[Q] Bad battery

Hi,
I've been using HTC Desire for 6 months and I got this problem lately.
First, please have a look at the battery icon. What does it mean?

Second, during the day use, my phone just freeze for no reason. And when it's freeze, the screen is totally off and the notification light flash 1 green, 2 orange continuously. Then I have to take out the battery, plug it in and turn it on to use. It just happens so randomly.
Third, it happened just now. I played game till the battery gone and left it on the table and went to sleep. But when I woke up, plugin the USB charger (I forgot the main charge at work) and it didnt charge. I turned the phone on and saw the battery icon was like what appears on the screenshot above. I turn it off and on again, the battery became full magically
So what caused all those is the battery? And sometimes when I use the phone for a long time when the battery get hot, it's freeze like I described as well.
Anyone got in the same case as mine?

No one knows?

How can I tell what's keeping my phone awake?

As you can see, something is keeping my phone awake while I'm not using it

How can I find out what it is?

Could that just be phone idle?

But why would it be awake so much when i'm not using it?

Try CPU Spy. That's what I use to show what percent of time the phone was in Deep Sleep for. It doesn't tell you what apps have caused you to wake from Deep Sleep, but should give you better figures

You seem to have poor reception. Maybe its the phone switching from 2G to 3G or switching towers?
I had wake issues on firmware 2.3.3 where the phone would be awake for up to 90% of the time, 2.3.4 seems to have fixed it.

could be apps syncing data in the background?

empty the dalvik cache folder and restart your phone......let the phone setup the cache for each app again .
i was having very bad battery life .. its like just 2hrs off gaming and 5 hrs normal use plus
my message tone use to rang and notification bars shows nothing ... noww ALL is WEll "D

I feel my battery its draining faster than usual

Well I ve been In cm9+franco for long over 3 months now my battery was about 15 hours with 4 hours screen more or less but now it's draining way faster here some pics..
Could someone tell me what's the problem if any?

If your looking for applications to see if apps are taking cpu cycles there is an android info app in the market that can show you all processes and cpu cycles...looking for something that stays near the top and thats probably the issue. Also make sure that you have google now disabled, NFC, and geolocation if you dont check in everywhere. These are built in "very nice" features but they constantly pull your phone out of deep sleep on the move...and god knows we all want 2 hours screen time :highfive:

Rare battery drain

For reasons I cannot pinpoint, my phone occasionally goes into some kind of endless loop with the Geofencer. It generally happens right after I pull it off the charger, but not always. I don't charge overnight and will occasionally go to sleep with 50% battery and perfectly quiet wakelock activity, only to wake up to 3% battery and Google Play Services / Geofencer through the roof. This happens maybe twice a week.
I am aggressive with battery savings. Tasker turns location services off with screen off, and turns them back on with screen on, in battery saving mode. I used to use Aggressive Doze in Greenify but have disabled that and moved to Doze Settings Editor instead. The Geofencer loop occurs either way, with location services disabled. A reboot of the phone seems to be the only fix to get the wakelocks back under control.
I am bootloader unlocked/rooted/S-On with software version 1.53.617.5 because I am lazy and haven't gone to the trouble to manually flash a more recent update.
Is there any way to figure out what app is banging against Google Play Services? I have GSam, Wakelock Detector, and Better Battery Stats.

Problem with Kernel/Proximity Sensor causes Battery Drain

Hi,
I have a problem with my G5S recently. I had already sent it to a service center because of this, but Moto's Partner for repairs in Germany is horribly incompetent, so it came back with the same issues still occuring.
I think the whole thing began with a restart by holding power for 10 seconds some weeks ago. Later that day I noticed the infrared sensor on the phone's back to glow permanently red, much brighter than normal. It is the one left to the camera. This is even the case if I power down the phone, only with 0 battery the sensor goes off until I recharge.
With this sensor bug comes a massive battery drain, the phone never seems to go into deep sleep mode, the battery stats in the settings show a ongoing bar under active time. I made some screenshots of GSam Battery Monitor, maybe someone can tell me how to stop the process which holds the device active. The phone has no root or any modification by the way.
