Does it work by touching the google search bar widget?

Where is the zip?
Sent from my Red S3

wheres the zip??? does this work with stock rom rooted???

After u install it will have its own Google search bar widget. But yeah it works
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

i didnt think the voice recog part of it worked

Is there an thread detailing this MOD with the zip source?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224
I wouldn't get too excited about it, it seems to be very buggy. I couldn't get it to work properly even following all their steps.
Edit: With the new guidance, everything works perfectly with stock root GS3!

i successfully installed in on my phone, only problem im running into is that when i press the mic it pops up didnt catch that, try speaking again, retry any idea on how to fix this? thanks

[ROM] [RELEASE] BravoX RC2 by bandroidx

[copied from my development thread in the general section for easy finding of people unaware of that thread]
Ok I got all the bugs worked out and I think it's ready for public testing.
May i present the first ROM for the Motorola Bravo:
BravoX RC2 by bandroidX
Includes:
-Fully Deodexed Framework and Apps
--Deodexed means fully themeable
-Optimized/zip aligned apks
-Bloatware Removed:
--All ATT Bloat (except FM Radio app)
--Vlingo, Where and YP
--Vsuite voice commander is gone
-Atrix Forest Live Wallpaper (weather changing)
-Atrix ringtones and notifications
-Wifi Tethering is included
-New bootanimation thanks to heydabop!
-Minor tweaks/enhancements
-stock swype (deodexed) included
-you will retain root, superuser, busybox, and bravo recovery.
NOTE: if you have swype beta I would recommend uninstalling it first and ridding your phone of all swype beta files. then flash the rom, then remove the stock swype and its lib and then install swype beta. if you are using stock swype you can just flash the rom.
Instructions
1) Bootstrap Recovery using my bootstrap recovery app (found in the android market, now that I am done with the ROM I will focus on finishing the ad supported version of the app, for now please consider supporting my work and buying recovery from the market)
2) Perform a nandroid backup.
3) Dont wipe anything!
4) Select to flash the zip from your sdcard.
5) reboot. the update.zip will wipe your dalvik cache for you which will slow down your next boot, let it take a while, dont pull the battery.
6) Go to about and confirm it says bravoX RC2. The boot animation should be good proof the flash worked too

Enjoy! Consider flashing heydabop's battery mod, hopefully many more will use the rom as a starting point, i encourage you to make some cool flashable themes!
Loaded this on my brother's Bravo and so far its running great. Smooth and fast. Glad to see some development for Bravo users.
Here's a battery icon theme and an incomplete statusbar theme for bandroidx's ROM.

@heydabop this looks great on the phone, thanks!
@ bandroidx I do have one problem. When I try to launch the camera app it closes by itself and a message appears briefly saying, "Oops, cannot open camera, please try again later." I wiped cache and dalvik again just to make sure. I also cleared app data for it under application tab and still have the same problem. You think I should wipe data/cache/dalvik and reflash rom?

Lets wait to see if any other testers have this problem, maybe its unrelated in some way.
actually, you flashed heydabops framework? he did have market problems at one point, i wonder if camera is also affected.
Can someone w/o the batt mod or status bar mod report back
and someone else with the mod?
I will check my phone in the meantime.

Ok I just tested and my camera works fine w/ RC2 + heydabops dark status bar.
can you run alogcat and send me the log?
My camera works with my status bar, tho I'm still on RC1.
I had the problem before flashing heydabop's icons. I've never ran a logcat. I'll look up how to do it and get it to you.

Nice. I just got this loaded onto my phone along with heydabop's theme and it looks great so far even though I'm still having problems trying to get rid of this "permanent" sliding lock screen and get back the option "allow apps from unknown sources" since that disappeared and I have no clue how to fix those two.
The mod works fine, though.
So far so good Bando! Thanks for it all. I'm needing a lesson on UOT kitchen now.

[Q] search/voice widget wont work(move)

