good with my £35 Sennheiser's as my S3 was, however the earbuds that came out of the Z1c box are pretty amazing with punchy bass using Google Play Music.
