Hi,
I have the droid incredible 2 (2.3.3) and I was wondering which cyanogenMod supports version 2.3.3? My phone is already rooted with Clockwork.
Thanks
If you want to stay with gingerbread, cm7. If you want to check out ics, cm9. If you want to experiment with jelly bean. Cm10
Sent from Kangdemnation
The only "official" ROM from cyanogenmod is CM7.2. Everything else is "unofficial".
That said, there are a lot of folks who are happy with aeroevan's CM9 and CM10 builds. Read the full threads to get an idea of what issues remain.
Lots of other ROMs, too.
-CM7 on DInc2
For ICS you could also try AOKP or Kangdemnation by CondemnedSoul
Hasta la vista, baby
I'd recommend kangdemnation by cs! I'm running it now and it's as close to perfect as one can expect from an ics build (atleast until we get some source codes or an ota.)

I used CM7 until yesterday, and I had no issue at all with the rom. Yesterday I installed the ParanoidAndroid 1.9.6 and I really like the hybrid rom so far, no complaints with either one.
I have been very pleased with Tasspatriot's ICS using Sense 3.6 Very smooth and everything works. Macrodroid also has a version called Arctic ICSed that can be found on the MikMik forums that is very similar and has a lot of customizable tweaks.

I am putting a custom rom on my wife's phone for the first time. She doesn't really do anything major on her phone. She has gingerbread and it just got rooted. Any suggestions on a good rom to use? Thanks.
Besides being in the wrong section, miui is a great asop rom. If you want a little sense 3.0 check out newt's sensation. Rmk has a debloated version of the latest ota gingerbread if you fancy something more stock.

besides why she needs a custom rom?
I have been trying alot of these out last couple days but i havent tried the sense 3.0 been having best luck with miks new sensation 1.1 though
If you need GSM for international travel, select carefully. Most ROM's don't support it well or at all in many cases. If you are CDMA only, your choices are more solid.
I've tried miui and cm7 and in my opinion cm7 is just a snappier and better ROM. Just my opinion though

CM7? Which one is that?
BTW, as to why she might want a custom rom, speed...right?
Really all of the roms out now are pretty nice...
Being for a girl I'd think shed lean toward liking miui or a sense 3.0 based roms like virtuous or mikroms incredible sensation. The latest version from newtoroot (incredible sensation) has given me the best results. Very fast and stable and newt has been very responsive with the few quirks. by quirks I mean that his version is based on sense 2.1 so there was more he had to do to get the framework to align. It is definitely good enough to be a daily driver now.
Cm7 and omgb/omfgb are probably the fastest roms out. I really like omfgb combined with the tiamat kernel but cm7 is similarly great with more customization options (most of which your wife would likely never use). Omgb/omfgb is very back to basic, pure Android experience.
Rmks gingersense has been mostly my go-to though. Similar to stock, debloated, customizable. Pretty much a set it and forget it option with no issues. The only thing that aosp based roms have that I have an issue with is the incall volume. Tiamats kernel improves this a lot but still not quite where stock sense is in volume level.

MikRom rls 1.1 is sense 3.0 minus 2 features. It's our stock ROM with 3.0 added.

Since I'm new to the Droid incredible 2, I wanna know what others think.
I'm running regular cm9 (aero) rite now and is fine, but I would like more options. I'm forcing my self to not flash ics miui

Honestly, cm9 is probably your best bet. Last I heard, our device specific aokp hadn't been updated in a while. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I run the newest cm9 by areo an miui ics. The newest miui is the smoolest an quickest ICS rom with the .9ics kernel but is harder on the battery than cm9 by areo. Both are really good roms for me aokp is not as smool as either of the other 2.
Aokp has been updated to build 29, which is based off of 4.0.4. It's pretty good overall. Most of the bugs have been worked out. I've ran it for a couple of days now, and really can't complain. Having said that, I restored back to CM9 tonight due to Aeroeven's newest build 4-4-12.
I use Ics reloaded with CM9, so I get most of the custom stuff that I like in Aokp, so really, Aokp and CM9 both work great for me. It's more just a matter of which do I feel like using today.
Digging the 4-04 Aerovan build and the latest Nitsuj MIUI build. I think Aero's build is a tiny bit somoother than the MIUI, but not by too much. Nitsuj is new at MIUI, but these builds of his are getting better and better.
Try them both.
Whats the most stable 4.0.4 based rom? I love AOKP and ive been running M4. But im looking for more of a newer system based rom. The battery life from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 i believe is a hell of alot better.
Flash the newer build of Aokp its rebased off 4.0.4. It's been out for quite a while

No stability problems using AOKP build 31. Try it out.

BAMF....
Android revolution HD 3.0.0 is awesome... although I think its pretty much the same as stock with a few minor tweaks.

Well you're like one of the only ones with issues. And the OP asked for a stable ROM , not a lame-not ROM. I'm personally running CM myself , just threw a suggestion let him test the waters and pick the best one that works for him.
MIUI

Official CM 9, is bulletproof stable. And has longest lasting battery life out of the dozen ROM's I have tried.
I can't even imagine how awesome RC1 of CM9 will be.

Another vote for stock 4.0.4. Currently using my own build of aosp. Deodexed, rooted+busybox. Quite stable.
I've bounced around to several of the roms mentioned here and I have to say all of them have been pretty stable. I've used several for over a month, others weeks at a time. I'm on MIUI now.
All are pretty stable. The differences are the extra features and speed. Some stagger while others zip along. I'm sure most work well now. Most will have the same common extra features normal in a custom rom. Most of them look and feel the same after you get it setup.
My problem is I'm getting bored. The roms are so stable and perfect that I have no reason to flash and most devs aren't putting out many updates because of this. Only CM9 and AOKP update nightly. Others go for weeks. I'm was running Axi0m from March 4th. I finally got the itch to switch to MIUI.
I'm waiting on Gummy to release a new rom and Team Bamf.

