I have no answer to your question, but can you post the link to the "AudioFocus" app?

regarding audio focus
I don't think it's and app .
audio focus is the action that the OS does to manage multiple sounds - like receiving sms while listening to music so the os gives the focus to the sms notification and the music level goes down for like 2 seconds then back again.
about the problem itself , i encounter several problems involving the original car dock and audio but this is solved by just muting the navigation app  , but that's just me.

Notifications Through Headphones

Anyone else notice notifications (text/email) do not play over headphones? Is it me or WTF?
Note - I am rooted and using Domination HD rom, but honestly I do not remember them playing through headphones with factory rom.

[email protected], you're becoming the watchman for this forum, looking out for repeat postings lol. I wish Chris can just delete them or move them to the appropriate thread. I've been seeing so many new thread pop up lately asking the same questions we've been discussing a couple of months ago. As usual, nobody tries to search for it first.
Anywho, I just wanna mention one thing too regarding notifications. My situation is the opposite to what some people are experiencing. When people say they don't hear the notifications through the headsets, I can hear mine on the headsets AND on the phone as well. Yes, what I'm trying to say is that the notification rings on both the headset as well as on the built in speaker WITH the headsets PLUGGED IN. I didnt realize this until one day I was in the bus and had only one headset on and turned of the music when a text came in and i heard it on the free ear. I was like omg, have the other passengers been hearing this loud notifications all these times (I text a lot and thought they never heard anything) and I felt really bad.
Then I found out that the only way for notifications to not be heard on the built in speaker is to enable silent mode, in which the phone only vibrates. The funny part to that is that all notifications including ringtones still work normally on the headset, so I can hear notifications still without bothering people. I just have to remember to take it of silent mode once I disconnect the headset.

Thanks for the heads up! Weird that there are so many different symptoms of essentially the same issue - routing of notification audio.

[Q] No audio recorded in video record apps (calls, audio record is ok) 4.2.1

Hi all,
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the standard 'camera' app started to record videos with no sound..
There's just quiet white background noise in videos (as if mic is very low level)..
I've tried the stock ''camera app', and also 'camera mx' app - same thing.
Quite strange as mic itself is ok - people can hear me on calls, and audio recording apps ('Hi Q MP3 Rec') work ok too.
Any ideas?
I'm on a stock rom, the phone isn't even rooted.
Thanks!

Audio notifications while on phone call?

I mostly leave my phone on the desk and use a bluetooth headset. Because of this I dont feel the vibration that happens when I get a notification while on a phone call. Is there a way to change this setting? I had a setting in the phone app on older phone but dont see an option here.
Id also be open to a 3rd party app that would fix this and possibly repeat the audio multiple times. I will root if necessary.
Thanks!
I could benefit from strategies for this, too. I miss a lot of notifications while on Bluetooth, with or without media audio also enabled
This doesn't have great reviews but it's what I use and I even have the app read the text to me. The app will talk through your Bluetooth at the same time your on a call but I just say to whoever I'm talking to oh hold on a second until it's done. Hope this helps Pete

Mic very low on third party apps?

Hey community,
I have my device since yesterday and I experiencing following issue: Voicemails on third party apps like whatsapp oder telegram are veeeeery quiet.
Compared to incoming voicemails from friends my outgoing voicemails from pixel are much much quieter.
Anyone experienced the same? Any fixes?
Yes, I've had this same problem on snapchat. When I send a voicenote is super low and but when listen to one sent to me it's at decent volume. I noticed ironically when I talk with my mouth pointing at the top size of the phone, the mic picks up better than when talking to the buttom size of the phone
I use the app called Sleep to track my sleep habits. It records snoring. I can now barely hear me snoring but the app shows it's just like it was before on my Nexus 6P. I submitted a bug report to Sleep but they said they don't think it's a problem with their app.
Same issue.
I have to get right up to the mic on telegram to have it picked up my voice.... BEYOND ANNOYING
same here, still no fix.
known issue.

Distorted Whatsapp audio when inside a moving vehicle

I'm facing a strange problem when recording audio messages on whatspp or instagram etc.
It happens only when I'm inside a moving vehicle . Really can't understand it. It isn't wind, as I tried recording with closed windows already.
Sample recording attached. In this audio I haven't said anything, it is the pure distortion sound. When I say something it gets worse, sometimes can't even understand what I'm saying.
Are you all having this issue or what?
Can anyone confirm this is a common problem or am I the only one facing it? Already swiched rom + kernel and the issue persists.
