[WIP][NEED HELP]-Miui RoM

OK I was able to get a miui rom to work but it need a lot of fixes. this rom is from the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II so it is basically the same. Yes It is flashable
FIX NEED:
-(Fix) All the capacitive buttons work(need to change button setting)
***Need to replace the usr file in the system folder***
-LED's Light Dont come on
***Need BLN Control-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823922
-No Sevice ( still set up as at&t(sim card) need to be cdma
-wifi need to be fix
-ext-sd mounting
-front camera
-Wifi tether
-Some headsets have volume issues
-Usb Disconnect After 20 sec and force reboot
-few other bugs..

Awsome, it all starts here!

I can fix wifi and other things but i dont have power right now soi cant work untill i do... also what kernel are you using for this? It has to have init.d support for themes to work and also the euro galaxy s2 version has the camera working last time i checked.

I'd be curious to know what kernel as well. You try eri n apns for service? Wifi might be the same fix we've used for 2.3.5+ issues in the past as well since our kernel is technically built for 2.3.4.

Im pretty sure data wont work ever without an aosp kernel... codeworkx has one for us on his gihub but every time i try to compile i get errors... it hasnt been tested tho because they dont have the phone yet from what i know.

maybe someone can contact lithid-cm. last time i checked he was working on the aosp kernel, but it's been a while since we heard anything....

Oh man, I loved MIUI when I had it on my NS4G. I hope to see real progress on it soon!

hey barnacles,
if you grab the 'official' rom from miui.com or even the int'l sgs2 miui port from xda, all you need to do is swap the zimage with one of the epic 4g touch's (like LoStKernel) and it will boot up and function (maybe what the OP of this thread did, didn't download to see). Data and wifi were no go. If I remember, the cameras were working though unlike what this OP says. I've been working on this here and there but I definitely dont have as much free time as I'd like as I'm getting ready to move to the other side of the earth.
I'll be more than happy to answer questions and/or help development going as soon as I can put some time aside to work on this.

I'm not a fan of the MIUI ROM(its to iPhone-ish IMHO) but I still wanted to say thank you for this post. Although I know it wasn't its purpose, it did point me to the SkyRocket's Development, and Themes & Apps Section, and man do they have some goodies over there, which I never would've found had it not been for this post, so thanks again!

so you essentially made small tweaks and got aosp based rom from sgs2 int to boot? if so, nice. I wonder if this works with CM7 as well.

Omggggg we need to get this rolling. I thought someone was already working on a port for MIUI? What is this for? Excited nonetheless lol.

yes i recently download a rom ,(CM9 alpha1: Android 4.0.3 for Samsung Epic 4G) and i follow the instructions correctly and i love the rom and i want to keep it but i cant play my favorite game tap tap revenge ,there and error that it gives or a bug

Then don't use it. It is an Alpha which means a lot of things won't work. Put your phone on stock or a stable custom TW ROM. Or CM7 is in release candidate so try that.

Its listed in the cm9 staus / bugs that games that use double touch input or whatever you'd like to call it cause an error where it believes all fingers have been lifted if just one is...

An Alpha ROM by definition is unapologetically cantankerousness at random for any reason and at any time. The "fix" is to wait for an RC of the CM9 ROM and then revisit this issue at that time. At this point the devs just want to get the core system stable and efficient....or so says me.
A quick trip to the market will find that "tap tap," besides having the 2nd most juvenile name in the history of software, also seems to be suffering wide spread force close problems with any and all versions of Android.
If you really feel the need to yank all of your hair out try contacting the game publisher to see if "tap tap" is ICS compatible in the first place.

Is this really a post? We don't care if something isn't working right for you.

Yes, the app is known to be bugged across several platforms. But it is safe to say that many apps will have difficulty on CM9 being an Alpha. Lots of things are still in development on it. Like Telenav 7 instantly Force closes, but Telenav 6 runs, but may force close occasionally.