i have samsung sgh-t989 that has been rooted and is running the darkside 2.5.1 dewizzed rom. everything else works perfect, but search widget text input area stays grayed out. voice search force closes right after inputting voice. any known fixes? would've posted in the rom thread if i could, but don't have 10 posts. reposting from general forum.
Have you tried to fix permissions in recovery? Usually fixes most FC issues.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Posted in the ROM thread for you also.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Try unistalling search from market and ibstalling again. Also do the same for voice search. But try this after you have tried clearing cache , dalvik and fixing permissions in recovery menu. Did you do a flash without wiping or with?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
thanks for suggestions let me get on them
The 10 post thing has thrown me for a few loops as well as I did some debugging on the CM7 ROM but couldn't contribute on the Dev thread. Let me know if you get this fixed as I have not tried to set up the Search at all yet.
RK and Darkside Team...thanks so much for Dewizzed. I've been running it for about a week without any issues and will flash 2.5.1 tomorrow. Best of luck with your son and baby situations...prayers to you.
One thought: on my Glacier (and on CM7 on the SGS2) SIP calling was enabled and I used it a LOT. Is there any possibility on adding that sometime in the future? Or is that something that Samsung has crippled so much that it is not possible unless I move to CM7 (but then I lose Wifi Calling)?
Thank you!!
fixing permissions in recovery didnt work, wiped cache+dalvik cache before and after flashing but didnt work. dev thread said to install search from market and change permissions to rw+r+r after moving it into system/app but nope. hmm the OP says that 5.0.2.7 cwm is required but is 5.0.2.6 ok? the one i found when looking to root was 5.0.2.6
nevermind, advice from dev thread worked for search(forgot to reboot), need a workaround for voice search fc now.
Did you move the file to system or did you use Titanium to promote it to a system app? I've heard others say that the Titanium works well.
i manually moved it with root browser lite, did not know titanium had that
As I noted I have not tried it yet. If you find something that works for you please post it!
its getting late ill troubleshoot tomorrow, search works but voice still fc after input
update: okay new information, been only trying to search with voice search. turns out other commands work, so only search with voice does not work.
bump read somewhere that this is caused by removal of stock browser?

[Q] Xperia PLAY MIUI Root

Hello there this is my first post lol. Anyway i I wanted to ask if i could enable root on MIUI for Xperia Play. I use this fine ROM here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719746 but I cannot get root to work. I open LBE Guard but it still does not work... can someone help me with this? Also in the thread it says that face unlock works but that too does not seem to work. Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place but as I am a new user i could not post a reply on the actual thread for the rom. Thanks in advance
Download Root Checker off the market to double check that you are indeed rooted. I had an issue with a kernel where it said it was pre-rooted but for some reason mine wasn't.
Also, go through the pages on the thread and see if anyone has used a different kernel than the recommended one. Most ICS based roms will work with any ICS kernel. Make sure to keep your current one backed up on your computer in case none work. If a kernel is not compatible, you won't get past the kernel screen. Battery pull, flash next kernel. If all else fails go back to your current one
I'd say try the FXP ICS beta kernel. Or possibly DoomKernel (make sure its the ICS one AND you get the wifi fix if says its required).
www.xperiagamer.com has a list of kernels under the "rooted" section with links to the relevant XDA thread

i did use root checker before, but i fixed the problem, kinda. i reinstalled the rom and chose superSU in the AROMA installer instead of normal superuser, and that got root working. However, i would like to thank you very much for your reply as i can tell it took a lot of time to write.
on to the next problem, anyone got face unlock working? if so how

You're welcome I'd bookmark xperiagamer.com btw. Perfect site for the Play.
Anyway, I wouldn't recommend FaceUnlock. Its extremely temperamental and more often than not you'll end up having to use your PIN or Pattern unlock. The front camera on the Play is far to dim for FaceUnlock to be a feasible option. So, I'd advise against it and stick to the option you currently use

4.2 Camera and the DInc.

When I saw this, I though, "Your'e crazy!" But I tried it anyway...yeah, I'm crazy too...Amazingly, it actually works!! It's pretty slow (and the camera preview goes wonky just like the stock JB camera app), and video recording is broken on this ROM currently (Pons CM10-Unofficial-11-01). But the 4.2 camera actually works.
I copied the files over manually and fixed permissions (I used X-plore, but Root Explorer or adb would work as well), that way I could back up all the files I was replacing in case things went ugly. I quickly found:
The Problem. There's not enough room on the system partition for this newer (bigger) camera app and for the extra libs it requires. SO it will fail if you just try to flash the .zip. The easiest way to get it to work is to use Titanium Backup to uninstall some stuff. First to go is Gallery (we're replacing that), then I uninstalled Email, Exchange Services, Setup Wizard, Google One Time Init, and Trebuchet (make sure you have another launcher installed before you remove Trebuchet). THen, it was just a matter of copying the new files into place, fixing their permissions, and rebooting. But if you clean up some space on /system, you should be able to install the .zip from recovery and be good to go.

I did exactly what you put and it WORKED!!! you have no idea how excited I am thank you so very much!
Just by way of confirmation, it does work (and is easier) to install the 4.2 camera this way:
1. Install your favorite JB ROM and gapps; boot the phone.
2. Using Titanium, uninstall gallery, and a few other things as mentined in post #2.
3. Boot into recovery again and install the 4.2 camera zip. (the one that's patched to work on non-nexus devices, procured elsewhere)
4. Boot the phone again and enjoy the goodness!
If anybody figures out a way to get anything useful out of photosphere on this phone, let me know.

All good advice, and uninstalling unneeded system apps is prudent with JB Roms. But to short circuit all this - I simply use the Camera360 app, which I find to be much better than the native camera app.

