Volume+ on cm9 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Has anyone gotten this to work? I did Google search but only on my phone. And I've only found threads of others having the same issue. But maybe I missed the fix.

Didn't boost the audio for me until I rebooted it.

Thanks. I should have mentioned it's the headset modifications that aren't working. Speaker modifications work.

Nope. Headset boosting doesn't work at all on cm9. I'm going to try it on aokp see if it's any different. If it works I think I know which files to swap with cm9. And the developer of the app says he is trying to get it working on cm10

Well when i turn it up it gets quieter and is very unstable...instead of it being a gradual volume like a normal volume level...i wish i could just edit the file so nothing has to run in the background...

Nothing really is running in the background. Volume+ has an EXTREMELY low memory footprint and practically no CPU footprint.
BTW which version of Volume+ are you using?
Same here volume + ain't cutting it lol it doesn't do anything when I Boost the volume

I was using 1903 but that was really not working so i went back to 1902 and that was a lot better...as i raise the volume level it goes up and down...ie 16 would be much louder than 17...and 4-12 sound the same...i understand the cpu usage but editing the file directly would have no footprint especially on boot...

Does volume plus change the call volume, because mine is too loud.

Ah I too had issues with latest versions. I'm currently on 1.8 . But the thing is I don't think there is a specific file other than the kernel source file.

It's simple c language. I understand it, however the part I always seem to misunderstand is how to compile the kernel.

Correct kernel source for sgs2. Samsung was kind enough to add file load in sgs3 for sound, but doesn't help us here sorry.

how to prevent volume from automatically lowering when inserting audio cable

anyone know how? its a pain to have to re-increase the volume each time I plug the audio cable in in my car. thanks
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
I know...I hate that **** too...anyways one way is installing Volume Control+ from the store (free version) and using the volume lock function which locks ur volume setting for media/system/ring...etc. Try it out. Hope it works for u.

Correct not all apps are created equal. Pandora also has a similar issue. Beats mod works because you no longer give the apps a choice to pick the lib to use. Unfortunately, it also takes away my choice. You can play with your libs, get an eq that works and see why..
Thanks guys I'll check that stuff out. See what I can get out if it

Volume is limited on all Jellybean ROMs.

Hey everyone! I've noticed a problem with every Jellybean ROM I have flashed. Basically, with headphones, the volume is only about 1/2 as loud as any other ROM that isn't Jellybean. Anyone else have this problem, or a solution? Thanks!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Its a known bug . You can use Vodoo from the play store or try the FK09 leak. The volume bug seems fixed on it but watch out it will wipe your internal sd so make a backup of important files on your pc or external sd.
Edit:volume+ sux

Download Voodoo Louder in the app market...If your phone is rooted it optimizes the kernal and I know it was just updated for jellybean support...
Try the latest Codename
Thanks for the reply! What exactly is codename? An app?

Codename aka CNA is a jellybean rom in the Dev section. Op stated that the volume bug is fixed. Sweet rom too I was running it till I get my S3. Give it a try.

I use Volume+ and works well. Requires a restart before it kicks in after you set it for JB ROMs. Ignore the devs warning that it doesn't work for JB. Best $1.99 I've spent in awhile.

I tried Volume plus and could not get it to work, it just like distorted the audio. I got Vodoo and it makes it super loud if I want and does not distort the song! I love vodoo

What Audio Mod are you guys using?

Hey you guys I wanted to see what you guys were using to enhance your audio on the note 2. I've been just using Voodoo but it has been unsatisfying recently. There seems to be a lot more audio mods out there and kinda want to explore after hearing other people's experiences.
I'm using a combination of Voodoo and Viper4 android fx and with the factory headphones and a good seal, I get bass that hits hard enough to make my eyes feel like they are going to shake lol

i am on tweaked 2.3 as well. did you follow OP's install method on post #2 ? i made mistake on that part as it has to be done "in app" (after placing .apk in /system/app).i am successfully installing this EQ mod and all my music now sounds amazing :good:

Voodoo and Viper4Android with Poweramp. I'm going mainly for clarity and trying to make everything sound natural as possible. Though, I still haven't found my ideal profile and keep switching between settings. I'm listening to everything with a Sennheiser HD 439 I picked up for cheap.
