Please Help me! Stuck in fastboot! - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, earlier I managed to sucessfully unlock the bootloaders and thought i might try to install one of DoomLords Kernals, the Kernal initially loaded and I went to install the wifi module zip. Afer I did that, I tried to reboot but the phone was not rebooting so I thought instead I would try to relock the bootloader anyway. I happened to have installed one img file from a video on Youtube regarding the Xperia S.
I think I might have installed the wrong img file and now I and now I can only enter the fastboot. Whatever I do i cannot get back into the system. I flashed a generic stock rom 2.3.4 just incase I had lost the system files, once I connect the phone to the computer the PC Companion seems to recognise the phone but I do not see anything?
What have I done wrong here and how do I fix this problem!!?!
Help will be well appriciated! Thanks!
PS: Sony Update Service says " The phone has modified software that cannot be updated ".

"What have I done wrong"??
U CAN'T randomly pick IMG files and flash like this buddy...you're lucky u don't have a brick.
Now I suggest you download the update manager from Sony and connect your phone go back to stock. Forget root, forget unlocked boot loaders..
Sent from my RaZr NeXus.

Flash an ftf file, tutorials are everywere, and to relock the bootloader for our device you have to flash another ftf file somewere.

The method hasnt worked.... the phone still does not switch on.... here is the log data from flashtool...

Have u tried Sony's update manager??

I just fixed!! Thanks guys so much! I really appriciate your help!!

If u are back on a running phone, format the system once from CMW...& a stock ROM from Sony will solve all ur problems...

Why is this is the development section? Xda has rules for a reason, and you need to follow them. Moderator please move this to Q&A.

Sorry but when I realised I had posted it in the wrong section, it was too late. I tried to delete it but could not.

root error - aborted. now arc won't start anymore, nor flash. help me plz

I was trying to root my xperia arc.
i started flashtool, everything went alright. then error -aborted.
now phone can't start anymore, I can't do anything with it.
plz help me
You have to tell a little more to get the right help.
Bootloader locker or unlocked?
What firmware did you use when rooting the device?
What did you use to root, Gingerbreak?
i'm sorry
bootloader locked, never touched that
i never touched anything. I'm on 2.3.3, so I was trying to get back to rootable version.
its when i was trying to flash it to previous version that flashtool aborted. saying : power on go to settings and turn on ressources and debugging.
but i can't do anything with. It doesn't even start up.
thx
no prob, can imagine you're upset
did you try to flash it again?
How was your battery when starting in the first place?
Did you try to start up with power cable plugged in?
wow i just tried sony ericsson update service, and now the phone seems to start up.
the mistake i did i think is that i forgot to reinstall the sd card before starting to flash it.
as i'm writing this the phone is correctly working. so now was the sd card remove the mistake ?
1st option
I would say unlock the bootloader and reflash with the newest firmware, or you could just try this
2nd option
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
I had the same problem (but my boot loader was unlocked) and it sorted it out, I thought it was just flashtool but it isnt theres special files in the firmware folder that unbrick the arc, let us know how you get on. try the 2nd option first
If its working now then it was a semi brick, option 2 fixes them no problem, try reflashing if you get the same problem just use the 2nd option afterwards and it will work fine
@grat_master
dunno bout the sd card, but glad SEUS did the trick for you.
@yusuo
can you unlock your bootloader when the device won't even start?
anyways, things worked out, no need to do more i think
ok so now the phone is working correctly.
but i tried it a second time to flash with flashtool, and it did the same thing. flash aborted, power on go to settings and turn on ressources and debugging.
what am i doing wrong ? i'm following namaste guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133650
but it just doesn't work.
yes you can, you put it in fast boot mode (turn phone off, then hold back button and plug usb in while still holding back button)
If is still doesnt turn on after use the brick fix (option 2)
Seemingly others have had problems too..
Common reasons:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162492&page=2
And try running flashtool as administrator and make sure you have the lt15.sin in loaders directory..
Unlocking bootloader is good if you want to install a custom ROM.. But u void your warranty and loose DRM (If you care bout those that is..)
LT15.sin is already in loader directory
and I'm also running it as admin, I also disabled user control.
Which firmware are you trying to flash, the UK or HK version? Maybe it's a corrupt file?
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
i live in canada, and i'm using a rogers branded phone, samething as in the video of namaste guide.
i am trying to flash north america generic and world generic, neither worked.
Have you tried removing the battery after flashing, and then putting it back and then boot up?
Sent from my LT15i
it can't flash !
i am not able to flash anything, it stops before end and the phone remains in flash mode even if I deconnect usb cable. I can connect it back to pc without pressing back button and the green light is on again. that's after the flashing crash.
now the phone is ok, I can go internet, receive give calls, but I still have my sms problem that I have since beginning. I'm sending it back again to sony for repairs. HAHA I received it from repairs yesterday, and I got exactly same problem as before. I hope they change it. I think my phone is broken /end of story. Broken from beginning.
Anyway, I'm heading back to my Rogers detailer now to see what they can do again.
Thx for help. I'll try to root again when I get it back.
Okay, good luck, hope you get a replacement!
my service provider Rogers Canada is sending me a new Xperia Arc, should receive it in 3-4 days. As soon as I receive it, I'm gonna try root.
I'll let you know if it's working or not.
ok so i received my new xperia arc. now my sms problems are solved ! hourra
but i still can't flash it to root. It just don't want to do it.
what am I doing wrong ? I'll try a new ftf file. Can it be related to a bad sd card ?

