Calendar not showing google accounts - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm running the Vicious CM10 4.1.1 V5 rom which I flashed 3 days ago and I'm not able to get my calendar to sync with my google ones. I would post in that specific thread asking for help but I don't have enough posts. I started with a full wipe before flashing the rom and everything works but the calendar. I was running the AOSP Vicious with zero bugs but I like the CM10 one better minus the calendar issue. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get the calendar working? I've tried removing my accounts and re-adding them which didn't help. I'm wondering if I can flash the latest Gapps to maybe get it working but I don't really know where to start with that process. I'd like to try other options to maybe get this ROM working before doing a factory reset and starting fresh since I don't wanna redo everything.

Do you get any error messages? Did you make sure the calendar app is set to show you the calendars?

When I go to add an event, I get a message that says to add an account but when I go to see if I have any calendars, it doesn't show the option to show any.

Do you have the calendar set to sync in your accounts?

I don't have the option for my accounts to sync to calendars. It was working before on the AOSP Vicious rom but now it doesn't.

That's really odd. When you added the account did you make sure to add it as a Google account or an "other" account?

I added all my google accounts as google ones. They show up as google accounts with a G next to them in the settings menu.

Just to update this for anyone who has this issue in the future, I just flashed the latest Gapps and it fixed my problem. No need to even readd my accounts. After a booting back up, the option for calendar showed up in the settings menu and I just checked them for the accounts I wanted to sync.

[ROM 2.2] No push mail with multiple Gmail accounts

Hey everyone,
I've installed the r6 Sense Modaco ROM and my 2d and 3d GMail accounts don't automatically sync...
Is it an issue due to the original ROM leaked from HTC or not ?
Is there a way to get back the auto-sync ??
Thanks !
-- ant1
its a bug, it works for some, not for others. I've had it working and not working on different roms, so its not device specific. Quick solution is to get k9 mail off the market and use that for your push accounts.
Hum ok. But is there a way to know which rom has this issue?
Is it specific to a rom, a device or something else?

I have this problem too, but it seem work just fine 2 or 3 days after flashing.
I found this problem in every sense ROM installed, I was wondering it caused the new version of gmail.. IMHO..
The second gmail account is given the choice to push emails after a few hours, just keep checking back under accounts & sync.

OK. I've installed k9mail for now as I don't like the HTC Mail App.
But I didn't understand, is the system goin to ask me if I wanna activate push on my Gmail accounts ? Is that simple ? Just wait ?
I don't really understand what causes that bug if it's going to reactivate itself...
If anyone understand if this bug in specific to HTC ? To FroYo ? Is it a config file miswritten ?
No one ? Because I have a personnal and a professional Gmail account...

Mine also startd working 3 days after i flashed the rom
You can force this by opening GMail-app, selecting your account, pressing menu and choosing the sync-button. After a few seconds your inbox will show up.
If you THEN go to the main menu under accounts & sync you can check mail-sync immediately.
But this does not solve the problem that your additional GMail account(s) won't get synced. It works for some time after a fresh install, but then suddenly it will stop working. Don't know why... This only seems to happen on Sense Froyo-ROMs.
EDIT: I just realized: If you go under accounts & sync in the main menu and select "sync all" button, then you start to receive notifications for your additional accounts again. At least it worked for me, let's see for how long
I have the same problem after installing the OFFICIAL FroYo update on the HTC Desire. The sync sync settings are there, but it just ignores the setting for all but the first account.
Same here, issue with official FroYo release. Second account won't push. It did at first but now nothing is coming in unless i sync manually.
The account that doesnt pusg is corporate gmail not sure if that's related though.
Really hoping somebody knows a fix because i prefer to roll back to 2.1 rather than not having push mail available
Oddly my other Gmail accounts are now syncing normally. Push mail is active too.
I didn't do anything for that... Strange !
I have the same problem, i install it yesterday, i havec 4 account, and just one push...
Thought that worked, and it did for a single message, but doesn't stick.
I'm also having the same problem since my Desire updated to Froyo last Sunday.
Out of 5 accounts only the first one does push email now. Doesn't seem to be related to the type of account since the 4 that don't push are a mix of normal gmail and corporate Google app accounts.
Would it help to compare our version numbers? My build says 2.09.405.8
Hope they solve it soon...
On the Google help site there is now the following posts:
Hi folks,
Thanks for your reports. We're right now looking into a general issue affecting the ability of additional accounts to auto-sync on some HTC devices with the latest version of the Android firmware.
To summarize what you've been reporting, this means if you have a device such as the HTC EVO 4G or HTC Desire, and you've recently updated your firmware to version 2.2, then auto-sync may only work for one account on your device -- the 'primary' account -- and not for any subsequent accounts you may have added to your phone.
In the meantime, you can still use Gmail on these devices with your additional account(s), but you'll have to manually check for new mail (Press <Menu>, then select Refresh).
We're in touch with HTC on this issue, and I'll be sure to update this post when I have news to share.
Regards,
Ethan

