Unable to install apps (play store error -24) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Whenever I attempt to install one of my paid apps on my new GSM Nexus (Torque Pro) I get the error in the subject line - Unknown -24. I'm able to install it on any of my other devices and I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Is it compatible with the gnex?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Yep, it's up and running on my VZW one right now. I did use app2zip to restore my apps on the new Nexus, but many of my paid apps didn't restore. This seems to be the only one which refuses to install, though... I've tried clearing the cache and everything.

Bump. I'm baffled, over here
FIXED. Never using App2Zip again.
For anyone using google in the future -
Remove /data/data/org.prowl.torque from your phone. App2Zip seems to restore the data folder for certain apps even if you tell it to not restore data...

ciao coldfire, i'm having same problems with app2zip and purchased apps
actually app2zip works great with free apps, so I'll continue using it for free apps, but I can't resintall my paid apps now (for example tapatalk2, the most important!)
I got same error while trying to reinstall it (unknown error 24).. can you help me getting it back please?
(I can't find /data/data/org.prowl.torque in my phone!)
thanks in advance bye!
EDIT: I try another full wipe and tried reinstalling the app before using app2 zip to restore free apps. now I get another error when trying reinstalling tapatalk2: "file of package not valid" (((((((((( any suggestion? ((((((((
RE-EDIT: after multiple full wipes, rom flashings and reboots, at last I could reinstall my purchased apps!

Market my apps server error

When I go into market and select my apps, I get this error:
A server error has occured. Retry,or cancel and return to the previous screen.
I tried clearing data, but still does the same.
Anybody ever have this problem, anybody know a way to fix this?

Did you also clear cache for the Market app? Have you tried using a different internet connection, i.e., switch from 3G to WiFi or vice versa? Have you rebooted and reestablished your connection? Maybe use CWM to reset permissions? Backup the app, then uninstall/reinstall?
Try those (probably that order is "easiest" to "biggest pain in the butt") and see if one of 'em works.
If none of that works, what system changes have you done since the last time you successfully used Market and My Apps? Did you apply any patches, switch kernels, install a whole new ROM?
Yeah I tried all that. I was taking out the new market and putting back the old. After I did that I cleared data, and problem started. I restored my backup and it still gave me that problem. How I fixed it was backing up my apps with titanium backup, formatting all data in clockwork. And re-signing in to my google account, then batch restore all apps only in titanium backup. Only restoring data on certain apps.
Everything is back to normal, I believe it had something to do with getting messed up on googles end. Everything is good now.

[Q] restore apps from market after full wipe

Hi all I got this problem and it happened only once that after a full wipe, my apps has been reinstalled by theirself when i booted up for 1st time.
now it is not happening anymore and when i do full wipe, i have to remember all the apps io downloaded and reinstall them again.
is there a solution? dont tell me to use titanium bck please cos android should do that automatically! thanks
i looked around on found this, same problem different "phone" but none solutions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117511
What ROM were you on and what were you going to? I've found if you've wiped and got to a new build (e.g. 4.0.3 to 4.0.4) then it doesn't automatically do it
thanks for answering!
Im using AOKP, 21 before and now 22 (403), always used this after the stock rom, with AOKP have never been restored :/

ok thank u if this is the only way to fix then i will
I think it has something to do with your Google account. I have the same problem and it was ages ago the phone auto installed my market app. I do change rom quite often and i do not like TB to restore apps.
In your goggle account, I don't remember exactly where you can se a list of your devices and their apps. Same device can show as different ones in your account probably due to different build.prop or something like that.
So my theory is that you can only have a limited amount of devices with auto restored apps. Or Google doesn't recognice your device as the same one after you have flashed it with some custom rom.

I keep getting that damn error whenever I try to download an app from the play store, even when it's free. I fixed it once before by clearing the cache, data, and uninstalling updates of the market but I don't wanna have to do this Everytime I download an app. Anyone have a fix?

Log into your google account and check your wallet. There may be an issue with your payment method. If everything is fine, try deleting the app and then reinstalling the market. You can google "android market apk" to find it, or Google "google play apk". Download and install.
If that still doesn't solve, it could also just be the Google servers having an issue.

