Ok so i have been using go sms pro for about month now and recently i got tired of receiving double messages and lockscreen notificcations so i decided to make a titanium backup of it and uninstall it so i wouldnt have that problem anymore. Now I am having problems receiving sms because thats uninstalled im pretty sure as now i remember that go sms relies on the stock app to get mms but when i went to reinstall it soehow the backup isnt there anymore i guess i deleted it without knowing or something so now am i out of luck. What can i do, could someone just upload the stock messaging app and i download it and install it or what do i do now?
Thanks in advance.

Im an Android noob but even I wouldn't have made this mistake. the Galaxy S III has a feature to let you hide apps so there's no reason to delete them. also, Go SMS has a setting that lets you disable stock app so you don't get double messages.
Finally, all you need to do is restore your device back to factory.

Positive you deleted it and didn't just disable it? Or did you remove it with Titanium?
If you go Settings > Apps > All, disabled apps are near the bottom, not in the alphabetical list.

Okay, so i was stupid enough not to notice that this is a MOD for S4-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303360
Anyways, i installed the mod and now my notification bar is gone. Further, I keep getting "unfortunately #ffd7d7d7 has stopped working" every other minute. Also, it is taking very long to boot from power off.
Any solutions that don't involve in me losing my data?
I've tried installing the remove notification bar file from that post, but that didn't help
Thanks

Okay, I fixed it by installing the newest android update, however, now my phone has become very slow. Any suggestions?
Did you do a factory reset after installation?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
No, i just installed the new firmware. I dont really want to lose all my data.
Is there a way to back it up that can allow me to restore it easily? Like an app or something which will restore everything- like whatsapp messages etc..

I assume that your phone is rooted.
Search for titanium backup in play store and backup all your apps. I'm not entirely sure if it will backup your messages and contacts, so I suggest that you use an app called super backup as well.
Try to reinstall your firmware and see if your phone is faster. And make sure you only backups application and not system settings, since those settings might make your phone slow again. I will also suggest that you transfer the backup folder to your computer, just to be on the safe side. Re-download the apps and restore your files after the installation
I'm not sure If this post covered all your questions, so feel free to ask me any questions that you might have

What app is sending you these notifications? File Manager? App Manager?
Hold down on the notification until you see a bell and an i. Hit the i to get information.
There should be a box that says notifications on the app info... Uncheck that. Reboot the phone and see if it appears again (It shouldn't).

Hold down on the notification in your tray until you see a bell and an i enclosed in a circle. Hit the i to get app information.
Then uncheck the box for notifications from that app. Reboot and see if it pops up again.

If you're on Lollipop:
Hold down on the notification and get the info. Make sure it's unchecked (Could be a different app sending that one).
If it's already unchecked:
Go to your settings and find "Notification Manager". Enter this and hit "App notifications". Find the app that sent the above notification and tap on it. Now you can adjust it and set priorities and whatnot. For this, block notifications from it.
This may block notifications for system updates as well, but you can still check it manually. Plus, system updates don't happen very often so not seeing it won't really matter.
EDIT: Misunderstood what you meant... I underlined what to do in your case.
Edit 2: I'm running a custom ROM and that's how I would do it in my case. I failed to remember that the stock ROM may not have added these features, so you can also do this (for sure) but going to your settings and hitting apps, then scrolling over to all. Find the app manager (or whatever app uses the same icon as the one sending you the notifications) and click on it. Now you can uncheck the displaying of notifications from it.

Read that^^^
Also, unchecking notifications from "Google Service Framework" may remove notifications for these type of updates.
If you are rooted and already have SuperSU you can download Titanium backup and uninstall any app from your phone. BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SOME APPS ARE IMPORTANT. Also, make sure you backup the file before removing it via titanium (backup through titanium backup) in case you for some reason need it back. This may or may not remove the prompt to update the app, but way back when (if I remember correctly) it did for me.

