all right. a dude managed to install the live wallpaper.apk on his g1 but the live wallpaper's actually don't work right now. Even if they do work i think it will be too laggy to enjoy and will make the phone lacky.

did you see the the awesome-sauce graphics of the live wallpapers? it is going to lag like the water one. maybe the original nexus one might work right but i don't think a 100 mhz phone that runs flashing wallpapers is being called truly animated.
lets hope the dev community can get this working , I would love to see this on my Magic

You can download the live wallpapers from the Market onto manup's rom. Starfield, Duck Hunt, Digital Rain, and the one with the colorful circles work 100% with the ROM.

Not sure which thread it is but there is already someone working on making them for the magic so yeah...
for the live wallpapers on the mytouch was running the 2.1 vers 1.5 from the dream development forum. ran tons smoother then the g1 i also tested it on . only switched back to a 1.6 rom as i wanted vid camera capabilities back. All the live wall papers from market installed smoothly and seamlessly
Here is a rom. All the live wallpapers work, the only one I had trouble with is the mondal clock. The wallpapers, although they look cool, are just a distraction and drain battery. The rom itself is actually pretty fast =p
Live wallpaper
i have live wallpaper running on mytouch 3g
Anyone know how I can get nexus livewallpaper on my dream with eclair 2.1?
I really love the wallpaper with colored lines...

Hi I have a locked G1 and im new to the forums, is there any way to get the nexus one's interractive backrounds on my G1? Is there an app for it yet, or can someone make one? I'm new to all this stuff, someone mind helping me out?
Shoot me an email please and let me know..

Hi all,
I don't need to introduce myself, so I just thought I'd start a thread regarding a query I have.
I'm working on a new build very very shortly - which will be a Vanilla build hopefully based entirely from Villain4.0 Beta 2.
Anyway. The question is regarding live wallpapers.
For those of you who use/have used an AOSP rom, please could you tell me every live wallpaper which worked correctly?
Also... every one which caused the phone to soft reset?
Thank you in advance,
NPR
I have tried all available AOSP roms with live wallpapers and to be honnest ckdroid was probably the best, due to the fact that all live wallpapers i tried do actually run but then once you perform a lock / unlock cycle it simply reffers back to stock wallpaper which the exception of less 3D intensive wallpapers such as the one with circles of colour and the bouncy balls one ? sorry cant remember the names.
Maybe a Power Issue or CPU becuase ive heard several people say if you have USB plugged in they stay on ?
I would love to have working live wallpapers on my hero and have even started my own thread regarding them not working but nothing it seems people say they dont work on hero yet G1 and Magic has them and the upcoming open eclair has them working 100% apparently ! which annoys me because the hero is superior to both in terms of specs ?
I plan on spending a bit of time on trying to make them work. Maybe not immediately, but soon.

We're having this issue with the Eris too. It seems any wallpaper that uses OpenGL and RenderScript will crash when the phone sleeps when it's not plugged in. Others that don't use RenderScript work perfectly fine. The only one in LiveWallpapers.apk that works completely is the Polar Clock I believe. Other 3rd party ones such as Bezier and Duck Hunt work fine as well.
OP, If you fix this issue Eris users as well will thank you. It's had us stumped.
I found aHero to be the best vanilla, its got a working 5MP
In terms of live wallpapers the nexus MOD wallpaper worked quiet well except the problem with it disabling when you lock the screen or screen times out. Shame really because it was running find behind everything and not really lagging at all.

Where did you get the wallpaper from? If you have it as an .apk file then you need to use an app installer program, root explorer does this or just search the market for 'app installer'.
If its installed, its a case of pressing the menu button on the homescreen and selecting wallpaper>live wallpapers and it should be in the list.
maybe you should collaborate with the guy who made this rom posted yesterday
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651103
I have to say i flashed this last night, the rom has bugs that have been fixed in other roms so with a combanation of bug fixes ect this could be the one !
I have to say besides the bugs this is the best AOSP rom i have tried so far in terms of live wallpapers it seems even after sleep lock /un-lock cycle a lot of the live wallpapers work !
Working:
"digital Rain" Duck Hunt" "green" "water" "bezier" "Bokeh Rainbow" "grass" "living Colours" "LED scroller"
Not working:
"NexusMod" "EarthRot" "Galaxy" "Nexus" "Tea Garden"
Still testing others but deffinatley the best functionality so far !
I was googling and i found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647837
to all the developers, does anyone think this live wallpaper can be ported to the hero? it would be great instead of having just the static wallpaper.
There are live wallpapers for hero. For example on villainrom.
i think he means the Bokeh wallpaper. You can buy it on the market but it eats up ram on the nexus so i never bought it
no its different, you know the desire wallpaper? its a live wallpaper version of that, like you see in the TV adds
I fail to see your point. Do you want to have this live wallpaper run on the hero or do you want LWP to run on the hero in general? Because if you can run LWP on the hero in general, you sure can run this one too, but I'm afraid it's gonna be slow. If you want to run this LWP on the hero, you first have to enable LWP in general which brings us back to starting position. So yeah, basically, whatever you meant, as I said villainrom is the only rom AFAIK to support LWP with sense. Then you have to buy the bokeh LWP from the market and apply it and you're done.

