Stuck on Google splash screen..getting desperate. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

First off I have a Verizon gnex. My phone was all fine and dandy running CM9 on ICS, then I installed CM10 and it was working great until I would get weird bootloops at the Google screen. Eventually it would boot, I guess it's some sort of file check or something? But it was really making me mad.
I tried wiping everything and installing CM9 again but it was still stuck and when it eventually booted, nothing was changed! I still had CM10 and all my apps/data were there. Weird I thought, so I just kept using my phone trying to find a fix and trying to not let it die.
I did a factory reset and it seemed to make the process of getting passed the Google screen faster up until last night...it died and did not want to get past the Google screen. So I ran Odin with all the factory images and what not and thought it was going to work..but nope same problem.
Also my recovery will not work and I tried to flash it again but if I hold up and down volume and power and choose recovery it will just restart and be back at the google screen.
PLEASE HELP! I just shelled out 280 bucks for this used because I didn't want to lose my unlimited data and now I can't even use my phone!

I've waited up to 15 min sometimes on JB. Just be patient. Flash the Verizon JB boot loader if you haven't already. It's here on XDA somewhere

I've waited way more than 15 minutes..it will just keep going and going until it freezes or dies.
edit: also I'm not even on JB, stock ICS.

Is anyone else having the same problem? Anyone have suggestions on what I should do?

Flash the stock images using fastboot instead of ODIN.
See if that will work.

Well i just went back and tried that again and it finally let me boot but it soon went back into bootloop madness. I did it again and it booted up gain but of course went back into the loop. Now injust tried it again and that wont even work now..

I have the same problem, but when using JB ROMs...

Followed that thread, but didnt really see exactly how you went about fixing it. What method is in the exe you created?

Do you have a VZW Nexus (toro)? I can post my EXE if so.

Soft-Bricked Telus Galaxy S2X

Hello, new here.
My Galaxy S2X is soft-bricked because i decided to flash a stock telus rom onto it with Odin[Previously i had Mr.X's Rooted rom] All it does now is boot up, goes through a boot loop (S Logo). I cannot go into Recovery mode but i can go into download mode. I tried flashing different roms but with no luck.
Any help please
sounds to me like you should go to the right forums. i think your phone is the same as the TMobile 989 and the AT&T/Rogers 727
definitely isnt the i777 which is the forum you are currently in

If you can get into download mode you are good. You have to flash a stock Telus ROM in Odin. I am not sure what caused your soft brick the first time around, but make sure you follow the directions exactly and do not check "repartition" in Odin.

Have you tried other Stock Telus builds?
Umm... did u try flashin cwm again through odin, using adb on pc to reboot to recovery, wiping user data and flashing LE4. Radio then reboot?
Also, just a reminder, don't expect it to boot right up, stock has a good amount of bloat (telus is nowhere near as bad as tmo, but its still there)
It will take longer then normal too boot, give it at least 10min before callin it quits

Thanks, flashing Recovery again and then wiping the user data worked.
Thanks man
Hey guys, I was playing around on my phone, and I downloaded something off of 4shared (just a game) and it crashed and made my phone freeze. I then held my power button and waited for it to boot but now im stuck in a bootloop with the stock telus rom... is there anything I can do that wont wipe everything on my phone? Oh and I can get into both CWM recovery and download mode.
EDIT: I gave it some more time to startup and it pretty much factory reseted my phone. I get that thing to setup my phone after startup. Everytime I turn my phone off it goes back to this screen and my phone restarts. If I surf through the files of my phone, it shows I still have everything but It doesnt show any of my apps or anything.

Posting this question in a very old thread probably isn't your best move. Maybe start a new thread?? This thread didn't have a post since July and its not even the same issue as you.
Just my advice!

installed CM9 RC2 and stuck on animation, also recovery disappeared

so I have a rooted Nitro, and I just installed CM9 RC2 (previously running RC1)
When I boot up, it gets stuck on the animation, which I know happens a lot
however, I can't get back into recovery to wipe and reflash
when I start my phone while holding Volume Down, it goes to the factory hard reset screen like it should, I press Power twice, but instead of booting into recovery, it restarts and tries to boot CM9
I don't really know what to do since I can't get into recovery
Is your battery low, by any chance? If it is, see if you can get it to boot into the charging mode by plugging in power while it's off.

