I'm sure you could have come up with something a little more intelligent\thoughtful\useful as your first post to the site if only you'd tried a little harder... ;-)
Smiffy.
Hi, Im sorry but I did really search before posted this question. It is because there are many threads and become scattered n chaotic...
Therefore I need to ask and expect information is post under my thread...
THere are too many articles of upgrade and some are old tech or SPL..but it is just as simply as just
SPLv.7
rom
Therefore, I wish you can understand my point and also thanks for the guys to be patient to non-techy users like me

[Q] ASUS FONEPAD (ME372CG / K00E) How to root?

Of course, ASUS-Support won't encourage you to root, so they won't help you.
Don't forget: for EVERY Android device ever made, there is a way to root it. You just have to use the right method.
I looked on the internet, there are no specific root methods for your tablet, so you need a universal method.
Try SRSRoot, browse for it, download and install. Just try, it won't harm your device.
But before rooting don't forget: Are the proper drivers installed? Is USB-Debugging enabled?
Those 2 things must be done before rooting.
Hope this helps you with rooting your ASUS Fonepad.
SRSRoot - does not work
OneClicRoot - does not work
Framaroot 1.6.1 - does not work
Kingo Android root - does not work
we must looking for something else.

Now, does anyone know when the damn thing will be available in the UK? Asus won't tell me. No-one will tell me. Or maybe someone's took a chance and bought from Germany or Taiwan...

Oh right, I guess botto00 will create root for 372 if asked politely. I suppose the second method (Cydia Impactor) is the same.
If I couldn't root 372 I wouldn't bother buying it.
Thanks for your posts. I hope there would be a possibility to root that device, soon.
I need a way to make a complete backup.
NEW ASUS Fonepad 7 (me372cg) (k00e)
are you tellin me ASUS is more sophisticated than Samsung devices?
Ähh I will say it so:
Samsung is good in repairing their devices. ... Other Manufacturers don't need to be that.

Is there a topic here talking about these things?
Also I've read about upgrading to 4.2.2... is this update official or will damage my warranty?
Thanks in advance

I found nothing !!
Some "sand grains"
Hi,
Have you ever hacked any android device? (some concepts are valid to all android devices and some are specific).
I could explain some (general) terms and concepts if you want.
Anyway, there is a lot of info in this forum (XDA in general).
Good luck !!
Update. Look this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389973

Which device model can't you root? I have an ST-113 ("Tab 3 Lite VE" apparently) that is giving me no end of problems with rooting. Haven't got a solution yet.