and
I have a temporary workaround for those who might be experiencing this issue on the devices I mentioned in my earlier post.
To get sync working again for the additional account(s), try following these steps:
1. Press < Menu > on your device.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Accounts & sync.
4. Select the affected account.
5. Tap the 'Sync Now' button at the bottom of the screen.
Repeat these steps for other affected accounts.
We continue to look into this issue and I'll be posting here with any updates.

So I guess that we now sit and wait however my 2nd Gmail account does sync on it's own every now and then so I have to question if the problem may be at least partly on the Gmail platform.
Hmm
Is there any news in this case? Can't get my Desire to sync my 2. and 3. gmail account...
Will it work with a custom rom?
In the custom roms, some of them writes they have a new version Gmail 2.2.1 i think... Will this custom rom have fixed the push problem for the second and third gmail account?
Nope. I have Fresh rom on my EVO, it has the newest gmail. no change.

No calendar events error. Unable to create an appointment *FIX*

User Case Story:
When attempting to create an event/reminder/appointment in the calendar app, the user receives a message stating, "No calendar events."
The user doesn't receive an error and the app doesn't force close. Overall, the ROM is stable.
Solution:
Go to Settings.
Go to Accounts and Sync.
Click your Gmail account (don't click the sync icon).
Click Sync Calendar.
Close Settings.
Launch the Calendar app.
Create a new appointment.
Success.
Comments:
I've ran into this issue a lot in the past across several ROMs. I've done a search on here and Google with no luck. After coming with this resolution, I realized that I caused this headache myself. I don't like to download my Gmail on my phone and prefer using the browser to check messages. I only linked my Google account to my phone in order to install apps from the market. I have auto-sync disabled because I want to extend my battery life (data transfer running in the background) and there wasn't a need for me to sync with other Google related services. Looking back, the times that I didn't run into this was when I rushed and didn't disable auto-sync during the initial account setup wizard (after flashing a ROM). I decided to post this in order to contribute to the community, but you (moderators) can lock or delete this post if it's a duplicate. My apologies, but I hope other people find this useful. Thank you.

Plz Help w/Contacts

I recently wiped my old decks rom bc i was tired of the bugs & crappy battery life. I installed a new rom and went to use gmail which syncs my contacts. But the latest contacts I had synced on my account are not in there...Is there anyway to get them back? I thought once you synced them up they were always tied to your account once you logged in?
bump anyone? Would like to fix this
You must of turned sync off before, or recent would be there too

Well I remember when I input the phone # it asked do u want to sync the number with google or Not Sync and just have it in the phone. I always choose SYNC with GOOGLe. But once I wiped my rom & installed a new one all the new contacts are gone =( & I didnt backup bc I didnt plan to use that ROM again...
The ones you synced with Google should come back if you:
Go to settings
Accounts and sync
Select your gmail
Click "sync contacts " then they should be there

Default calendar not syncing with my Gmail?

The default calendar on my galaxy note 2 was not syncing correctly with my Gmail. I would go into settings, Google, and my Gmail and the calendar box was checked off. The little wheel was spinning and it would never stop spinning. I tried rebooting and I tried deleting the e-mail and adding it back on but no luck.
I went into the play store and downloaded Google calendar. This seems to have solved the problem since Google calendar syncs without a hitch but I was wondering if there is any way to get the default calendar to sync as well?

bump
I was wondering this as well. But in the end i just keep using the Google one.