~ Auto Brightness is set to be off by default

Been waiting for you to release a rom. I know you are good at building roms but I dont see a bug list here. So there is no bugs? How is your call quality. Downloading now. May take long though cause of the lack of my wifi.

hey eugene, if you can enable wifi before setting up Google for the first time, the process of syncing can take less than 1 minute for me..so if you can let us access the toggle bar and hold wifi and enable it from there then continue on with the set up, that would be great!

missing the point in AOSP....
Just use wifi after the Phone boots up... I don't want to tarnish what a pure AOSP rom is.

good we got eugene making roms for us! flashing now, glad to have something other than touchwiz!

So tempted to flash this ROM, but jelly bean is so buttery smooth. Plus ICS ROMs eventually give me the YouTube HD lag. Jellybean never does. Can you OC with Eugene's kernel?

CM10 Developer help

Hello,
I have a big request to ask the developer for the Nightly Official CM10 builds.
I have been running them ever since i got my S3 with only a few known issues. I love love love these builds and greatly appreciate everything that they are doing for us.
I have one small favor to ask them to include in the next nightly or near future build.
Ever since build 9/18, i have been getting a hot reboot. I have narrowed it down to the app, smart status bar. This app has worked perfectly on every other ROM or nightly of CM10. So i KNOW its not the app.
I have a logcat here
and i personally feel its this change that is causing this.. i may be wrong but i dont know since nobody is giving me support or even caring.
On that note, i have mentioned this in the CyanogenMod 10 nightly thread. And all i got was a bunch of people *****ing me out claiming that im the only one who uses this app and experiences this issue. And that the problem lies in the app. But when nightlys are released arent they suppose to fix issues and not cause new ones? and if it were the app causing the problem then the app would have caused a hot reboot on my stock rom, on my galaxy s 2 cm10 nightly, on my HD2 cm9 nightly. And on EVERY other ROM out there. Well it doesnt nor has it caused issues up until the 19th build.
I apologize for any attitude or disgust in my dictation but i was very offended by the rudeness and ignorance of the remarks i was receiving. So i apologize for any hostility in my dictation.
Thank you for your time in reading my thread. I hope something gets done to resolve this issue.

Lol i did -.- read my post.

I would say send the logcat to the app developer and they should fix compatibility. Link them to the github change as well. Supporting all possible users should be a priority.
Cyanogenmod adds changes that make the most benefit for over all performance. If this broke their code it would be resolved but this breaks the apps code so the dev needs to correct it.
I have sent info like this to devs before and been obliged and had the issue fixed.

I've tried that never got a reply from the developer. I just don't see how it works on every other ROM but the 9/18 and up ROMs. So it can't be a app problem

If it isn't working with an AOSP based rom, it is an app problem. Apps are supposed to be built with AOSP in mind..

The next logical step would be to see if it works on stock 4.1 on a Galaxy Nexus. That was you can see if it was something added that is different than stock Jellybean.

Yeah that might be your best bet. I was thinking since CM10 is attempting to put stock 4.1 on our phones, you can isolate it to see if it is in fact something extra that CM added or if it is something that would be an issue on stock 4.1 as well.

So i posted this thread over in the nexus forums and someone confirmed it working perfectly on AOKP JB. Dont think its stock but its progress

It came to my attention that a lot of people were in need of the handoff.zip that fixes the data on cm ROMs. I was unaware it was no longer available on the original thread so here ya go. I'll leave it up for about a week.

What does this do? I'm on cm 10.1 nightlies. Is it something that helps with the transition from 3g to 4g and vice versa?

Switching to cdma only should fix it (especially if you're not even in an LTE area)

Really bud? I mostly hate when the dev tell us to "go use search" but really? If you can't go to the Cyan thread and read a little then you shouldn't be flashing ROMs, because youre a brick waiting to happen.
Anyways...go check out Slim's 4.2 in the original section. Its very smooth and will be getting updated shorty. And please read thro the thread a bit...

Thanks OP, but I would like to state that this fix has already been merged into the CM10 gerrit.
The flashable zip posted from the OP has the same APN xml as this.

As of Dec 6th, it's been in the CM10 ROM. This means any cm10 based rom will automatically have this built in.
There is another bug floating around where data times out randomly and the only thing we, the users, can do is provide radio logs to the CM10 devs.
The steps to help is described in this post.