[Q] 'soft' brick r800x help

i ran into a unique situation with my experimental r800x... i rooted it and got CMW recovery although i have a locked bootloader. i tried installing a stock based custom rom and was successful. the only problem was i forgot to wipe my data clean which i believe is causing me to be stuck in spash screen. i have no idea if it is a hard brick or not.
the situation is unique because i can still use adb... but i cannot use adb shell, i tried booting into recovery but i am still stuck in spash screen. is there a way to fix this problem? thank god i did not do this on my brand new xperia =P

ok ill give it a shot, i messed with flashtool a little but had little to do for me since most of the things i explored required fastboot.
UPDATE: ok i figured out that i was supposed to put the ftf files in the firmware folder... is say 'preparing files for flashing'... but the loading bar has not moved for a few minutes now...
UPDATE x 2: its flashing, it turns out i needed to install drivers for my phone to be recognized. the stepping stone helped a lot man thanks!
HELP!!!
Hello,
I'm sure that i have messed up my R800x. It is stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo when i try to boot it. This happened when I tried to flash my first ROM. It was a UK firmware for R800x(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263183&page=6). I tried to get the hardware keys to work, but failed miserably, and here I am. Can anyone try to help? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Xperia Play R800at stuck in boot loop (never rooted)

Hi,
This is my brother's phone, and he tells me he went to use it the other day and the phone was off. When he turned it on it would show the "Sony Ericsson" screen, then the AT&T logo and back to the Sony screen, and the loop continues. The only way to make it stop is to remove the battery.
His phone is stock and has never been rooted or unlocked. I tried flashtools but can't use it because the phone has a locked boot loader. I tried to unlock it through the Sony mobile site, but can't because it asks to go to the menu of the phone which I cannot do for obvious reasons to verify if it is unlockable. I tried to do so anyway, but the instructions say that you press the "search" key while connecting it to the computer and a BLUE LED would turn on, this phone turns on Orange. At this point I am stuck and don't have a clue what can be done now.
What I really want is to just get the phone working, it doesn't matter if it goes back to stock or if it will have a custom firmware, just to get it working again.
I appreciate if someone points me to the right direction on what I can do to restore the phone. Any tutorials or instructions related to this specific issue. I have found multiple threads similar to this but all involved previously rooted/unlocked phones. Also, I mostly use Linux so any instructions for Linux users would be great.
Thanks
You don't. Need to unlock it top use flash tool. Download an ftf for the phone. And choose flash mode in flash tool. Then choose the ftf you want to flash. And it will tell you to unplug the phone and plug it back in while holding the back button. A green led should turn on then it should flash the data and reboot and it will be back to stock