I'm not 100 percent positive it's the ONLY way, but it's definitely A way. And I feel your pain, it took 8 hours of trial and error to unbrick mine. (long, ****y story) you may be able to just flash the Korean kdz, root, install Rom manager to get cwm, and flash from there, skipping moving all the img files and adb stuff, that's what I did. If you do it that way flash honos ics leak first to get your baseband and stuff right though

Same here, try to restore LG ROM now, hope good luck!
looks like your gonna be the 1st to try the new unbricking guide!! :good: let's us know how it goes................................
unbricked on korean firmware
I forgot to rename the .kdz
EDIT- rooted on fourth try
Restore LG ROM Done! After restored, do wipe, now, go back to LG ROM.
just updating my thread
I have RC2 running on it now with no problems
general use feels a lot faster than RC1 so I'm pretty happy with it
quadrant score is also now slightly above the Atrix 4G, which makes me feel a bit better about upgrading from that (it broke)
however, when I'm going to the homescreen or leaving the homescreen, my homescreen with a black background pops up for a fraction of a second before doing whatever (don't know how to better describe it)
it's obviously just a bug and it doesn't really bother me, but I thought I would point it out
nice works, always good to see peeps get it done.
hey, could you link from here to the successful de-bricking guide that worked for you?

a few notes:
I don't think you need any of the image files if you're just flashing CM9 or HO!NO! or something
when you download the .kdz file, you have to rename it to V10F_00.kdz or else it will not work because the name is too long (seriously, I spent hours on this)
when you flash the .kdz file, if it stops at 4%, and within 60 seconds it says something about a connection failure, it didn't work. if it stops at 4% but doesn't say anything, keep waiting and watch your phone's screen
the good ole machzelot debrick always works for me too!
one more question, might as well ask it in here
how do I get my 64gb microSD card working in CM9?
I know the card works and the phone can read it because it works fine when mounted in recovery, but when I put it in my phone, it just says it's damaged, and when I try to format it, it says it's being checked then says it's damaged again

expererienced flasher... ran into a tough boot loop :(

So i've tried wicked, an lots of cm10 nightlies, ive been flashing android custom roms for years and years. But after using the very buggy frosty JB i tried odining back to stock and ive ran into a ugly ugly boot loop that i CANNOT fix. I found this thread for verizon s3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
And im wondering if anyone knows of similar boot loop files for the s3, or hey if you ahve any idea of what i can try lol. Ive tried odining back to origional stock, stock root uv2 and stock rooted uv4. it passes odin and gets stuck on theh samsung boot logo EVERY TIME.. Pls help a brotha oout.
I'm assuming you reset factory defaults after trying to flash ICS on top of JB?
i always thought odin did a factory reset as part of its process, it does have a box marked by default to do so. No i did not. I just began to odin. Can i do a factory reset at this point?

ya i though it might be a corrupt file so i tried quite a few. Trick was for some reason i had to have my phone plugged into my computer (kies was up dont' know if that made a difference) and then i was able to boot to recovery, factory reset, and then it booted right up. Moral of the story i guess is factory reset before any flash. blah. Thanks guys. Also frosty JB is horendous. did not work out well for me even while i was using it.

[Q] Stuck on boot after unroot

Sorry for posting a new thread but I want to make sure I am heading in the right direction. I bought a Galaxy S3 yesterday that was rooted. I want to put it back to stock ROM. I downloaded Odin and the ATT Stock ROM's. Everything went ok and passed without fail, but my phone is stuck on boot. Googling around I found a how to where I could run CWM Recovery, but it seems like this is for rooted devices stuck at boot. I am looking to go back to stock. Will this work or is there something else I am missing? Thanks and I will begin searching on the forum for help.
Edit: My phone does go into dowload mode.

Great. Thanks for that link. I actually found that video and was looking for the drivers. I noticed the one he linked if for Sprint. My phone is ATT though. I clicked on the ATT link a little further down in his description where it says AT&T USA. I am assuming this is the correct file to install right? Now is that the TAR file or the drivers? He didnt post an AT&T link for one of those.