might be a ROM issue
I have the same "error processing issue" problem. I often have to clear my market cache/data, which works sometimes. So I called google market play to see if there were any issues in my account, and the rep said there was none. His theory was that there might be some issues with the custom ROM (ARHD) I installed, since I only started having problems after I installed it. Anyway, I think the only solution for now is the clear cache data approach, or better yet, hope that our ROM builders are able to address the issue.
As an aside, my ARHD is working perfectly, except for this market issue (cum hoc, ergo propter hoc?)
I also have a custom rom installed and had this same issue, I resolved it by uninstalling updates for the google play store app, and then it worked...at least for now.
I recently started messing with various roms and themes when this issue popped up for me. I searched the web and tried the various methods (removing gmail account, not updating, etc) with little luck. After hours of frustration, I finally found out what was causing the issue.
I was using Titanium Backup to back up all my files and restore them as I was flashing between the various roms, that was the trouble maker.
When you back up your files before a flash, make sure you do not back up the google/play store. So, if you are having problems, try to go trough these steps and it should fix it.
Back up all your files (minus play store) in Titanium Backup.
Reboot phone into clockwork.
Reset Factory Data x3
Wipe Cache x3
Install your rom from zip
Once your phone is booted up again, do not enable Wifi (for now)
Do not add a Google Account
Go to the market and download Titanium (will prompt to add Google account, do so)
Exit the Market
Go back to the market (it should now have auto updated to play store)
Try to download another app, any app, it should work
You can now use Titanium to restore all your apps and data, but make sure that you do not restore anything with the market/play store in it.
I did this yesterday, restored all my games, contacts, text messages, etc and it has worked fine for me ever since.
I am running slickMOD Supreme with the Darkside Kernel.
Hope this helped at least a few of you as I know how big of a headache this was for me.
All is good now. However, it does still happen with a couple apps, free or paid. I can't remember which ones but it gives the processing purchase error. Very rare albeit still present.

Aloha;
Sounds like an ID mismatch here. Happens whenever you do a factory reset or change ROMs. I'm guessing that the ID is a hash of the phone and the ROM, maybe. Anyway, the device ID is what ties the phone to your Google account and apps use this to determine whether you paid for the installed app or run as a freeware version.
Titanium now offers the choice of reverting the id back to the old one or ignore the change. I prefer NOT to change the ID back as I've ran into more id mismatch problems down the road than just keeping the new ID. I too use Titanium to backup my apps and data, and use it to quickly restore my apps and data to a new installation on my phone (whether it be a factory reset or a new ROM, or even a reinstallation of the current ROM). Whenever I have a misbehaving app that reverts back to the freeware version or complains about licensing problems, I then uninstall the app and then reinstall the app directly from the Play Market. That has always fixed the problem for ME. Your Mileage May Vary, which mean while it works for me, it MAY not work for you. Keep that in mind before you start biatchin that it doesn't work.
Oh, yeah, also try rebooting after the reinstallation. If nothing else, Dalvik and Cache!
Mahalo,

I've run into this a few times after doing a restore from a backup or swapping ROMs. Best way I can fix it is go to Google Services Framework, stop it, clear the data. Next go to Google Play, stop it. Uninstall any updates, then clear the data. Reboot phone. Go to Google Play again, accept terms, and now it should work. Just some advice.

Load Rom THEN phone settings?? HELP!?

Gentlemen,
I've rooted my GS3 - works flawlessly. Id like to start experimenting with various ROMS. My questions is
once I've done an android backup with CWM, and the new ROM is loaded, how do I reinstall all of my apps,
and settings (mail, etc)?? I have Titanium backup installed and have backed up each of the important apps one
by one.......
Easier way? That could take hours to recreate.
THanks

Generally restoring phone settings between different ROMs isn't a great idea and can lead to various problems.
You can have you apps reinstalled automatically when you login to Google on first boot.
It reinstals apps on installing google mail??????? HOW?
Now I'm really peaked about loading a new rom..........

Usually when you boot Android for the first time, you're asked to put in your Google credentials - these are used for Gmail, but also to log you in to the Play Store. Then there is usually an option to restore the phone, and it will proceed to download all of your apps.
If you buy the pro key for titanium backup it automates the backup and restore process. And it is fine to restore apps and data (not system data) from one ROM to another. I even restored apps and data from my Atrix to my S3.

How Do You Restore Apps After Fresh Wipe? (AppBrain Isn't Working)

Hey guys,
So I just freshly wiped to update to Sourcery's latest beta 2.3.6. I'm liking it a lot so far, but AppBrain isn't working for me. The app works, but Fast Web Installer says it cannot connect to the network. check your internet connection. Even though I am connected via wifi. I tried both wifi and 3g, same message. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling (FWI & AB). Tried restoring app data from tibu. Tried restoring app + data (nothing to lose). No luck.
I'm wondering if Google ever fixed the app restore feature in the market. I remember it used to install every damn app that I have ever installed and there was no way to stop it! I don't want all the apps I have installed in the past, just the most recent ones I had installed.
Can someone shed some light on either helping me fix AB + FWI, market restore, or another way?

I believe if during the original setup you wait until the network is completely connected and you've selected "restore from my Google account" it should restore on it's on right after setup. Just my experience.

I always do for user apps or google apps that are from the same version of googleapps zip. Usually I flash, boot, nandroid, then restore apps and data. I've never had major system instability problems, but occassionally an app freezes quite a bit (e.g. beyond pod). If that happens I just go into the settings and clear out the data for the app.

Ah, okay. I used to do this. I screwed up when I upgraded from ICS to JB and restored. Apparently, a big no no. I think I restored system data as well. Is there an option to just restore App & Data only? Excluding system*
