Hi, newbie here,
Does anyone know if there is a BT Sports app APK that could be side loaded onto Fire TV?
I have xbmc and have access to BT Sports but I've got access to an BT Sports account login and I'd like to run it separately from Xbmc.
My Fire TV isn't rooted. I've seen what looks like an APK on a dodgy Zip file site that asks for bank details to open it but I'd rather see if there was a free version about.
I'd be interested to here if anyone has managed to configure this set up on their FIre Tv.

Sideloading allows you to install apps to your Fire TV that are not available in the Amazon Appstore. There are numerous apps in the Google Play store that may work on the Fire TV that have not been officially ported over. You can download these apps using online APK downloaders. There are also apps like XBMC, which we will be using in this guide, which are not available on any appstore and can only be installed by sideloading.

BT Sport App for Kindle Fire Stick
Hi, Could someone post the current version of the BT Sport Apk (2.11.0) so I can sideload to a Kindle Stick?
I have sideloaded an older version (link on this site) but this no longer works as the App requires an update. BT Sport App forces you to do an upgrade and stops any previous versions working. I assume there is no way to upgrade the app directly from the Fire Stick?
My google play account wont let me download the current BT Sport App version as says I have no devices connected (I have no access to Andriod phone or tablet). I've used APK Pure and APK-dl to download the current BT Sport App from Google play but abdfire fails to sideload (I get an "install failed" error msg). If I try to reload the old version of BT sport this sideloads fine so I know abdfire is working.
I have a Windows 7 PC.
Any help would be appreciated to either get the downloaded file sideloaded or a new link to the file (outside of Google Play) which I can download and try to sideload.
Thanks
If you want I have made a thread about working apps & accessories on the AFTV2 , look here -

Lots of apps for tv box and Fire TV on this site www.apk4.tv
I have bT sport app side loaded and working,it doesn't play nice with fire tv remote,so you have to install Cetus remote and Cetus for tv on your phone and use mouse mode to navigate, but the app works really well, flawless streams in HD

Since the latest update the bt sport app sideloaded on the fire stick now just comes up the message it can't start as it doesn't have access to Google play services. Any one else having this issue?

Same here, can't get anywhere so removed it, will be back to casting from tablet now.
It can be made to work again. Follow the steps here:
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-inst...amazon-fire-tv-or-fire-tv-stick-without-root/
(You dont need to do the last step for Google Music, unless you really want it).
BT Sport app will then moan about the version of play services being too old, so download and sideload the latest compatible version of play services (For Android 5, arm64, nodpi). As of writing, it would be this:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-10-2-98-240-146496160-android-apk-download/
(I actualy think I installed 10.2.91 and not 10.2.98 above but I dont think it will matter)
After installing that, and rebooting box, BT sport would no longer complain but just go to a black screen. Gave up and assumed it wouldnt be made to work... but hey presto worked a treat a few days later when I checked again. Happily watched a game over the weekend.
hello someone can help me with the app Btsport, because I doe everything about to install the services of google play and always show me a error, pleases some help.

Anyone know what the current combination of the 5 files is, I've had no luck getting any version of BT sport to work.
Im using a Kindle Fire Stick 2nd Gen on Fire OS 5.2.4.2
Google Account Manager 511
Google Services Framework 511
Google Play Store TV 8028
Ive tried various versions of both of these but neither work, I receive the update google play services error.
Google Play Services
Google Services Framework
Any help would be appreciated.
The following combination of files will enable the BT Sport app.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...unt-manager-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...s-framework-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl.../google-play-store-android-tv-8-0-28-release/
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...s-11-9-51-230-177350961-android-apk-download/
https://apkpure.com/bt-sport/com.bt.btsport
For the above files, version 4.12.1 of bt sport will work. This may help with other google service dependant apps. Install cetusplay on your phone and set it to mouse mode for controls within the app.
It all installed correctly, however, as my BT Sport service is provided free from EE, it won’t work unless the device has an EE SIM card installed.
Presumably that’s that then? Unless anyone knows any way around this?
Looks like the latest by sport won't install on the firestick, anyone have it going or have found a workaround o)
apologies if this has been posted before, but im new to the AFTV scene and aint posted on here in years!
I have this app for my android tabelt and the latest version now allows Virgin customers (which im one) to log in with their virgin ID rather than Sky and watch the channels live. This works fine on android.
Ive got (what i think is) the apk of this (got it using that apk scraper that pulls apks from the google play store) and sideloaded onto my aftv.
Now, with a mouse it works fine, but what i cant find is the option to log on with your virgin account, like comes up on the tablet? The only section about live tv brings up a link to the sky go app (which the old versions of this app did).
Do i have an old version of the app / apk? And if so does anyone have a link to the latest? I did put the url to the latest version in the scraper though
Anyone had any joy?
It seems like (if i do have the latest apk) that the option that appears on the tablet version isnt on when its on fire tv, but not sure how thats possible!!?
cheers

Don't know if you've got this fixed out, but my sky sports for android tablet version on the Fire TV has the ability to sign in using Virgin media. Wonder if you just don't have the correct sky sports apk version installed. You're looking for Sky sports for android 3.0 (427) dated Jan 15, 2015. I downloaded mine from the aptoide store which I sideloaded to the fire tv.
Just F.Y.I If you sideload the apotide apk app to the Fire Tv and do a search, the old version will pop up. Turns out if you install a browser on the Fire TV, like Maxthon, you can search other stores which will allow you to find the latest version. I've found out that there are too many websites offering the latest version of apps and after sideloading them, it turns out to be nothing more than them putting one of their stores on to the fire. At least aptoide is clean and you can find the latest app you're looking for.
I use YouTube adaway xposed mod on my phone & tablet and it works great. Its not working on AFTV. Anyone know why? Do I need to side load a different YouTube apk? I'd like it to work with the supported YouTube for amazon but will use the one in play store. Maybe its because amazon uses an older version?
Any help is welcomed. I hate these ads. They start before every video I watch now!
Install the YouTube mod from this very forum,it is older than the main YouTube app,but easier to block ads from, and it doesn't even require Google Play stuff.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529715
If you use WiFi,there is a useful ad blocker I use that works admittedly better (AND without even requiring root) since other ad blockers started failing on me.