Except this thread is about the 4.2 camera which has Photosphere it in, not the stock app itself.
Well photosphere seems to be pretty much a functional failure on the Dinc, but the new gallery app is pretty cool. It's fast (it took some time to 'settle in'), plus the photo editing features are pretty neat. I'm liking it!
do you have a link where the 4.2 camera zip is? I've been looking for days to find a way to get the camera working on this dinc running tinys cm10. if there is another thread with a detailed walkthrough or if you could maybe post one to help those like me looking for this camera fix it would be much appreciated. desperately need to get this monkey off my back so I can pass this phone on. thanks!

The 4.2 camera being discussed in this thread had been ripped from the Nexus 4 and patched by Android Police (I believe) to work on other phones. I don't have the link handy, but I'm not sure it would do you any good anyway. What are you trying to fix? The camera (except for video recording) works on tiny's CM10, works better than the 4.2 camera actually because the camera preview goes nuts sometimes on the 4.2 camera, and tiny's CM10 uses the legacy (ICS) camera which does not have the preview issues. If you really want the 4.2 camera, an easier way to get it is to flash tiny's CM10.1, but like I said, this will have the preview issues. The only difference between the default CM10.1 camera and the patched 4.2 camera is Photosphere, which does not work on our phones anyway.
If you're looking for a camera 'fix' for CM10, the only thing that needs fixing is the camcorder, and for that you have two options:
1. Low-quality video recording with VideoCam Illusions, free on the Play Store
2. Use a Gingerbread (or older) ROM.
sorry for misunderstanding, I've been looking everywhere to figure out the issues I'm having with this dinc. I can't get the camera working or Netflix running tinys cm10. I don't think it's the Rom but I can't figure out where I've gone wrong. I've been lurking these forums for a while and have been able to troubleshoot the three other devices pretty good with the amazing info on here, but this one is getting the best of me at the moment. bought this dinc reconditioned, it was running 2.3.4 and I followed a tutorial to downgrade to 2.2 and root and get s-off with cwm. I upgraded to the latest cwm recovery and have flashed this rom 3 times trying to make sure it was clean. just keep getting a black screen when I try any camera app until it force closes. when I play a movie on Netflix everything works but the video is a black screen, even the sound plays. I realize this is in the wrong place but I can't post in dev yet, maybe I should start a new thread?

Netflix is broken on this device past gingerbread. I've yet to hear a single user report video on Netflix as working.
Do you remember having a working camera when you first started using it? It could be hardware failure for the camera. Also which gapps file did you flash? If you flashed the wrong one it could cause funkiness. If you didn't flash any, the camera should be working. I know that doesn't make sense but try to answer these questions as best as you can.
I followed the link to the gapps from tinys cm10 thread and downloaded jb 20121011 signed. I'll try without gapps tomorrow to see what that does. I hadn't begun to look into the Netflix issue yet so thank you for saving me the time on that. if that's not the right gapps then I'll try another, I appreciate the help, thank you. thanks for an awesome Rom btw, I have yet to find one this nice for any other device I'm using. Happy New year!

[MOD] Google Wallet NFC fix (TW 4.3, wallet 2.0+)

This nfc fix is designed for 4.3 TW roms.
For older versions, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083
Install Instructions:
Navigate to /system/csc
Open features.xml
Look for <!-- NFC -->, and replace that section with the following:
Code:
<!-- NFC -->
<CscFeature_NFC_SetSecureEventType>GOOGLE</CscFeature_NFC_SetSecureEventType>
<CscFeature_SmartcardSvc_SetAccessControlType>NONE</CscFeature_SmartcardSvc_SetAccessControlType>
<CscFeature_NFC_DefaultCardModeConfig>ESE</CscFeature_NFC_DefaultCardModeConfig>
<CscFeature_NFC_CardModeRoutingTypeForEse>ROUTE_ON_WHEN_SCREEN_ON</CscFeature_NFC_CardModeRoutingTypeForEse>
[COLOR="Red"]<!-- If you want the NFC icon in the statusbar add this line, otherwise remove it -->[/COLOR]
<CscFeature_NFC_StatusBarIconType>Att</CscFeature_NFC_StatusBarIconType>
Download file below
Flash file in recovery
Install wallet by following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457569
Notes:
If you installed any other nfc fix, you'll need to revert back to your rom's "stock" system. Just flash your rom again.
This will work on either odexed or deodexed roms, as it will remove any associated .odex files.
Devs:
This is a modified Nfc.apk taken from a Sprint build.
Here's a rundown of what's happening:
NfcService looks at /system/etc/nfcee_access.xml and checks for the Google wallet signature.
It also looks at /system/etc/security_nfc_profile.dat for certain files and their sha-1. If it can't match the file with it's sha-1 it marks the system as tampered and will not allow access to the secure element.
This modified Nfc.apk will always return true when it looks at security_nfc_profile.dat.
To-do:
Create a script that will modify features.xml during install.
Download:
SGS3_4.3_TW_nfc_fix.zip