I keep getting a sync error as well. It has not synced since yesterday afternoon. I'm assuming it's an issue on Google's side as it did sync my calendar's at one point when I was setting up my phone.
I tried to use the Google Calendar App but so far I'm not liking it as well as the native Samsung calendar app. I like how the Samsung Calendar App has a small written description of the items that are on your calendar when you are viewing it by month.
I'm sure it will get sorted out on Google's end shortly. I hope.
---------- Post added at 11:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:02 AM ----------
I think I figured the syncing issue out.
First I went to Accounts - Google and stopped syncing my Calendar with Google. I then went to Application Manager - All Applications. Under there I Cleared Data for Calendar, Calendar storage and Calendar widget. Now, I'm only interested in syncing data from my Google Calendar so I had nothing to loose by clearing the data; but if you had other calendar data that was not syncing with Google then I assume you will loose that data by pressing the Clear Data button. After that I went back to Accounts - Google and reenabled syncing and all is well.
Hope this helped you.
Also the Samsung has a my calendar which doesn't correspond to anything in your Google calendar so won't synch. Finally the Samsung calendar doesn't offer any filtering so everything went to sync is also displayed unlike the Google Calendar.
TLDR; Samsung calendar is a piece of junk just root delete it and replace with googles
Hope this may help some people with this problem, When you add new event where it says Calendar make sure you choose your GMAIL Calendar not My Calendar.

To add to this:
1) Go into the Calendar app and then hit "Calendars" on top. Uncheck the "my calendar" box then save by hitting "done."
2) Go back into Calendar and hit the "+" to add event. Switch it to the Gmail account instead of "my calendar" and add a test event.
3) Go to the test event and delete it (or leave it if you don't mind).
4) Go back to the calendar app and add an event. It should now default to google instead of the samsung one from here on out.
Note: You can switch the prior events created by the default samsung app by going into them and switching the calendar to the gmail account. I would do this prior to doing the above steps to avoid repeating them.
Hope this helps anyone who finds it!
wow, i have upgraded my HTC Sensation XE to the custom rom Vipers 3.0.1. my calendar is not working, not sync to google calendar. any one having same issue here?
i have tried to clear the cache, remove the account and add in account, does not see any improvement yet so far.

[Q] Calendar Issue - Please Help

Hi.
Today I ripped out the Samsung calendar that comes stock with Titanium and installed Google's calendar instead. When I attempted to use the new calendar, I wasn't able to sync at all - when I go to settings to choose calendars to sync, it says "loading" indefinitely. Is there a way around this issue, or am I forced to keep the Samsung apk installed? If so, could someone please post or link to the apk so I don't have to dig it out of a backup. Thanks a lot!

I know this won't help you, however, I have a problem with my T-Mobile Note 2. When I add an event to my Gmail calendar, it will show in my phone but not in my GCalendar. I have tried everything and I get 'Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.' This only applies to my Sync Calendar. Sync Contacts and Gmail does sync properly. Hope someone finds a fix for you.
Please disregard opening post; I have settled the issue myself.

When you say you're adding an event to your Gmail calendar, are you adding the event through the app with the green trim or the app with the blue trim?
If you are using the calendar app made by Google (blue trim), much of the time to settle this issue, all you have to do is go into the app manager and find the calendar storage and wipe cache. I have never had a time where sync wasn't "experiencing problems." It is normal, and Google refuses to fix it. Also, when adding an event, make sure it has your Gmail address as the calender name or a calendar you've made in the cloud selected, because if it says "local" or something like that, it's only being saved to the phone and the phone calendar won't sync, similar to how contacts won't sync on their own to Google unless they are saved as Google contacts.
If instead you are using the Samsung app (green trim), you have to manually sync your calendar to the cloud. It's an annoying process that immediately turned me off to using it in the first place.
Thank you! Fixed

I just downloaded Google Calendar from Google Play and checked my TEST Events and now they are there in all my Calendars. Just re-synced and it worked. I have no idea other than when I installed Google Calendar that corrected the problem. Thanks for your time and reply. I do appreciate your advise. I walked through all your suggestions.
