most lightweight rom with touchpads working fully??????? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

basically I been using gin 2 jellybean but it seems so slow, my favorite rom is true ancestor but it's not stock based so no touchpads, so what roms do you use? I need something extremely lightweight and fast with 100% working stock based touchpads on ALL GAMES.
unlocked bootloader, GSM R800i
Thanks

I have been using gin2jellybean and it does feel slow sometimes, I would stick with stock Rom debloated and doom kernel as you have unlocked your bootloader and possibly v6 supercharger

thanks I was also thinking that, will see what others say. what supercharger options do you suggest?
EDIT just noticed my launcher and keyboard use 40mb ram each, what is the most lightweight keyboard and launcher? currently using 360 launcher and SwiftKey 3

lightning launcher is very very light in mb usage and I use the stock keyboard which dosent use much, in v6 supercharger I use nitro lag and option 7

no it doesn't try games like 9mm, mc3 and asphalt 7

I would try Holo launcher, it works on GB and ICS and JB roms and its packed with tons of features and its app size is less then 1mb. It defaults to using ICS icons for apps, but in launcher appearance settings you can select icon pack as "none" and the launcher will use whatever icons your rom is built with. Its between 10-13mb of ram usage as well.

I agree with the Holo Launcher It worked fine for me, i went back to ics 4.0.4

Try GlazedICS with the FXP-Turbo1 Kernel. I went from the LuPuS Kernel to the FXP-Turbo1 one and it made a HUGE difference!!

Okay:I'm able to run GTA3 at max distance, everything turned up high and max resolution with only a bit of stuttering the first few mins then it runs perfect.
Dead Trigger runs on max full speed and CODBOZ runs full speed
Touchpads work perfect.
What I did:
Flashed .58 enhanced firmware.
Flashed doom kernal
Flashed TrueAncestor 1.6 lite
Flashed the doom kernal wifi tweaks
Flashed the ZRAM enabler for Doom Kernal
Then finally flashed the TEAM ROM (I like the theme)
I deleted a bunch of system apps I dont use such as:
Keyboard (replaced with Swiftkey3 Pro)
Laucher (replaced with Smart Launcher Pro)
Email
Its really lightweight - nothing installed that needs to be installed

Im new to xperia play and... i want to know whats the best custom rom for gb and ics. my friend told me that the best for gb is trueancestor... is it really good? on ics, he told me xdark ics rom is the best, is it?
It's a matter of preference,
I use CM9 RC2
For Gingerbread, I love the rom Gin2Jellybean
I use cm9 rc 2 with fxp Turbo 1 kernel. Very smooth so far for the most part .

Camera works fine, The only browser related problem I've came across was when I went to youtube.com instead of the app then proceeded to skip a few minutes into the video... then I got a message saying the browser is not responding... other than that it's awesome, one complaint tho. The sound QUALITY is better but the sound VOLUME is lower than the stock GB.

Best Custom Rom For Xperia Play

I can't seem to find a Rom that im just 100% happy with. I've tried various GB and ICS roms but still am not happy. I like to play the Asphalt racing series and every rom I've tried on still lags. My Xperia Play 4G I've had unbranded bootloader unlocked and have tried cyanogenmod 7 and 9, I've tried the official ICS, nxt, true ancestor, and various other roms. I don't understand swap file or swap partition usage. Im also a user of supercharger v6 script which im not sure if it actually works. Please advise me.

