Hello, I'm trying to root my kindle fire 6.3.1 . I've got the drivers install and the device is recognized as adb online while in the newest version of the kindle fire utility. When I proceed to install the permanent root the utility attempts to download TWRP about 11 times and then just gives up. So basically I'm stuck at that step. Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Where'd you get your instructions from and what version of the utility are you using?
I'm getting the same problem using v0.9.6, the site listed for downloading the file no longer seems to exist, I can't seem to find this version anywhere, there is a newer version but it does not work with KFU because the MD5 doesn't match.
How long have you been try now I wonder if its not just a server issue or error
---------- Post added at 04:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:09 PM ----------
Just a sec I will dry run it see if I have the same issue....
Used this site for instructions

I've been trying all day today, the entire site that hosts the file appears to be down. I have been trying some different things editing the files.log and run.bat, but I cant seem to get the newer version of twrp working with it, it keeps giving an MD5 error.
when I dry ran it it worked fine so the problem is just yours everything here works fine...

Thanks for the files, I took your twrp.img file and put it in my folder and everything worked, hopefully the download site will come back up soon so other people don't have this problem.
Oh and make a backup after twrp and fff are installed that you will later rename noroot631 before flashing roms wipe everything except your SD card factory reset. ,cache, dalvik, system, flash rom zip flash gapps zip reboot and enjoy ...
thanks for the files. after your dry run reply i thought i'd try one more time before downloading the files and got the same thing. except now i'm stuck in fast boot mode. i restarted the KFU to activate normal boot but now it is just hanging and "waiting for the device"
Simply just leave it connected power it off and power it on and it will find it

Just put it in Odin/flash in CWM depending on which you picked. If you Odin, I think you have to put the recovery.bin in the Phone slot, or you can just put the tar in either slot.

You cant let it boot. Booting reinstalls the android recovery. Maybe, have battery out, then try booting with the 5 finger combo, or uncheck reboot in odin.

The CWM files are in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357655
.md5 files are not the archive, but the signature to verify your download.
Here are instructions to properly root your phone by flashing clockwork mod via download mode:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sa...te_Guide#Installing_the_ClockworkMod_Recovery
Then you will want to boot into recovery and install whatever ROM you want from the SD Card using the recovery mode.

Odin tars are .tar.md5 or .tar. its not a signature check, but if flashing that doesn't work, delete .md5.

Okay I end up following your advice on putting on the phone slot and not the PDA Odin did its thing I got the green pass message. Did as the instructions said on the YOUTUBE video ,got to the reboot screen after doing the 3 button thing only theres no Clockwork thing poping up just the same old Android system recovery screen 3e
oh and thank you for responding ive been going crazy going through all these instructions im on hour number 5 here
WAIT A Sec ok Im in the SDcard screen went to the FC09-BML File but its not asking me to install it just opens up to the files in it.Was I supposed to install this file as a zip file and not extract it? And if so what do I now which file do I go to?
So, I've done goofed. Ill admit it, i was stupid. Anyways, I was in ClockworkMod Recovery V6.0.1.5 because i wanted to restore to older backup because CN Mod update screwed up my play access. While mucking around in it, i went ahead and deleted everything (formatted sdcard, systen, cache, data). So yea my rom is gone but i wasnted to worried because i could install everything again from recovery. Now the thing is, my phone wont connect to the pc. I cant find an option in recovery to enable phone to connect to pc (or is that supposed to be automatic?). I tried fastboot and adb but without phone connecting to pc, no dice. I went into ODIN mode and the pc would recognize it but the windows install driver would always fail. Any help in solving this would be really appreaciated. Thanks.
PS. It a Fido Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250M
Looks like you havent installed the drivers properly.
I use the drivers that come along with the PdaNet installer for windows (google it).
In case you are using Windows 8, you'll have to enable installation of digitally unsigned drivers. You can google this too as well.

