restart bootloader is the one you need.
you need the fastboot files as well as the drivers from your computer
this is return to stock, but you can get all the drivers and tools you need here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
once in the bootloader, type the command in a command prompt like i said.

ok kool thanks ..thats what i thought it would be ...
for some reason, on my Galaxy NOTE the file was flashable using CWM itself ...
and yeah because of poor prevliges , i cannot do any installs of drivers at work ..
thanks guys .

Flash it from rom manager app directly on your phone, when update is available it will show up in rom manager straight away.

Get rom manager from play store an flash it lol, you don't need to use fast boot or search for it just flash it from the app.

I'll post pictures of how to do it.

No need to scavenge, it's on Clockworkmod's website: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

Go to www.clockworkmod.com
Click on "ROM Manager"
Scroll until you find Galaxy Nexus
Click on the farthest link (Under the "Download Touch Recovery)
Move the file to the same directory as fastboot.exe (assuming that you got everything) (Also recommend renaming the file to something shorter, like cwm.img)
Make sure that your phone has USB Debugging checked
After you plug your Nexus via USB (Assuming that you got drivers ready), Shift+Right click on the directory where you got fastboot.exe and stuff
On the menu, click on "Open command window here"
On your phone, reboot into the bootloader
On your computer, type in "fastboot devices" so you know that fastboot is reading the Nexus
Type in "fastboot flash xxx.img" (xxx=name of the clockworkmod recovery)
Hopefully this helped you
Alternative way is to just simply download ROM manager on your rooted Nexus and flash the CWM touch there. (Though I'm not sure if you can flash CWM touch with the ROM manager...)

Here is how u manually install a Recovery.
First!!! You must go to this website and select your device's recovery!!!!

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Second!!! You must download the android SDK and install the platform-tools!!! Place the recovery in platform-tools!!!
Third!!! Open a command Prompt. Then copy the directory to the command prompt.
Then type in what you see. DO NOT COPY RECOVERY-CLOCKWORK-TOUCH-TORO-6.0.1.0-TORO.IMG!!!!
Type down your version of what you downloaded. It will be similar or the same.
Then put your phone into fastboot. Then press enter on the computer and done!!!
The only thing I left out was downloading & installing the SDK.
Understand??? Any questions???

You should take everyone's suggestion and figure out how to use fastboot.
Once you've figured it out, and flashed it, if you want a shortcut for future reference, download this, and replace the recovery.img file in it with the downloaded CWM that you want (making sure you renamed it recovery.img.

or you can just leave it named how it is for version keeping. instead of recovery.img, you just make it whatever the file name is. (tab is very helpful for finishing off a file name)

It still reacts on USB connects changing from 'HBOOT' to 'HBOOT_USB_PLUG' but navigating or selecting an option is not possible.
Another thing, making me wonder, is that this screen appears, after just hitting the power button - it's not necessarry to kepp VOL Down pressed...
Hopefully someone can help me out of this,
Thanks in advance,

Setup adb/fastboot.
Download the 4ext recovery img:
http://www.4ext.net/ddl/bravo/recovery.zip (extract the zip), and put it in the platform-tools folder of where your android sdk is.
Boot the phone into fastboot (hold power and back), then use this command:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Once your in recovery do a full wipe and flash a ROM.

It needs to be recognized by fastboot not adb. Download and install HTC sync then uninstall it leaving only the drivers behind. Also install these: http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
Then boot the phone into fastboot mode (power and back) and run "fastboot devices" to see if it's recognized. If it is follow the instructions in my first post.

Yeah, it's working, thanks a lot!
I tried to boot with "back + Power" several times.... but without USB connected...
EDIT: No, it wasn't regarding USB...
This only works from time to time, more less then more.. (hopefully you know what I mean)
Okay, now I have a way to get into the recovery, a big step forward!!
What now?
I'd like to "install" this recovery now, as I did before on my HD2 in the past but this is far long ago, so sorry for this stupid question:
How to replace the actual existing Recovery with the booted 4ext one?
On 4ext.net I found a way with a booted rom, but without...
Later on, I'd like to flash CyanogenMod 7, so I already downloaded the suggested PB99img_cm7r2.zip.
I remember this has s.th. to do regarding partitioning, right? What do I have to do with this file?
Can I flash this with fastboot ?
During usual bootloader startup it says "No image or wrong size"
AS you may see, I know a little, but it's damned long ago...
Sorry for my worse english, but I don't know how to describe this better
Hopefully you can help me anyway,
Thanks a lot in advance!!

Use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" to fully install the recovery. Rename the hboot(partition) file you downloaded to "PB99IMG.zip" and put it on the root of your SD card. Boot the phone into hboot and it will search for the file. When it finds it select yes to install it then reboot.
Go into recovery and wipe everything except the SD card then flash the ROM.

Hi,
thanks a lot for these great hints, but sadly I'm unable since yesterday to enter fastboot mode

Any alternative way to enter fastboot mode?

