Error flashing cm9: install aborted - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I was running aokp and i wanted to try cm9. I downloaded the latest cm9 nightly and gapps, moved to my external sd card, rebooted into cwm, wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, installed zip from sdcard.
cwm version: v5.5.0.4
Here is the output:
Code:
-- Installing: /sdcard/cm9-20120806-NIGHTLY-d2att.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2att" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2att"
E:Error in /sdcard/cm9-20120806-NIGHTLY-d2att.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
After this i was able to reboot back into aokp.
How can i fix this issue preventing me from flashing cm9?

If you installed Google Wallet, there's a pretty good chance you messed up your build.prop. Change it back to its original values to get CM9 to flash.

Update your recovery....that's why you get the error 7 ...update through rom manager

help please!!! i also downloaded and flased gruesomewipe all first
omg i just tried to nand restore it says error: run nandroid-mobil.sh restore via adb
Which recovery are you on? If you are on Clockwork, please move to Amon Ra, as it is highly recommended. If you are already there, try a redownload. I know Grue took it down for a minute and posted a fixed one

your sd cards not full is it?
I had that happen to me last week with the theme ROM. I redownloaded and everything loaded good.
I also tried to flash Shooter Rom and froze on reboot splash screen. Good thing I nand backup which is a smart thing to do. But I wanted to flash so I did it twice but to avail. So what's next I've been flashing since I got my Evo and even before than I've flashed my Huawei Ascend to Cyanogen and learned how to flash from there so I got a little experience with Android. Anyone have suggestions ?

Are you using the right recovery?

I had to buy the new Rom manager on the playstore and flash my first nightly through there.
Otherwise you have to change some lines of code.
It's discussed in the T-Mobile cm9 nightly thread.

Make sure you downloaded the right version for your device; that's a buildprop error saying the device you're flashing to doesn't match the buildprop inside the file.

[Q] Sig verification failed?

Ok, (obvious newbie here)
I'm rooted with SU
I just attempted to install most recent CM10 Nightly and when trying to install it i get "Verifying update package... E: Signature verification failed...Installation aborted.
So um...I also tried this with the 2nd newest CM10 build just to see if anything different would happen and I got the same error.
Any ideas??

I'm using 6.0.1.2 isn't that the newest cwm?
is it because i did not select wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition before trying to install it?
*Update*- I just retried this after wiping factory data and cache and it gave me the same error with both CM10 and AOKP....frustrating

This is from September and there's still not a solution? Ugh, just my luck.
Having exact same error when trying to update through the built in process. Mine also says "location does not exist" as well as the signature verification error.
Please help if you can!
Thx,
-AJ

Very easy fix. After it "fails", go to "Install from SD card". Click the "Toggle Signature Verification" option. Then go back and try to install it again. I've found I have to do this every single time to successfully install the Nightly updates that are pushed OTA. Works like a dream afterwards tho.

aokp kernel

hello im currently on an older build of the aokp. ive decided to update to the newest build, but i see that it says i would have to update my kernel as well to use the new rom. Ive never done this and would appericate some help. I opened up the q & a forum and searched for kernel but it didnt tell me anything. thanks, step by step instructions would be awsome thanks.
The kernel is packaged with the rom. Download the rom and gapps. Wipe and flash them both in recovery. If you hold on another week or so, they're releasing a 4.2.2 milestone (supposedly)

If you are flashing a new version of Tasks aokp from an old version just wipe cache, wipe dalvik, flash newest version, flash gapps ( there is a newer version linked on his op). Kernel is built into the ROM.
If you are flashing from a different rom you need to factory reset and format system as well as wipe cache and dalvik.

Hit thanks instead of quote. You need to update your recovery version. That's what a status 7 means.

If you are using clockworkmod download ROM manager and update recovery. If you are using twrp install goo manager and update recovery script.

And if you got far enough into wiping that you can't boot into the phone, follow the link in my signature. Near the bottom of post #2, in the must have toolkit part, there are links to recovery flashable cwm and twrp zips. Cheers

That's not the rom's problem. That's mean the zip file maybe not properly download. Maybe it was not complete download or something similar like that. Did you check the md5sum?