I can't install the mod. Tried adb and just placing on sdcard. Are you using an older firmware? I'm on the latest. Not that that's the issue but I read the thread you linked and it seems simple.
I am still on the older firmware.
The normal YouTube app has to be uninstalled before you install the mod version.
Having a web browser, terminal emulator for ADB via localhost, and a file explorer for learning the directory and filename of APKs you want to install is really useful for non-rooted users.

I uninstalled YouTube before attempting it. I'm not home now but used my phone to download it yesterday and I see the apk is 12.72 KB...that can't be right, is it? Maybe my issue was as simple as a bad or incomplete download. I'll try again later.
One thing I hate about various transfer protocols is that they can VERY often corrupt files upon transfer.
Things are much easier if you can directly download the file in a browser on the FireTV and use the really helpful terminal emulator method for installing/sideloading it.
The latest Opera Browser version has a desktop quality download UI,allowing you to pick the name of a file to be saved, and the directory to save it in.
Such a shame other things in Opera browser are a little broken, like the save password dialog causing a crash unless clicked away from.

I do appreciate the followup but when you say transfer, are you talking about the actual download? Or pushing it to my AFTV sdcard? Because I don't see the difference between downloading it to my phone's browser, my Mac, PC or opening opera on AFTV.
I just wanted to clarify. I can certainly download it with AFTV but its weird that every link yields an incomplete apk. And, I believe this mod was made for phones and tablets so you'd think it'd work the same or better with my phone.
Try getting the inverted copy.
The download page says this one is 6.15MB ,so you should expect a size near that.
I do hope you can sort this out,and I wish you luck.
control youtube app with remote from fire tv stick?
hi is there a way to control the app with the fire tv stick remote?
i tried and searched for a clip, but then i wasn't able to select a search result.
Is there a remote optimized version for youtube other than the amazon with adds version?
You can filtering the YouTube ads via Xposed YouTube AdAway (http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.youtubeadaway)

But that doesnt seem to work with aftv youtube. Im going to sideload the play store version. It should work like it does on my phone. What I dont know is how a remote will work with it.
Update,-well that didnt take long. It wont launch. What version of youtube are people using for ad blocking?
The Google Play YouTube is completely useless on FireTV because of the forever re-updating Google Play Services beyond 7.0.99 whch breaks everything that relies on it,primarily Google Play itself and the YouTube app.
This is why I use the YouTube Mod since it doesn't rely on Google Play Services.
Someone should really upload a patched Google Play Services 7.0.99 copy so we can avoid the function breaking updates.
All it needs is a patch to either disable the updater within it or make it think it is version 9.9 or higher from the year 2029 to stop the updates.

If you are rooted, there is an XPosed module that eliminates the need for Google Play Services. http://repo.xposed.info/module/xeed.xposed.dngmod
my experience
same for me:
the adblock apk does not work with the fire tv app.
the youtube app from #1 works, but cant get controlled with the app
maybe someone ist able to modify the app the it can get controled by remote without touchscreen

Thanks for apk. I'm so use to my firestick, but got an android box to mess with. Would you happen to know if there is anyway to install this on a 905 box? The google play store only allows tablet apk which sucks with remote.

Doesn't work, it complains about the lack of the Amazon app store and even when you sideload it and sign in, Hulu just halts at a generic loading error screen. This version I bet checks the build.prop, and I doubt I can successfully use a modded version (to spoof the build.prop) with Appcloner. I got it once to complain about entitlement before I added the Hulu app to my Amazon library, but nothing more past that.

What if you install the Amazon Appstore apk?

I was able to sideload the Aptoid store and install the "official" Youtube app, not the wrapper app that's currently available. I am not able to login and see my subscriptions. The app works fine but when I try and login nothing happens. Do I need to uninstall the wrapper version of Youtube that's currently installed? Is there a way to get the darn PlayStore installed?
Thanks

You need google services installed. There are a few threads on how to install it, but finding the compatible versions also seems to be the issue. If you are looking for a version that will be available after the new year (if truly google blocks amazon) side-load and install this one.
https://smartyoutubetv.github.io/en/
It works like the current amazon youtube app, but registers as a TV.
Nevermind

You might be able to get into the youtube tv through silk or firefox. Both seem to work ok with regular youtube and logging in.

Install the following for signing in. Youtube and services are working with these....
Google Account Manager v4.4.4-1227136
Google Services Framework v4.4.4-1227136
Google Play Services (AndroidTV) v11.9.51 (836-177350961)
Google Play Store (AndroidTV) v4.6.17
For youtube
YouTube for Android TV (Android TV) 2.02.08
I can upload a zip file for these. This should get you into running the YouTube TV app. If there is one, try the YouTube for Android TV (64bit if available)