As above, Flashtool doesn't require an unlocked bootloader. A link to the stock R800at firmwire here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399
Thanks! This worked perfectly, I mistakenly downloaded what Sony calls "Flashtool" on the Sony mobile site (named "Emma" when installed).
Any idea what could have happened to the phone in the first place to render it unbootable?
Again thanks for your help!
Could be the cache/dalvik partitions messing up. Usually when I get the same problem I just pop into recovery and clear these, but that does require root.
Quite strange for it to happen on a stock, non-rooted device though. Is the device working now?

You don't need root to have recovery, unlocked bootloader is enough. Just saying

[Q] [SOLVED] Tried installing CM 10.1.0 RC5 Odin now the screens just black

Well, after a series of rooting and trying to get CWM recovery on my Xperia ZL and getting SuperSU I decided it was time to update to CM 10.1.0 RC5 Odin I didn't unlock my bootloader cause I don't know how, to my knowledge of a video I saw online if your phone says that you cannot unlock your bootloader than you can't. So I just thought it was okay to install CM 10.1.0 and did so, now my phone is stuck in infinite reboot without any sort of logo and just stuck at a black screen. I was wondering if any of you guys can help me solve this :\ thanks!

If you can still access CWM Recovery you can try to restore a backup of your old system. Otherwise you will have to flash an FTF using Flashtools.
(You can find the FTF that belongs to your phone here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2094).
If it is your first time using Flashtools you can search here in xda for guides, there are many that explain how to flash a FTF
And, as I said in another post before, every rom that needs to flash a Kernel (CM10.1, PAC, ReVolt, etc) you must have an unlocked bootloader unless it's tagged as a stock based rom.

I love you so much man, thanks a lot. I'm going to try out a couple of methods to at least restore the phone to 4.1.2. Do you have any advice on how to unlock the bootloader or any roms that doesn't require an unlocked bootloader?
Edit: By the way, I can't access CWM I wish I could, but I tried pressing the hard OFF button on the back of the phone and I tried pressing every button as well, it doesn't connect to my laptop or computer at all. Any way I can connect it to reset it?

Actually all Stock Roms (Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2094) don't require an unlocked bootloader, but if you want to unlock it so you can install Custom Roms (Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2095) that are not Stock based here is a very nice Tutorial about how to do the Unlock Bootloader procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261

You are the boss man, thanks a bunch I was so worried about my phone. I just got it and was about to unlock it for a company that's super cheaper than all the other phone companies. I'm currently flashbooting it so I can restore it. I will take a peak at the bootloader unlocking procedure and I'm going to thank you again for your help.
Edit: My phone is being recognized in Flashmode only and randomly disconnects and reconnects. I hope I can flash it when the .zip is done downloading. I'll keep you posted.
Edit 2: I'm stuck on FlashTools "Reading Device Information" :\ now I'm stuck at 7% of Flashing Data and it hasn't moved

I would recommend you to flash this FTF first because you need to recover your android system first so you can move files in and out, install recoveries, etc. After doing so you can continue with that rom

Do a hard reset on it (using the button on the back), don't turn it on and follow the Flashtools flashing process
1.- Open Flashtools
2.- Flash mode > Flashmode > Select the FTF you just downloaded (The one of 700+MB) > Flash
3.- Connect your Phone if Flash mode (It will start flashing).
4.- Boot your phone and you're ready to go.
When selecting the FTF just select it and leave everything as it is and make sure that you have installed the drivers for flashing (
They are where found you installed Flashtools
In a folder called Drivers, open the .exe and Install these:
- Fastboot drivers
- Flashmode drivers
- Xperia Z and SO-02E drivers
If stills doesn't works I can't help any far as that, but I would suggest you that If you are able try to flash it on another computer (It might sound silly but It could actually work ), also make sure that you're running the latest Flashtool which is v0.9.11.0 and can be found here: http://androxyde.github.io/