Is it you screen that not responding?
- If you turn off your phone and do VolDown+Power, to get in bootloader
- plug your phone in pc
- open a window cmd where you have the fastboot.exe and the recovery.img of CWM
- and type : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Well I'm not an expert, but with CWM recovery you wont be able to restore 4ext backups.
Or maybe just restart, remove battery, re flash the 4ext recovery (from the link on my first post) first to see if the touch will come back.

true that , if you can get non- touch 4ext recovery it will be better.
Maybe move the ribbon cable on the phone to see if the touch is getting working back.
Have you rooted your phone by yourself?
* I meant fastboost.exe, not adb.exe
1. Download sdk and install : http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html?hl=sk
2. Found the folder where fastboot.exe is and copy the recovery.img from the recovery of your choice. Lets try the 4ext first if it fixes the problem
3. Boot your device in bootloader : VolDown+power. you must be in ''fastboot usb'' notice in red. Usb connected of course
4. In the folder where the fastboot.exe is , shift+right click, choose ''open a commend window here''
5. type : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

how to bypass this error
how to flash rom from bootloader ?
if your device doesn't see wit the command fastboot device ,you must verify that the fastboot driver (htc bootloader) is corectly installed

mmm, if I do remember, it won't detect your device with '' fastboot devices'', can you just type : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ?
and then you should have something like : sending 'recovery' (5602 KB)... ......
usb debuggin is when you device is running the rom and you want to use adb or other stuff through the usb cable
if fastboot device doesn't work fastboot flash also.
i know i can't uses fastboot with my phone becauses i'm running windows 8.1 and the driver isn't compatible

You should be installing asob v129, v130 isn't working for us. By the way, you don't necessarily need fastboot to flash a recovery.
thanks to all all are great friends...thanks
tell me just one thing, how can i flash a recovery or rom without entering on recovery? and is it possible to flash that from bootloader only?
i'm using Windows 8.1...so do i need to install windows 7 on my pc to get install the driver for fastboot?
Win 8.1 has issues with the fastboot drivers, maybe dual boot a Linux distro or run a live CD
Actually, if you have an external card reader or a way to transfer a file to your SD card I'll just make a .zip for you that should fix your issue, let me know as I'm almost down with my paper I can just whip it up real quick

then boot into bootloader
except yes on your phone
it will flash a non touch version of 4ext recovery
(you will need to remove it from your sd card or it will always try to update)
boot to recovery
flash rom or restore backup
done

Yes, either take out the SD card and put it in the adapter like the one shown in the picture.

Place it in your computer and then put the ROM onto it, just put back into phone when finished, or:
2) If you're in recovery, connect phone to PC(ADB must be installed) open a terminal in adb/fastboot folder, and type adb push ROM.zip /sdcard2/ of course ROM.zip would be the name of the ROM .zip file you wish to push there. Just make sure you have the "ROM.zip" file in your local adb/fastboot folder, else if it is in a different folder you need to show the path to that folder for example: adb push c:\blahblah\blah\rom.zip it'll just be easier to place the rom in the local folder where adb is...
/sdcard2/ should work but you can also try to push it to /storage/ext_sd/

For some reason I can't open the link you linked to but even then...If it's from the htcdev downloads page, I wouldn't go for downloads there...Most of them are just Kernel Source code for the various regions, some RUUs but not a lot of "ROMs" you'll end up doing something that shouldn't be done, perhaps.
If you're going with Viper, first extract the boot.img file then flash it via fastboot flash boot boot.img then install the ROM. Just make sure you have the correct version. If you're still on 4.4.2 don't download a 4.4.3 Viper ROM as you'll have bootup times close to 10mins as a result of outdated firmware.

What?
Just extract the boot.img file from the .zip place it in your adb folder, boot into bootloader and flash with the command I gave. No need to try and extract anything in the .img file. Just the whole boot.img <<<as is and place it in folder.
That way you can flash the boot.img before flashing the ROM. You can place the whole ROM.zip file on your SD card and flash it like normal through custom recovery.

No, I don't mean that.
I don't have teamviewer unfortunately.
Hopefully you didn't go and just made a folder named "adb" on your computer. Perhaps it's just the way I read it when you say "have the boot.img in a adb folder on my pc" instead of perhaps "have the boot.img in the adb folder. Just want to make sure you we cut out all possible issues.
When you're in your adb folder(adb.exe and fastboot.exe inside folder), hold shift and then right click, you'll see a pop up, just go to "open command window here" or "open command prompt here" can't recall which it is but it's one of those two. It'll then open a command terminal already in the directory where you're at. Start your phone up(You said it goes straight to fastboot so it's fine then). When your phone is started up, type in the command prompt:
fastboot flash boot boot.img <<<That'll flash(hence fastboot flash) the boot.img file onto the boot partition. That's what that command means. Then type:
fastboot erase cache <<<Probably not needed but we can do it anyway.
Then go into TWRP recovery and flash the ROM that you downloaded like you normally would i.e Install zip, change directory to where your downloaded .zip file is on external SD card select it and flash as per usual. Follow installation through Aroma installer as per usual.