Ok I followed QBkings video and everything worked fine and passed but I am still stuck on the Samsung screen. I know he mentioned factory reset but he did it once he was already into the actual phone. Mine wont get in.
You guys are all beasts! Thanks a million for the help. Factory reset finally worked! My phone didnt reset by itself though.
Well I see you must have been able to fix your phone!
It must be like the Atrix 2, but instead of FXZ restoration w/ RSD Lite, you use TAR files and Odin

About an hour ago my phone shut off at 26% battery (16gb galaxy S3 running CM10.1 nightly 01/16). As I went to turn it back on it will boot into the CM splash screen spin a few times and just shut off. I attempted to charge it, and turn it back on but same thing. After that an attempt to get into CWM, which I was able to get in and it shut off while I was in it. I also tried putting the phone in download mode and about the same time frame it took for the other attempts resulted in a shut down.
Any advice? Or am I stuck doing a warranty exchange?

Sounds like its your battery not a hardware problem. Leave it overnight or a couple hours charging and if it indeed boots up its your battery.
If it doesn't then flash stock and test it if the same result then call up that Warranty. I've seen this same issue with other devices where the battery dies at 50%+ and usually replacing the battery fixes the problem. Test your battery for overheating or swollen.

Even better then lol just test it out at work. I'm about 80% its your battery specially if you OV/UC.
I have the t-mobile US t999.
Last night I was having an odd issue with the networking dropping. I've had the phone for about a month, modded since day 1 with a CM10 variation of a rom (sorry, I forget the exact rom). I had no issues whatsoever up until this point. After a few restarts thinking maybe it was a fluke issue with the network, or network signal in my room, the phone forced itself into emergency call mode only. I couldn't get it to come out.
So I decided I was going to odin on a stock rom as I could get it into download mode, that went through successfully. When the phone boots, I get the android taking off (Tmobile 4g) logo. Then the white samsung logo, and it doesn't go beyond this. I know this can take long so I left it there for about an hour, nothing. The phone also displays a blue led the entire time it's hanging as well.
Also worth noting, when I attempt to boot into recovery it just vibrates over and over.
Not sure what my next steps should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after you odin, you need to wipe data/ factory reset to boot. If you can't get into recovery ( Power, Home Button, and Volume Up), then try reflashing your stock image in Odin and check your MD5 sum, so you can rule out a bad download
Thanks for the reply, I'm re-downloading the stock rom now to verify it's integrity and do a new flash. I cannot get into recovery, so we will see after the new flash. Pleading ignorance on one subject, how would I go about checking the MD5 sum to verify the file has no issues?
Additionally I did try to Odin recovery and still could not boot into it, this was however before attempting to re-download and flash a stock rom again.
**Edit//Update** Re-downloaded and flashed stock rom, was able to get into recovery and wipe, booted up fine.
Wow.. great idea for a thread and THANK YOU!!
Perfect timing too cause i need a little help please.
I am not new to android but new to samsung (WOW, didnt realize it would be so different from HTC ont he rooting and flashing side of things).
Long story short. I have a tmo s3. Bought it today and wanted to root. phone was working perfectly as it shoudl on stock rom unrooted. I downloaded the tool kit v7, used that to root adn install TWRP and rebooted into the stock rom that is now rooted. Still everything working perfect.
Here is what i did next and where the issues start.
Downloaded Synergy r290, went to recovery.
Wiped Cache, Dalvik, Data, and System (made a backup first)
flashed the rom and rebooted to system
However, nothing ever happened. I see the samsung logo, then all goes black and nothing happens (left it there for 10min)
I cant seem to get back into recovery holding vol up, home and power either and have no adb access to use that. I AM able to get into download mode which i know i can fix my problem here with odin, but i am just not sure what to flash and where.
Is there an easier way??
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you absolutely can't get into recovery to restore your backup..
Flash the UVDLJA root66 file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 via odin. You will have the latest UVDLJA JB update, and will be rooted. From there, install goo manager from the play store to flash TWRP.
After that you're all set to flash whatever you want (just make sure it's for the Tmobile s3).

Just upload the file to PDA and hit start. Make sure to let it finish completely, once the phone reboots, it's done.

Flashing stock with Odin can take up to ten minutes its normal like the man said above just let it do its thing

Let's see if you have any solution for me?
Weird problem. When I set kernel frequencies on my phone, they at some point get locked at the maximum frequency. This has happened every time I flash a new ROM or kernel, and I'm worried that it will soon start to affect the battery. I'm using the msmdvcs governor on both kernels that I've tried (stock and faux)
