I searched and couldn't find anything about this, is there anyway to add new bubbles to the stock messaging application or change the color of the bubbles, and the ability to change the background? I know I could just use a third party application but I am not a fan of those at all. I like to keep it stock.
Yeah, they're .9 png files in drawable-xhdpi folder of mms.Apk.
When you edit them, just make sure to redraw the .9 pmg images and compile them.

Edit: looking at the 2 the are different.the stock one from Sprint has a send and attach button. The att version only had a attachment button. Kinda weird.

I also added a black background (style 3), also to change the bubbles, on the conversation list, hit menu > settings > Edit Bubble Style > Style 3.
Ignore styles 4 and 5 of background, they loop the picture for some reason. lol
EDIT: Download attached and flash away. If flashing gives you error, push mms to /system/app and change permissions to rw-r-r.

I noticed that and went ahead and modded the Blazer mms, so it has the send button and attach button.

Sorry about that. I'll upload another one. Those bubbles were changed a long time ago and I must have uploaded the wrong apk.

Hey, thanks for your help. I installed the zip and it said that it was completed, and at the end it said enjoy. However, when I rebooted my phone, I still don't have the bubbles. Any suggestions? I have the Galaxy S3 and running CM10.

works awesome on ec05. i just tried to load this flasher up with my old red/black swype beta theme imported...we'll see if it works in about a minute. I basically had no clue what I was doing..but i think it just might work. I'll attach it if it does.
EDIT: It WORKS!!! Wow I'm shocked lol. Just don't know how to make the swype line red (its still blue and looks a little weird). But the keyboard looks the same as the one linked in my signature...just with a blue tracer line.

Get gimp and the stock NS4G swype apk, assets/keyboards, open a png in gimp, and go to colors in the menu area then select colorify.... now select the color, ok, save, and voila

i just opened it up with 7zip and replaced all the assets/keyboard png files with the themed pngs from the themed old swype beta. pretty simple...just had add "default0_" or whatever it was to the beginnings of all the file names. really easy way to port stuff tho.

Yeah I did that at first but it looked weird, like the mic image was shifted to the left sitting on the separator line and the gestures didn't work

(but it will only work the same way it does in ICS (dont expect this to become a 4.1 app just because you installed on JB)
These have quick emoji button feature optional in settings. No mms compression.
Use it if you like it. If you don't like it then your just not cool.
**If you prefer to have white incoming text, just download the file with WHT and the color you like in the name.
Installation
Using Root Explorer (or similar) navigate to system/app
Rename your Mms.apk file to Mms.apk.bak.
Copy new Mms.apk to system/app and set permissions
Enjoy this sweet themed app.
Removal
Since we didn't flash this in CWM and everyone followed the instructions above, you simply delete Mms.apk from system/app and rename Mms.apk.bak to Mms.apk. You are now using your sucky mms app again.

Okay tried it out. Looks fantastic and works well. Two points though can you change the contact names to white? Rather than keeping it all blue. As well, when you have a category with unread messages, the grey seems a bit much. Is there any way of changing that colour? But other than that, looks fantastic and will for sure be using it!

colors are awesome, i love it, but i can't help but think it would be a lot easier to follow the discussion in a thread if the incoming text were white (so that it would stand out against the blue outgoing text)...

I noticed in the file some things... When you choose and icon from the home screen... Does it change colors? Like, if it's being activated?

Yeah it is. It's a third party launcher with 3-4 third party apps I believe. lol
I posted a version on your thread mack. Its just a background with some icons and nova launcher. I used the mega boss theme to use the reestore setting files as a cheat to setup a few folder and things for me. the original bg is the one you see recolored to this blue.
Im not sure what they used for the power button in middle or the swirl behind it.

Flashed this and looks great. The only thing I cannot get to work right is when I get a text, on my lock screen it just says "New Message". When before on the stock messaging app it would show the sender and a preview of the message. I tried messing around with the settings but I just can't get it figured out. Any ideas?

Try this...open messaging app...settings. ..notifications. ..there you should see option under lock screen. If you click on it all messages will show once your screen is lock. [emoji4]

Just as an FYI about the changes made in my theme
Color changes in general effect the images in my theme. If the image you see doesn't match my image then it needs to be fixed.
To fix the images, go into Hyperdrive Tweaks and change the color of items to transparent (ie, #00000000)
The Lockscreen will by default now rotate. I can make a separate zip for those who dont want it
Standard rules apply for flashing main theme

And just an FYI for anyone who hasn't tried it yet. The launcher I included with this can have the swipe up and left set within the launcher itself without any additional apps. Work on that was done by @dwitherell

Yea....
I thought it should have been there. Check in the hyper tweaks. You can toggle it off and on. Click it twice an see if it pops up
Edit: I removed it. I forgot on version 6 he took off the ability to remove it so I did it myself.
I'll add it back now since he added back that feature

After I installed this theme the wallpaper chooser and the homescreen setting keeps force closing every time I press it.. anyone else getting this problem??

Can you add a different color like Gray and blue to the text message bubbles? Just to quickly differentiate sending and receiving... Theme looks great.

No biggie but with this theme on the rom we can't have the s5 settings view? I can't seem to find that extra settings application and neither does it give me options anymore when I hit settings button.

Mine is there, make sure you didn't hide it. Could always try an clear defaults too.
I just opened mine. Looks like I missed half the icons tho.