Yeah it is basically a one button method and it also tells you how to get out of a soft boot loop so if it does happen you can restore from a backup and not to flash from a program like ODIN

Thank you all, i fixed it.
Heres what i did for future reference:
Turns out the drivers were the problem. I used the tool kit osiandtrix suggested and that helped remove all previous installations of the drivers. After i rebooted the pc i just left the phone connected to windows and let windows do it thing. I clicked on the universtal drivers option but not sure if it did anything. From there i went into recovery and used adb sideload to put the new cm update and flash it. Everything is good now.
Hi, i am kind of a noob at mobile os so please bare with me. My phone randomly through out the day reboots on its own, when im trying to use most apps after some time they force close, and some times the phone just stays frozen until i have to remove the battery to restart it. Im looking for any help i tried dealing with this for months but its getting tiresome. My phone came S-OFF and i rooted it i am currently using the "wwe" rom i believe, it has happened in all 4 or 5 roms i have used. please help.

can someone help me i cant boot into recovery, and apps are still FCing.
Symptoms:
-Unable to boot into recovery/bootloader
-Force closes system app or installed apps
-Stored settings changes on reboots
-Random reboots while phone is idle
-Constant reboots while restarting it and doesn't know when it will boot normally.
All above mention symptoms are related to HARDWARE FAILURE! Bare in mind that not all of them you'll see it on your device. But any of one you face, will might probably having chance of hardware failure.
You or here on xda users can't resolve your issue. So don't try anything from now on wards. Use it as is. Or sell it and move to another device.
Unless you have some local cheap repair shops where they might evaluate the issue then fix it that way, rather than calling into HTC service center.
And i forgot to mention, you probably have question in mind, How i know? My device is dying too. It reboots constantly before it boots normally, though it works fine. So symptom may vary device to device but cause is the same.

I did the exact same thing not realizing it can take up to 15 minutes for the cache to clear. What I did to recover was boot into fastboot. Get my PC to recognized my phone. The ran the fast boot tool from the command line. From there I fixed my cache partition by running the fastboot erase cache command. After that I downloaded the stock recovery for the latest build then flashed that. After that I was then able to boot into adb mode from stock recovery. Then I downloaded the factory image of the latest build for my model of phone from Asus website it was around 1gb. From there I placed it into my adb directory and ran the adb sideload nameOfImage.zip and that side loaded the image back onto my phone fully recovering it. And nothing was last everything remained intact. I did not need to do a full wipe or anything and I was back up and running.

Is n910vvru2cpj2 rootable, can the bootloader be unlocked?
Just bought a note 4 on ebay and found out about the latest update when I looked at the "about phone" info. Read it was a security update....ruined my new purchase buz. So I was wondering the same thing can't find any info reguarding it, hopefully someone more experienced with the phone can chime in.
you might still be able to downgrade to N910VVRU2BPA1, and if you are able to, then yes it can be rooted.
how do you perform the downgrade?
I drank a beer and prayed lol seriously I downloaded kingo root for android. I installed the app on the phone. Then I installed root checker. Next I did adb devices. Next I did adb push Samsun unlock file like the guide. Then I ran kingo root to get temp root. In the command line I did adb shell, then typed su. You should then see # (which means you have root. At this point I typed in the code lines described in the guide. I typed the lines and when prompted yes/no,I typed yes and waited 5-10 minutes. Was prompted on screen that it was successful.

First, download, install and run the eMMC brick check from the Play Store, first before proceeding. The CID has to start with 15 or you're screwed.
There are like a billion threads in the general section that explain how to use KingRoot to root your phone, then push an unlock file. I believe I used this one.

After the above was done,I booted into download mode to verify I had dev mode. I disconnected USB cable, opened Odin and then flashed twrp recovery. I'm using cm14.1 ROM as I'm not a fan of touchwiz and stock.
Hope this helps you out. Whole process took about an hour. Good luck ,let me know if you get it working