My friend has the Desire and that one you are meaning is called HTC Sense in the LWP List...otherwise known as Bokeh Live wallpaper...
would anyone know how to get live wallpaper on a ROM that doesn't have it?
As I say for like... 3825923589th time, team villain apparently knows and got LWP to work on their rom. If you are a dev and want to implement it, ask them. If you are a user, flash villain10. Can we consider matter closed, or should we wait for 50 more questions of the sort "I want LWP on my hero! How?"? Thanks!

I know that Villain can do it but I don't use their ROM so I just wanted to know if there was a way to do it. I'm not a user who enjoys harassing devs about things I want on their ROM if I can do it myself. Next time I won't bother asking if I have to deal with someone as unpleasant as yourself

Although HomerSp is nice and friendly, he is slightly incorrect in his assumption. Seeing your sig, you are using Cronos droid and in case that is the 1.7 version, you can apply the LWP fix, but it will break your theme and still you won't be able to use LWP. And still I don't see why you have to bother other devs (like HomerSp) in order not to bother Feeyo. It wasn't all that hard to do a nandroid and try it without asking people whether you can do it. And sorry about being anal again, but if you would like to do things yourself, do you have to ask about every single thing? Just do it - if it works, great, if it doesn't - go harass Feeyo about it.

This is what i was asking, this lwp is the same concept as the bokeh one, but its not the same.
I tried pushing it, but it force closes when you try to use it. I also tried flashing the whole zip, which contains lib files as well, but then my phone wouldn't boot up

Yes it doesn't work and I don't consider it bothering when my question is not directed at anyone but they do try and help, also I was unaware of the file and I would have done a Nandroid and flashed it myself if I was aware of it in the first place, not to mention I searched for a day or two looking on XDA and google for any possibility to get LWPs to work on a Hero without using another ROM but I came up empty handed I tried to push some LiveWallpaper.apk and LiveWallpaperPicker.apk to see if it would have any affect but it didn't so I was stumped so I asked when I tried everything I could think of. I am not a dev or a theme so I have no way of knowing how the internals of Android works I don't know any coding languages even though I tried when I was a bit younger to no success and I have put in a request to Feeyo to have it on the next version he releases.
Ok, ok, sorry. Guess I was bit too harsh, but I didn't realize you didn't find the fix on villain forums... I'm afraid I've started resembling kendon in attitude On the LWP with sense topic - I think you need some modifications done on the rosie, so any rom with custom themes will have problems. Also you might need a deodexed rom (as the update only contains rosie.apk and not a rosie.odex), so I guess it will be hard for a non-dev to work things out and modify the villain fix to the cronos rom.
Anyway, the thread apparently has different purpose - that is porting specifically the bokeh LWP to work with hero and not getting LWP to work in general, so I guess we were a bit off-topic for which I apologize.

Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the transition effects that this guy is running on his Desire HD?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skKU-uI7NXA
You can see a good example at 17s into the video. It looks like the menu transition effects have been changed to fly in and also exiting and opening apps seems to have a transition effect. I've searched the web (google), searched XDA and searched youtube but nothing seems to explain it. I notice a few people have asked him on his video but he has not replied to them ...anyway, I think they look cool - if anyone has any idea how to implement these transition, please let me know Thanks in advance...
There are some effects addon packages on the miui-au site here http://www.miui-au.com/miui_au-1-1-26-r1/ don't know of they work on our devices, and they most probably won't work on anything other then a miui rom i think.
you can modify you framwork-res.apk locatet in /system/framework
with online kitchen
they got some custom transitions but i cant say if that are the same as the ones you are looking for since the yt link "doesn´t work in my country" :/

no trouble, risks are minimal in rooting, it was a big deal a couple of years ago but now devs have created tools that make it easy, only hard part is making a goldcard and downgrading (if nesssesary), flashing s-off can be risky if somthing happens during the flash, but thats about it anyway good luck

If I was you Id flash the Lite'ning Rom (link below)
Great rom and it gives you the theme with the rom ..
From there you can flash any KE7 theme from the forums ..
There are usually instructions on how to do it ...
You need a deodexed rom to flash themes ..

Most of the posters have mentioned the software they have used (Launchers, widgetlocker, icon packs, backgrounds) etc. I agree its a pain to navigate through the pages looking for this kind of info but hey its wortht the effort! I am a newbie to Android too and the post your desktop thread has taught me so much, most of the software listed there is free and on the Android market too.
Personally I am using Simi clock, battery and weather widgets along with the 'Beautiful widgets'. Try these for a start.

I was hoping I could change a theme, ie the look of the icons, the fonts etc without having to flash a ROM....I have flashed ROM's before but I always found the phone to become a bit unstable afterwards. (This was on the SE X1 so perhaps it was the crappy phone rather than the ROM!!)
I can't see anywhere how to change the global icons or the global font's and things.
I was hoping you could just install/uninstall a theme...but it doesn't look like you can do such a thing.
I have Widget Locker and Launcher Pro but none of those seem to allow a total global theme...
Will Go Launcher EX enable me to do all that?