what ICS Official do you use ? is this what you mean ?
i plan to flash this ROM to my Xperia Play , and i plan to unlock the bootloader of my device
what you mean missing the game play ? is the game play getting more laggy on that ROM ?
Yes thats the ics Rom im talking about. I call it official because Sony has been helping that developer finish it. But asphalt 6 and 7 lag on it but very playabe. GTA 3 is unplayable.(same with all ics roms) nova 3 lags. Gingerbread is just what our xperia plays are meant to run. PsXperia games converted for GB are also unsupported. Meaning only ps1 games can play on ics are the small list of officials from the store. so if you want a gaming phone stay with a GB stock or custom rom. Im using 2.3.3 stock with lupus kernel o.c. to 1500ghz and supercharged

hmmm so some games is still uncompatible with the ROM :crying: even the converted ps pocket games with PSXperia :crying:
but isn't ICS has improved memory management for running apps ? then why the game is more laggy & incompatible
based on your testimonial i guess i cancel my plan to unlock bootloader and flash this ICS ROM + custom kernel , for now
until markphyton can make the very stable release ( let's just hope so ) hehehe
i currently using Xperia NXT 1.3 KrisDee with stock kernel ( locked bootloader ), i found this stable custom ROM for GB and great gaming performance
but i have found a few small problem like , missing DLNA feature , cannot like track in music player ( like on facebook ) , cannot sync with senseMe & cannot charge the battery in OFF posistion
Ive had a bad experience gaming on ics. I dont necessarily say ics is unstable. It has came leaps and bounds from where it was on xperia Play its just I think these devices lack the extra hardware requirements. I.e. Cpu,gpu, ram. Gingerbread unfortunately being outdated is still the most stable for gaming. You can still achieve dlna by using es file explorer and setting up ftp with your router, pc. I access all my home files everywhere on my phone.

Unlocking your bootloader is still not a bad $20 investment. The test point method is simple, effective, and fast. You also might be able to find flashable addons for those other options you mentioned. Just saying. Im still happy im unbranded and can flash roms and kernels at my desire.

There is also a version just for gaming and I recommend over clocking and using Lupus Kernel v7. Also you should use something like Ram Booster which helps a lot.
thanks for the help, will try it later. you guys already flashed to 2.1, as this performance, better than the 2.0.8 ?
Hi, just to give my experience.
Updated 2 days ago gin2jellybean from 1.8.1 to 2.0.8 and the performance in games had lag and frame skipping.
I didn`t at that point flashed the stock firmware, today i tested and flashed again, but this time with the stock first then gin; and voilá the performance is again top notch, namely with games from mame etc.
Just my 2 cents.
delete the andrenobooster, What did was causing lags was andrenobooster Now the games are running without lags !!
the new version 2.1.0 this very good, thank vokal1992 :victory::victory:

OTA Updater was removed. Do it manually and download from Gin2JB OP.
I think to get best results in gaming you should use a light GB Rom such as DiXperia or NXT 1.3 with Doomkernel.
Thanks for the answer.
But my problem is on daily use.
Sometimes the Facebook or others Apps just close.
But when I'm playing theres no problem (i'm just use emulators of ps1/snes and GBA).

It only works for modified RAM kernels. Get Liquid Smooth and then get Madridii's 390 or (if you don't normally use your phone for YouTube) 400MB kernels, go to performance and select Very Aggressive in Memory Usage Presets and play on. I played CSR with little lag.

Look at you, you use GB. Yes, its stable but define stable in your terms. LS has most of what you need. GB has far by the worst performance (unmodded that is) and thus, proved by the crash of CSR racing.
If you want to do what Felix said, then use the modified EOLs like OOAK or something like that...

R800X User Recommendations for Firmware and Android

Hello, I recently unlocked the bootloader on my R800x and Rooted it. I then installed lupus JBv8 480p XPLAY along with Super Jellybean v5.5, though now that I've done this, my system is terribly slow.
What alternative should I use? I am not using this as a phone, I just want to use it to run my music software (Oscilab if possible), emulators, and games.
Thanks in advance!

I have both lupus and turbo kernels downloaded for testing purposes on the r800x that I own. I also went with Slim Bean since it is light weight. For Xperia play gaming, it's best to stick with gingerbread roms from what I've read so far. The device is old. Single core stock clock 1ghz (OC to 1.6ghz), adreno 205, ~ 600mb internal (turbo kernel partitioning).
