Google Voice Help Please - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I am not sure if this is the right place so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong forum. I know many of you are experts on GOogle Voice so I was hoping you fellas can help me.
A long time ago I set up Google Voice as my Voice Mail, on my Sprint EVO. I had barely heard of GV then, and I don't remember anything about the process. I am now getting ready to switch carriers to straight talk and I was interested in porting my Sprint number to Google Voice. I have done the research as best I can and determined that my new provider does support Conditional Call Forwarding(with AT&T SIM which I am using), and that Google Voice can port my old sprint number. So I went to google voice website to do this, and discovered that I apparently already have a Google Voice number(didn't know this) and that it is already the same as my Sprint number. So, as you can see below, apparently according to this the number I want ported is in fact already my google number? And it appears that I can already set this up to ring my new phone? So how then do I port it if it's already my GV number? And what happens if I don't port anything, then cancel Sprint? I am SO confused right now. All I want to do is port my Sprint number to GV, then enter my new carrier number to GV so that people calling my old number will be calling my new phone instead. I already use GV for Voicemail. Here is a screenshot of GV account below.
EDITk just realized i didnt black out all my numbers, but meh, you guys aren't gonna call it are or do crazy **** are ya? For that matter if you want to call it to help, or text, feel free! LOL! I'm serious!

Anyone else notice that contact's Google Voice # shows as "Grandcentral" on handset
I just noticed that Google Contacts has an option to assign a Google Voice # to a contact.
I setup a Google Voice # in my contact in Gmail and then looked to see how it showed up on my DInc. I was surprised to see that Android 2.2 still refers to the Google Voice # as "Grandcentral"

Grandcentral was the predecessor of Google Voice - they bought it a couple of years ago I believe. That probably explains how they can classify somebody's google voice number as grandcentral - they might not have changed all the settings in their servers from grand central to google voice.
Is there a chance that contact was added before the rebranding? Perhaps adding a newer GV contact would be different.

I just tried creating a brand new fictitious contact, assigned it a Google Voice number in Gmail's contact manager, then opened it up on my phone. It looks the same as the contact shown in the original screenshot. The phone lists the number as Grandcentral.
I'm surprised that Google hasn't renamed that in 2.2. I assume it'll be re-named in 3.0.
FYI...I'm running Virtuous 3.0.1, but I assume the Grandcentral label is there in stock 2.2 as well

Looking for the answer to this for a while
Thanks for the info on this, I have been looking for the answer to this for several weeks now. It's pretty annoying to having to press 1 to answer each call.
I believe is call screening
It may be annoying to you but some find it useful. This basically let's you eavesdrop on who is calling you in case they block call ID or are calling from phones other than their cellphone.
On the other side, don't forget about that next time you're calling someone and talk trash about them just before they pick up

[Q] HELP?

I am new to this, I also first off want to apologize for this probably not being posted in the correct area. Here is my problem. I HAD Sprint. They sucked. Dropped calls, no service, definitely no 4G that they conned me into a contract with. Long story short, after a 4 month battle, they dropped my contract, no ETFs on either line. Bills all paid up, no debt. Now I have 2 Samsung Epic Touch 4g phones that I want to use elsewhere. My issue is that now that I am free and clear of Sprint, they REFUSE to give me an MSL. They have given me a long list of reasons why I cannot have my MSLs. I have rooted my phone, tried the getprop ril.MSL method (without the swype keyboard before someone asks). Nothing, it just skips down to a new command line with no data. logcat doesn't work, get my msl doesn't work. CMDA workshop doesn't work.. I'm at a loss. My wife was able to have her phone flashed to revol, but she can't send/receive picture messages with revol flashed. I am stuck using an old clearance rack galaxy something or other because I'm at a stand still with my phone. Is there a way to completely remove the Sprint software from the phone and install some sort of open source phone software? I'm obviously new to this, my typical work is computers not phones and my last smart phone prior to this was a t-mobile shadow (YEARS ago). Someone please help me figure this out. Once I get some initial help I'm sure I'll get the gist of it and be good to go. I'm just getting absolutely nowhere with anything that I have read in any forum.
I haven't needed it in a long time. But there is an mal fix by tdunham. I am on break right now. So I cannot Google it. But if you Google with the keywords tdunham msl fix you will find it.

Straight to voicemail issue

I have the Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy SIII SCH-S960L. (I was told it's a brother phone to the sprint galaxy s III) anyway. It's stock rom, not rooted, ect.
My question is, Incoming and outgoing calls work just fine, except when my Sons school calls. (well anyone working at the school district that calls from a school line) it goes straight to voice mail. doesn't ring or anything. I get a voice mail notification, but no incoming call. I called straight talk and they said it's not their problem it's a problem with the school districts phones. but yet everyone at his school says I'm the only person this ever happens with. I'm confused and not sure what to do. I don't have blocking mode on. I don't have any of the school phone numbers on a reject list. and as I said, it's only the school this happens with. any other incoming call from anyone else goes through just fine. I took a screen shot of what it looks like when his school calls me (Like they did this morning with an emergency.) any ideas on why this is happening and what I can do? I'm uncomfortable with them not being able to reach me. Here's the screen shot:

Hi guys! After a loooong time of inactivity I'm back with a new app.
Actually, the app was launched almost 3 months ago but only in Italy (with 5000+ downlods since then); now I'm trying to deliver it also in USA.
Basically this app let you know who called you when your phone is busy in another call or offline. It works by instructing your mobile provider to forward calls to my server that reject the call and send the notification to your phone through Internet.
The main advatanges of this approach are:
1) many mobile providers charge you to provide a similar service based on SMS. My app provide the same service almost for free
2) my app logs missed calls in the native call history of your Android phone. A lot more convenient then SMS
The problem is that I need a local server in each country I want to provide my service, because call forwarding is only allowed to local numbers. So I bought another server in USA but I can't test it from Italy (my country!). I want to do some beta testing before opening it to the public.
So.... do you live in the USA and do you want to help me? Great!
1) Download the app and test it. Report feedbacks here on XDA or at [email protected] to let me know everything works as expected
2) If there are issues with the service please always provide your mobile provider (ex. AT&T)
3) Please tell me if there are issues with the translation (I'm italian and my english is not so good)
Your help is VERY appreciated! THANK YOU!