Just open a command prompt like I showed you. Hold shift in the folder, right click and select open command prompt/window here. That's it... It'll open the command terminal in the folder. Have your phone in fastboot mode and use the fastboot commands like I showed you.

hm The only time I recall on here of someone with similar problems it was because of an outdated TWRP. I'm not sure if that would be the problem for you though

Yeah try the newest 2.8.0.3. Wipe everything again and reinstall and let's check what it does. I also found the thread that I spoke about.
[Q] ViperOne M8 won't boot Post 5 and post 10 was the solution to their problem, both of which was outdated/corrupt TWRP version. It's worth a shot.

Hello, so i was working on my p1 and acidently flash wrong file and my huawei doesnt boot so i can go only on huawei fastboot so what i do ? its easy i think the huawei update pack with do something so start downloading it and put on sd card and i try to flash but what ? its say something error i try all the flash from huawei support no one from them doesnt work on my case so i decide to make some fastboot easy commands. But for you guys i decide to make it more easy so i put all my things on one program so everyone can work with it.The firmware i used to recover or better to say the base of this room is B194 and is Stock Rom nothing modified.
Must have adb or fastbooot installed on you pc if not my program offer you to install.
The pc must know your device you have a button check on my device (in my program if is there you device than you have good chance).
A cable .
And Brain most important.
https://mega.nz/#!JA8hXKha!YAm7sDVvaX1V5zgpRX19yvSjUy_n31j0NBhA_5uQBbQ
And this problem fix issue like mine if your device dont boot, if your device dont take stock rooms from sd card, if your device stay only on fastboot mode.
I think I have no brain.
Let me explain my case first.
Somehow my phone got bricked, it was never rooted or installed a custom room or install a recovery cwm.
I tried installing the stock firmwares from Venezuela carrier, and 2 General Firmwares (with volume up + power [sd/dload] and there was an error.
So now I try your method (Volume down+power) and then your program, I think it reconize the device and it appears there was no error in the install, but when I turn off and turn on the phone is still bricked (stuck only in huawei logo).
What should I do?
Sorry for my poor english...

Then the device will be the fastboot mode.
get this file then open it (Try open it by 7zip or winrar then extract it there),then click startCMD then type fastboot commands that i talked about it. but first type "fastboot devices" for be sure if it see your fastboot mode phone....... download this https://dl.twrp.me/a72q/twrp-3.6.2_11-1-a72q.img then rename it recovery(Right click on file then click properties and be sure if it says type of file: img file , so fullfile name must be recovery.img then put it into Adb&FastbootCommnderPrayForMe folder then enter this command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then type fastboot reboot then remove cable quick, try power on ur phone, if it still stuck on boot then Poweroff by holding power button 15 second then 2 second later press power button by Volume Up Button together after 3 second later unpress power then continue holding volume up button,If twrp menu opened, swipe right adn go Wipe menu and ONLY chose Clear Cache , then restart phone . if still stuck then go Adb&FastbootCommnderPrayForMe folder and copy recovery.img file to same place and rename it boot(full file name must be boot.img), then go open command then type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" after enter it,Then type fastboot reboot and enter it. if still do same . then Find ur firmware's actual boot.img from your phone device model's firmare version File(firmware versions around 2GB to 10GB)'s boot.img . u can find it in internet too.Hope all works and i will be happy for u too
when I type Fastboot devices my Phone is not regionized what should I do?

Normally PC does not find your device as MTP device while you Hold POWER+home+volumeDown button(I mean fastboot mode without phone bootup).Coz it Shows device as MTP device after Phone bootedup(online).Maybe you tried install its driver as MTP by chosing manual install ? first download and install real usb driver(Adb&fastboot driver) of your samsung phone. https://developer.samsung.com/android-usb-driver then install it. then replug ur phone. Then go Device Manager of your PC,then replug your usb cable, and if you see New Device found like "unknow device or fastboot" then click them then click Properties on it, then click Update driver then click browse for Driver then click Let me pick from list then UNCHECK(unclick) "Show compatible hardware" then find your SAMSUNG ADB driver(if u cant see then click PORTS maybe it installed under Ports drivers) then click next to update it as Fastboot driver . but You can change your PC language to English for See same words in your Pc menus for I help you better coz im not German . but if already your secreen opens ? then you need go phone Settings / about phone/ Tap your phone Firm version 10 times and enable developer menu then enable USB ADB debug for install adb driver easily.if your phone screen not showing anything on screen . then you must just do fastboot mode by fastboot mode keys for install fastboot(samsung android usb driver or ADB driver another name)
When I am in the recovery mode then I see the MTP Window. When I am in the Download Mode I see the other window. I don't now waht the fastboot mode is.

Ignore what the other guy said above, fastboot is not a thing on Samsung phones. You can make it work with some patches however, but by default there is no fastboot.
ok can you tell me in detail so what do you think is the problem and wehre can I find these patches

Thank you for remaining me this option I forgot about it, but I installed a custom Rom, but I'd like to run again on the original software can I install it again. If not, it doesn't matter, but it would be better.
