Sprint LTE alive in San Francisco, CA - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

http://phandroid.com/2012/08/06/spr...-francisco-bay-area-ahead-of-official-launch/

I forgot to post here that I've seen some 4g in Santa Clara as well....

Speed test I pulled off of Lawrence Expwy in Santa Clara

.....based on that speed test, Sprint's LTE will be just as useless as their CDMA and WIMAX. That's abysmal for LTE, let alone launch day before anyone is even using it yet...

Must have been testing. Not real performance test. Check my signature for a better idea of speeds. I consistently hit mid 20's.

Backbone probably hasn't been upgraded yet.

Probably testing

I used to pull 12mbps on wimax. Don't understand y everybody hated it???

I wonder if they are dploying in cupertino first to show apple that thheir lte netwrok isnt a myth. Also for testing the next iphones lte. Because according to s4gru, los gatos and cupertino are part of the san jose market, not san francisco's market.

wow some of the trolls got together a paid for a lawyer, if they were so pissed off why use an upgrade and contractually pay an extra ten dollars for use of phone, and go somewhere else
thats whats wrong with society "hey i'll agree to that" "oh wait I dont wanna anymore your evil"
Don't sue for the $10 fee, sue for the ****ty 4g coverage lol.
On Sprint's and Clearwire's website it says I should have full coverage, on Clearwire's it says I should have in-building 4g, yet lately I barely get service 3g or 4g, I'm getting 1x a lot more now.
The document is well written and it does highlight some points, such as, "What is Premium Data?" and the lack of definition by Sprint on such Premium Data.
I haven't looked at all of the references, but it looks like they might have something going on here.

I have also been getting a lot of 1x lately, here in Vegas. Even the new.Mikfroyo 4.6 is showing me 1x. I didn't think sense roms showed anything other than 3g, but Aamikam must've modded it, and I missed the note. Its irritating the crap out of me.

Horrible 3G speeds should i be concerned?

I'm having horrible 3G speeds at work here and was wondering if anyone else was having these issues? It shows i have full 3G bars yet when i run speed test i'm consistently getting only around 100 Kbps, I'm not sure if it's the service or the phone.
Anyone else noticing ridiculously slow 3G speeds?
Not sure. Here are my Verizon 3G speeds.

Here's my past couple ones on 3G. I dunno whether or not to call Verizon about this or not.
Why wouldn't you call Verizon about it? If it's a network problem, they could tell you. If it's a defective phone, they could help you with that as well.
I always get horrible 3g speeds at my job... similar to what you are seeing even though the signal is good. I think some towers are slower then others.
Were you getting better speeds before this phone?

Those look identical to Sprint 3G speeds.
Where are you located?

I would give verizon tech support a call, maybe they can provision the phone again and and maybe that would help. You're sitting in a good 3G and 4G area, there isn't any reason to get those kind of speeds you're seeing.

Ditto, I live in Ohio and my last speed check on 4G was almost 20 mbs down/15 mbs up.
In Fort Myers I've had less than desirable 4G speeds.

Herw in Northern VA 1-1.2k kbps and i have yet to get connected to a 4g network that can complete the test here in Fairfax county! Count me as extremely disappointed by that fact.

Good luck with that... Maybe they'll stop spending money on socialistic values and give you good folks technology.

3G & 4G results. I'm just south of West Palm Beach. It seems pretty consistent in this area. I've had it for about 2 weeks now, so far so good.

I am vacationing with family in York county in VA and just did a test. I got 5268kbps down and 811kbps up. No where near as good as my speed in Ohio but better than what I saw on your results. You would think that in a metropolitan area like yours it would be faster... meh.

[Reference] 4G speeds

I've always been curious how much 4G speeds vary from place to place. I travel a lot for work, but lets face it, Sprint coverage maps are pretty much a best case scenario or an Opium induced fantasy at best. Post your 4G speeds with a screen shot, (pics or it didn't happen), please no flaming. If you don't have 4G in your area, please don't troll! Hopefully Sprint will get you covered when lte rolls out.
Real simple, get speedtest.net. Check your 4g speeds.
Take at least 3 tests to show average.
Post results.

Ha, ain't got 4g here.
Speeds vary. If I take them in the morning i get 9mbps and at night. In the afternoon 4g is kinda bad

+1 Seams as though network traffic is definitely lower at night. Varies by tower as well. Just a few miles up the road in Kansas City, I can get upwards of 10M with a weaker signal then I have at home.

I was amazed at this phone on verizon.

You got me beat. I was amazed at the 24-26 I got in the Cincinnati-day ohio area. Coming from a galaxy s3 I was use to 6-8 on average.
This is the best I've gotten so far. Northwest Minneapolis suburbs.
I don't get higher than 9 down where I am. I'm actually sort of disappointed in this. I was hoping that my area was on XLTE. On regular LTE, the network is so saturated and crappy. I have 50/5 internet through Centurylink, with a Netgear Nighthawk router. My wifi speed tops out at 12 down. I get 26 down on my macbook, and 46 down on a wired connection.
I really was hoping for better results. I mean I know that the LTE situation in my area is a sad joke, but I have some pretty good speeds through CL.
I'm pretty happy

my area used to get horrible speeds of like 1mbps. I complained a lot. I think they finally fixed the towers here, and my g2 started getting like 10 to 15...ny note 4 gets 20 to 30. it's pretty awesome.

You guys still on "global" or did you switch to "LTE/CDMA"? Trying to decide if I should switch. Not really noticing any problems with Global but I haven't really ran much tests. Will do some today and post back.
I got 25mpbs where my g2 couldn't pull 10

switched to LTE/CDMA and noticed no difference.
Did this one just yesterday morning. Super happy.
Took this right after getting the phone.
The was on my Note 3, but the Note 4 would have gotten the exact same thing.

I get those speeds throughout my college campus in So Cal. I've actually stopped using the campus Wi-Fi because of it. Thank god for unlimited data.