Glad to hear it! If you ever have any more questions feel free to PM me.
Also, I would highly recommend you try out a free app called "LG Tweaks Box". It'll make your phone feel so much better and have tons of customization!
I'm not sure if this even/still applies but when I was on KitKat (LG G3 2GB) I rooted my device then used either Root Explorer or ES File Explorer File Manager and looked in the data\op folder on device and deleted anything I didn't want (mainly anything carrier related which was all of the H3G_COM folder (30 items) as it was a 3 UK handset) then reflashed firmware and wiped device and I have never had any apps forced on me since, i've even disabled auto restore of apps from Google Play on first sign in so I can be choose what I wanted installed at each reflash/wipe.
Back up the OP folder first as It is handy for later if ever needed
Again not sure if this even/still applies
Hope that helps
Thanks for the reply
But sorry to say that my Data/Op folder has no Carrier APPs
i have done a full search on phone an just cant find the junk
i still have a message saying i have 15 APPs to update even with APP update frozen with RootUninstaller

Try installing them then using titanium backup to remove them completely including all files.

Hi
my phone has become unusable as my Contacts Storage app data keeps filling up internal memory. As soon as I try and uninstall an app to free some memory the CS app fills it up. I have checked with Diskusage app and it's now at 3.5GB+. Tried to backup contacts to perform reset but Contacts app as well as many other apps do not open due to lack of available memory as it is all filled up by Contacts Storage. I would not like to clear data from the Contacts Storage app and lose all contacts... but what to do? Is there any viable alternative?
Thanks
Marco
Hi there!
It sounds like you have a buggy app. Is Contacts storage part of the Operating system or is it a Play Store app?

Hi, I agree, this might be a problem with the app which is a Samsung app. From the net it seems some other people had the same problem on Note II, S5

If your N3N is rooted already, check this link out. You could make a manual backup of your contacts first using that method and then factory reset or flash STOCK back to it.
If you're not rooted, consider trying it out?[you should know beforehand that this will DEFINITELY trip your KNOX counter]:angel::angel:

Thanks for the advice. It's not rooted unfortunately. I will try that. Does routing erase the contact data on the phone?
I was hoping to find a way to fix the buggy app, whatever it is, but I'm afraid I have no other option.

Oh no, it does no such thing. Rooting only allows you permission to write to your system partition. See here and here for more information about rooting an android device.
Don't rush for a quick fix. Take your time to ensure your data is backed up safely before attempting any repairs or *risky* operations on your phone. Be safe, and enjoy :highfive:

Hi, I deleted 2GB of apps... and the problem disappeared. The Contacts storage space went back to 40MB.
I backed up the contacts with Super backup and then rooted the phone anyway.
Is there any way to see (using some root enabled app) which app is causing the issue of bloated contacts storage, after I reinstall the basic/main apps like FB, Google+ etc?
I have found some logging apps on play store but not sure which one might help

That's weird!
I'm glad you got it fixed either way. I don't think that that is normal behaviour for a system app, especially if you're SURE it's the one behaving like that. It seems the entire OS might be buggy.
Best bet is to backup data, make Nandroid backup, and flash back to STOCK or a custom TW custom ROM... Start afresh - so to speak

I'm trying to get my head around titanium backup and the correct way to restore data when switching ROMs. Some people say you have to restore your device ID. I've always had issues with notifications after restoring app data. I'm interested what is the correct procedure and What I'm doing wrong?

For me... I only backup user apps I dont backup system data. When restoring I don't restore WhatsApp and twitter( I noticed delayed notification if I restore with titanium ) So u download WhatsApp and twitter from play store and do ur normal setup. That's what works for me with delayed notification
Also never did any device id restore

That's what I've been told however done people say it works fine. Someone with a 6t said they were able to keep everything across different devices

i usually just restore everything. except all apps that needs GCM or CCM for notifications. restoring apps like whats app breaks notifications so those apps just install from playstore.

whats app well. dont delete whats app folder when you reinstall app it can restore settings and messages.
on telegram no need.
On MIUI I sometimes had that problem with WhatsApp and delayed notifications but with AOSP never happend. You could also try Migrate.
