When I tried to use swype after restoring from titanium backup the swype keyboard is in the language and keyboard section but the option to turn it on is not there. Not sure how to fix this problem I tried to download the beta but it won't install because swype is already pre installed. I don't know what to do to get it working.

If swype was restored as a system app. I don't think system keyboards have the toggle to enable or disable, it should already be enabled. Have you already tried long pressing the select input type.

Haha i guess that is my only option. It does it more when I'm text messaging. I did try taking word suggestion off (unchecked it) but it didn't work. I think that is what is causing the up and down on the screen
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Also to fix it go to the settings app then language and input then click swype settings then go to prefences then word suggestion and uncheck word suggestion and show suggested word but keep auto-correction checked if you want to keep auto correction on
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Thanks for the info. I tried that and it didn't work. i have all the settings unchecked and the suggested word still continues to come out.

lulz? I too would like to find a fix to this problem. Using the Swype keyboard... for Swype...

Actually I just found this version of Swype
https://www.dropbox.com/s/88ar62071w8ghr0/SWYPE-ICS.apk
which is version 3.26.92.39062.
This version seems to solve the problem by keeping the suggestion bar continuously active. Kinda lame, but better than constantly resizing. Also, the accent color is blue instead of that cool orange...
Yes I'm using the Samsung keypad

You have to root, (backup and) remove current version with something like Titanium backup, reboot, then install.

n00b lol. it's there to allow you to change what keyboard you're using. if you know you specifically want to use one and never change it then disable the rest of them in language and input under settings and it'll disappear.

It's part of ICS. Was a little odd to see at first, but a handy way of switching keyboards. I suggest you get used to it cause future versions might still have this as part of the OS.

Just search the threads for how to root your phone. Its easy takes about 10-15 minutes not even. Then after you have root, download the app from the play store and uninstall anything you want, just be careful not to uninstall the wrong thing.

The option for none and Swype are greyed out. Currently, I have the fingerprint option active. How do I disable it to activate just Swype?
Anyone?
I know there was another thread or post about this recently but I can't seem to find it. And there was a definite solution. Try to search for it. I'll do the same.
