In my chrome settings i have my sync turned on to sync my bookmarks. I recently flashed cm9 and thats when i started to notice this. Before when i was running stock, chrome was not showing up as a battery hog. Is this something that i can fix or mabey a rom bug?

Could be preloading webpages from whatever you last had open. You can try turning off the Chrome Settings > Bandwidth management > Never.
But to be clear, I've never seen Chrome use battery if I do a fresh boot and not open it.
Hey OP, I had the same issue once with Chrome. Noticed one day that the battery usage was unusually high and I didn't use it that much. Anyways, I did a force close on the app, then I restarted my phone and haven't had any issues since. Give that a try and see if it helps. If it keeps draining the battery like crazy, than it's most likely some else
You should use GSam Battery Monitor.
I got a battery drain with Chrome (in sleep mode) and it was the google sync service for bookmarks.
I turned off sync for bookmarks but it wasnt enough... I ended up deleting Chrome

Check this fix out and see if it helps you. No confirmation but safe and easy to try.

What the heck killed my battery? This is with the extended battery and I started from a full charge after flashing a new rom and clearing battery stats..
I turned off all connections, and turned off sync.. Sat the phone down and went to bed after about an hour of web surfing.. I went to bed with 70% left and woke up 6 hours later with 37%...

Its all in the last screenshot. Keep awake time is huge. That's the bug if I had to guess.

That keep awake time is normal, nothing strange there...
Your story of browseing for an hour then going to sleep for 6 hours doesnt match your batteries' graph.
According to your story, there should have been a sharp decline from browsing web since the screen would be sucking the power, then a very slight decline from being idle, something was either running in the background (facebook maybe, it has a high % of usage) who knows?
Yeah idk.. If you look at when wifi was on that was when I was browsing.. Then after that there is a steep decline which doesn't make sense to me.. I don't think it was Facebook or anything because all data/sync was off...
I know it takes a day or two for a new rom to settle in but I certainly wouldn't think it would have that large of an impact

I read somewhere that there is/was a bug where after a reboot Google talk or maybe google+ launches the camera in the background which keeps running until you manually open the camera app and close it. I believe I read it some where on Franco's kernel post. Not sure if the bug is still there and if it's the culprit here, but might be worth investigating.
I can't seem to get the battery results people are claiming. It seems like I lose 10 percent usage per hour during the day. I am starting to think I might need to replace my battery. Last night I left my phone unplugged and It drained over 25 percent with 7 hours sleep. When I installed the rom I used the wipe flag. I haven't touched a CPU controller cause it was suggested not to.
How do I find out exactly what is draining the battery so much?
I heard about battery calibration. I have read about a few techniques. I have also read that it is a placebo.
I am not sure what to do. Here are some screens. The drainage doesn't seem normal.

Battery life really depends on the user much moreso than the rom. are you constantly using gps? google location? Wifi? Facebook sync? Twitter sync? Google talk? Other im's thru social hub? max screen brightness? constantly receiving calls and texting?
All of these factors influence your battery life. its probably not the roms fault.

I am not saying its the rooms fault. I am trying to figure out what is causing the drain. I don't use social hub or the Facebook aphp. Only thing I kesync is Gmail, contacts, calander. Also, I use gtalk. I don't GPS at all.
Something is draing the battery.
Hi, my phone has been periodically waking up as seen in the screenshots below.

I've gone through all of my installed apps and made sure that they arent refreshing, etc. at any frequent period (facebook and android weather were the biggest abusers, but I turned refresh off and to 6hrs respectively). I cant find any other apps that would be waking the device up, but its still being woken up about every 7 min. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I seem to be having the same problem since the jelly bean update At first I though it was the steam app the one awaking the phone, but it doesn´t seem to be the case. Right now I´m blaming Google Now as I see no other suspects, but I´m not really convinced... It looks like it only happens when I have data connection or wifi on. If I disable all data, the problem seems to dissapear.

Ok so I just realized that Tapatalk was set to check for updates every 30 min. I changed that to 12 hrs, but that still doesnt explain the rate of awakes that I was seeing. Could it be google sync? I thought there used to be a place to set the sync interval, but I cant seem to find it in JB...
use better battery stats to look at what's keeping the phone awake
So a month ago I upgraded my epic 4g touch to stock rooted most current official release, and flashed the newest clock work mod... Not sure what kernel. And anyhow, after flashing it, basically my battery dropped in more than half.. After an hour of it sitting around I drop 30%. I even have greenify keeping my apps hibernated. Since I'm use to the s3, I'm not sure what to do.. Do I just flash a new kernel or what? Yes I did search and got nothing about battery drain after flashing an update.
Try the suggestions here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474084

Those are all common sense and app suggestions... This isn't an issue to be fixed with an app.. It's something going on.. Maybe the kernel

Most likely an app causing wakelocks that isn't allowing your phone to sleep. Look in Settings/About Phone to see what kernel you flashed.
I believe that your power drain issues are related to mine. Sometime in the last two months I found my battery draining about twice as fast. Upon investigation i found that nlpcollector was the culprit (google location services). After turning off google location services I found that my battery life went back to normal. I understand that this isn't an ideal fix, but hopefully it is temporary and google fixes nlpcollector so it isn't doing wakelocks like crazy.
Hi there,
I've currently got my G3 rooted, but on stock and I am using CloudMagic instead of the stock mail app. I don't remember exactly when this happened, but right now, I have to open the app before it goes checking for new mail, while previously it just got pushed and I got a notification.
I am using Titanium Backup (froze some stock LG and Google apps), Greenify (double checked I didn't hibernate CloudMagic) and battery doctor and it's CPU management function to save some juice.
I really need my mail on time for business reasons, so any suggestions would be really helpful!
Is cloudmagic running in the background? (Does it show up in greenify as a backgroud process?) if it does, maybe you just deactivated the notifications. If you have deactivated synchronisation in the settings, cloudmagics push eill not work anymore. The same happens below 5% battery i think.
Yes it is running in the background (checked Greenify). Auto sync is also enabled so I'm not sure what the issue can be.

Well you can see that it's not always running (5h vs 15h on whatsapp) on my phone i have the exact same numbers for cloudmagic and whatsapp
Ah I see, so I'm guessing one of my apps is shutting it down, correct? I also tried to reinstall the app but to no avail.
My guess would be clean master since it has some backgroud process killing feature (i don't use it, only read it on the internet).just tryif it works without it.
Found the problem! It was battery doctor that killed it. Everything works great now. Thanks for helping out, really appreciate it!