Looks like CM has more popularity then i thought. Ive ran with 4.0.4 AKOP but it seemed problemmatic to me. I also run francos kernel. And always update to the latest nightly.
Maybe ill give Build 31 a shot again. Im tempted to try CM9 now though. Although i thought with 2nd init roms like CM9, atleast thats what they called them when i had it on the droid x. It was feature filled, but battery life was terrible.
AOKP b31- Francos Kernel
I recently bought my Galaxy Nexus. Immediately rooted it and tried a couple of ROMS. I was looking for stability with features.
I finally installed Milestone 4 and found it stable; however, not smooth or fast enough as 4.03. After seeing all comments in the AOKP thread I tried B31. Have been using it for 3 days with Francos Kernel Milestone 2.
I love the features, stability and smoothness with which the ROM works and have had no FCs or reboots at all.
In my view-If you want stability with a host of features then, nothing better than AOKP B31 with Francos kernel.
All the best with the upgrade.
Bluetooth Problems
Did CM9 and/or AOKP get the bluetooth problems ironed out that I read was introduced by 4.0.4? That's one feature that has to work for me.
Using Liquid Smooth Rom 1.25 - Pretty stable and fast, a lot of neat features ...
Flashed imoseyon leanKernel v3.2.1 but my phone was heating up (Didn't even touch the processor speed or voltage ) now using Franco Kernel (Battery life not good) - Give it a try, maybe the above mentioned kernels might work for you ....
Now going to try Trinity .....
Which ICS rom do you prefer and why?
Currently AOKP due to reliability, tweak-ability, and speed. Blazing fast for me on Build 33.

I am on decks pb22 and it has been rock solid for me. I tried out AOKP 31 and had tons of random restarts so I bailed on AOKP, at least temporarily. I have not tried gummy or drew. Gummy looked promising but last I checked it still only had partial HWA and that is a deal breaker for me.

33 is amazing. Way better than 31 for my phone.
Isn't AOKP sacrificing camera for HWA and vice versa?
Um MIUI?

jamie's QWIK based on Evervolv is rock solid. Using it for a few days now with no unexpected concerns
ya in my personal experiance kwiq ics has been the most stable as of late (aokp 33 has been real close tho maybe a cleaner flash or something would make it better) but kwiq is a in its early stages unlike aokp and decks so you lose some customization but i believe they are on the way. gummy was also more stable than previous aokp builds but has not progressed recently but i am excited to see what comes of it but also was smoother than aokp but lacks hwa
I've tried all ICS roms but kwiks ICS so I can't comment oh his. I've been running swipers MIUI ICS for months and it stable as a brick **** house.

I am running decks ICS pb23 and it is super stable no real issues with it other then the fact the front camera and 4g dont work
I've flashed all the roms mentioned and all of them seem to have the same problem for me. They all start off fine and then after a few days I will run into random reboots. ICS is not stable enough for me to be a daily, but it getting there.

Honestly I'm a bit surprised at how little people talk about Evervolv. It's an amazingly smooth ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 and everything works except the 4G which is expected from an ICS Rom go check out Evervolv on Twitter @preludedrew Trust me it's well worth it I've been following it since the original release.

is HWA on AOKP yet?
Yes. HWA has been on AOKP since b31.
As for preludedrew, I wish his rom had more for customization. But I am well aware that he is to be credited for ANY of us running ICS at all on Evo. So despite my not using his ROM, I def regard him and cayniarb and mongoosehelix as heroes for all is Evo owners. Without them, we'd likely still be hosed for ICS.

I was running Evervolv for the longest....he just doesn't update it enough and I'm a flashaholic.
Hi all,
After 2 years with the my beloved DINC (actually my 4th replacement) I am now getting a DINC2 from Asurion. I hadn't flashed anything since last year when I moved from CM7 to MIUI until a few weeks ago when I flashed to Abduction ICS. I love that ROM! It is well laid out, good looking, andruns great. It was like getting a new phone for me. Unfortunately my audio jacked borked so bye bye dinc.
I have looked around a bit in development here. I saw the sticky about not flashing the Chinese RUUs and not downgrading the bootloader. Can anyone suggest a ROM I might like? I'm hoping just to find a good one, get everything configured and not mess around flashing for awhile.
Thanks
For ICS roms, CM9 and AOKP are the two big ones. AOKP has more options and customization, but aeroevan's cm9 is modded specifically for our phone so it runs smoother. If you do use aokp, use aero's kernel with it. Personally, I switch between the two as new features come out.
If you're looking for a sense rom, nitsuj's TSM UltimateKangBang is very nice, I personally can't stand sense but I did flash that for a day and it was pretty smooth.

Thanks Proto that is very helpful. I'll probably try both CM9 and AOKP before I start configuring everything for myself. I use third party launchers, Apex right now, sense makes no sense anyway.
I personally prefer cm9. Aero released a version with some linaro tweaks that make the from even faster.

well i have the later firmware that comes with replacements from Vz. It appears I can't root unless I downgrade the bootloader and that seems to cause other e . Apparently this is only a problem with sense roms but I am going to wait for the expected ICS OTA this summer. What I want most is tethering and the ability to make Titanium and Nandroid backups. I have tethering so I can wait.
Thanks
The MIUI is really cool right now. From before, the rom had some graphical glitches whenever i downloaded files from my school website. Its partially fixed. Overall, i dig it. I cant wait until all the bugs are fixed.
