Hello. I'm new to smart phones. I saw Super GNES in the app store. I installed the Lite version and noted that FFIII rom ran just fine. I eventually found out about SNES9X EX and installed that from explusalpha.com. When I attempt to play the ROM I see the controller come up on screen, but nothing happens. There is no video or audio for the rom. I also tried Super Mario World. Same thing, work on Super GNES, but not SNES9X EX. I tried another emu from the app store and it's the same deal as SNES9X EX. My phone is not rooted, but as I understood I shouldn't have to do that. I've checked to make sure Super GNES isn't the default, which it's not. I've also tried uninstalling Super GNES and running SNES9X EX to no avail. The way I got the rom on the phone was by putting it into drive and making it available offline on the phone, could this be the reason? I've tried moving the ROM to the downloads folder using Android file manager, still not working. The rom is a .smc which I believe works on SNES9X EX. Any help is appreciated.

I have a problem with the Snes emulators, The thing is, None of them work.
i've tried every emulator available, and all of them do not work.
The app opens and the menus are fine, but when i open any game i get a black screen and that's it.
The only game that worked for me so far is a hack of Super Metroid, And it worked on all the emulators.
the games i have tried so far:
Super Metroid.
Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 and ultimate 3.
The only game i really want to work is super metroid.
I use Snesoid and don't have any problem. Maybe the problem is your ROM files. Try download the elsewhere.
What format are the files you are trying?
I finally got it to work.
I found out that the problem was with the files type. It must be .SFC not .SMC
Thanks for helping.
.smc files should work too. 90% of my files are .smc and they work perfectly fine.
SNESoid FC's on me, so I started using SuperGSNES I think it's called. It's available in the market. It works just fine for me running r800a stock 2.3.4
SNESDroid is the best, try downloading different formats for your games
I can't post in the CM9/FXP12x thread so hope someone can help me here.
I'm running CM9/FXP127 and everything is running fine with the exception of some games in Snesoid. On stock I could run any game I threw at it. The roms are on my SD card. Those same roms (didn't move them or anything) now stopped working in CM9. I've tried a couple and Super Mario Kart en Super Mario World stopped working, whereas they did work previously. On the other hand Super Metroid and Lost Vikings still work perfectly. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or does anyone know of a fix? I've tried different settings in snesoid (including the C core thing), but nothing seems to fix it.
I really like CM9, but snesoid is the reason I bought this phone, so I might have to settle for GB.
Try xdark ICS. That rom runs everything

I've got an n7100 running a stock rom and kernel. I have nesoid 2.5 installed from here http://sourceforge.net/projects/nesoid/ . For some reason, savestates don't work across restarts of the emulator. I can play a game and save and load the quick save over and over and it works as it should. If I completely close the emulator or reboot the phone, when i start nesoid and try to load the savestate, the emulator gets all garbled and the game can't be played.
Savestates are working as expected on all the other emulators I tried (gensoid, gameboid, fpse, mupen64, ...). Has anybody experienced this issue with nesoid and the n7100? And does anybody happen to have a fix for it?

I have the exact same issue. I'm on a galaxy nexus and I installed from fdroid.
My phone Is a stock C6502 Xperia ZL,running 4.2.2 stock, unrooted bootloader locked.
When I try to run any of these three games (the only ones giving me any problems so far)
Final Fantasy 3
Final Fantasy 4
Ravensword Shadowlands
The games load and I get then black screen, and it stays there. Any ideas why this might be? Anything I can do to get them to work?
These are legit games I purchased from google play (I have then running fine on my Asus tf300t tablet, and they ran great on my previous galaxy nexus before I replaced it with this ZL beast).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall from google play, nothing
Tried rebooting phone, nothing
Even tried replacing the obb files with those from my tablet (it is not rooted either, so cannot extract apk or titanium backup), nothing
Fun games, I would like to be able to play them on this phone, anyone else have issues with these games? All other games I have thrown at it run great and smooth.
Thanks my friends for your time.
UPDATE:
Well, Got them to work by extracting the apk from my tablet and installing that way. Weird that the download from the play store would fail to work, any ideas why? (only on the zl, the tablet downloads and plays these games from the store beautifully)
**This is NOT the typical "how can I get my OUYA **games on CM11"
Rather... anyone find any good Play Store games that can be played with OUYA controllers? If so I'd love to maintain a list here for myself and others. Bonus points if you can recommend Play Store games that use controller AND i can sit with friend(s) and all play on same TV (<-- this I cannot find at all)
Looking forward to some replies!

good question. from what I have gathered the best way to find games on the play store for ouya controller support is to use tegra zone as you can search for games that have controller support. maybe someone will chime in with a list or a better answer but that is what I have found so far.
Reicast (Dreamcast emulator) runs amazingly on Ouya with the controller.
You might wanna check out this app while it's still in the Play Store: Ouya Downloader
I just tested it this morning and it let me download games from the OUYA store w/o a problem. They installed fine, but didn't really get a chance to fully test them out as I'm running low on disk space (which is something else I'm working on); but judging by the filenames of the APKs, they seem to be the OUYA modified versions that will work with the controller. I'll continue testing tonight, but so far it looks quite promising.

I've used this for a few games. My favorite, Bombsquad, will not play. The app auto-shuts down because it doesn't recognize the system as ouya anymore. Have you run into this? And any idea what it may be checking (probably in buildprop) to counteract it?

The second post at this link has a list of games/apps that work with the OUYA controller. Any that work with the stock OUYA launcher should work on cm11 as long as you have the OUYA controller kl file in place. Should be able to install the button mappings for controllers zip from the cm11 thread to get it.

Yeah, doesn't seem like a reliable way of getting games.. I was able to download and install both Shadowgun and RetroArch directly on my Ouya, and RetroArch installed fine and seems to work fine, but Shadowgun installs and loads but stays stuck on the loading screen... I haven't tried installing Shadowgun via the Play Store yet, but seems like installing from that Ouya downloader is hit and miss...
Update: Shadowgun installs and loads fine via the Play Store. It also plays great. Just had to map all the buttons on the OUYA controller before I started to play.
