player pro and beats don't seem to like each other - HTC One V

anytime I play music from player pro, beats will crash after a bit, or when a text comes through, but when using stock player this doesn't happen. also... my LED for notification won't flash if I'm using player pro. so sad!

no, meaning since i'm running CM9 now whatever conflict going on between beats, player pro, and the rest of my phone doesn't matter any more. was only curious if anyone else was having a similar issue.

[Q] Cyanogenmod Music Player

Does anybody have the actual .apk file for the Cyanogenmod 6.0 music player? i dont use Cyanogen regularly but i really liked the music app on it and was wondering if anybody had the app so i could install it. and does anybody know of a music app that will accept the apple headphone remote for pausing/volume?

Has anyone tried using the apple or "made for iPhone" headphones with inline controls on the evo? Do the controls work?

As far as i know, a couple music players work with them but not too well. the stock Evo music player had play/pause functionality, but after I tried installing other music players, cubed for example, I lost the functionality in the stock music player. I'm not sure about this music player, because im letting my brother borrow my headphones, but i will definitely try them when i get a chance.
Also, does anybody know if their is a music player that will give the song changing controls in the notification bar? same concept as when in a call and the notification bar is pulled down, the "end call" button is right there. I see it as being a simple concept but im not a developer so no disrespect to any of the awesome devs out in the world. still waiting for full Desire HD rom
Yes, i guess i did forget to mention this isn't from cyanogen, but it was from an aosp "like" rom that had the g2 launcher on it. I pulled it form that, but since it looked like the cyanogenmod one, i just uploaded it

[Q] SE music player widget

I could use some help from the more experienced Arc users.
I installed launcher pro, customized myself a nice looking UI, and loving it. But the only problem is it seems to not recognize the SE media player widget. I runs in the SE home panels but not LP. Is this happening with everyone's, or is it compatibility problem?
It only works with the arc launcher so yeah

that's lame, I might have to reconsider using the launcher, not really into paying for apps and the SE music player is pretty decent

Well, I'd still say that PowerAMP for example is 10000 times better than the stock player... that's actually what I use with my LauncherPro UI
Power amp is amazing, but try winamp too.

decent with the lack of shuffle repeat -.-
EDIT: confused shuffle and repeat
It has shuffle, I use it all the time.
You push the button on the left, it leads you to the library and you hit the shuffle button.

Same Problem

Where did you get that from? I find it hard to believe there is any significant sound quality difference between any two music apps on the same phone.
Its highly likely you just didn't have PowerAMP configured properly.
I like to theme my phone too. getting a little geeky , i tried Power amp, dun really like it, then ttpod, comes with a full screen widget as well. if ur too obsess with SE, try Google an app call W8 music player, its a music app from SE W8 Walkman phone. it support widget too, but the one that i fine is in orange, the theme color for W8. hope i'm not too late.
Just found the name of the app, its call MIUI player but there is ont themed as SE W8 player.

Music Player Vs Power Amp

The stock music player sounds much better on my earphones.. compared to power amp.
Does it mean the wolfson hardware only works for stock music player?

If stock music player sounds better, you really should try to play with the equalizer of poweramp. For me Poweramp is the best.
I hear a huge difference with my s2, so the wolson hardware is really doing it's job.
regards
same here , poweramp has better preset eq , make sure you get the latest ver of poweramp
Oh ok, thanks guys.. will try out.
u might want to try neutron music player also
Another + for poweramp. Nothing I've used comes close

I'd have to say my favorites would be poweramp or player pro.
At the minute though, I'd sway towards poweramp.

Agreed, neutron player is unreal. It's got everything you could ask for. Better quality than even poweramp.
Give it a go.
I keep switching between power amp and player pro. The only think I dont like about power amp is that even when it's closed it continues to run in the background using memory. I have been using the stock player more lately though.
I used Poweramp on my play but then tried out N7 player and fell in love with it, great user interface and the sound quality when using the equalizers was so much better IMO.
However using N7 on the S3 I found I had to tweak it more to get the sound I was after, not sure if that`s anything to do with the device though? Still using the same earphones as I did on the Play (Skull candy).
Think I`m gonna try poweramp again and see what if any difference there is now.
At first my favourite music player is Neutronmp.
It can play as much as my demanding : file type, format, bitrate.....never ever found one file that neutronmp cant play....exclude .dts.
Sounding so far v.s others app in detail and clearity....
Now, I put my eyes on vlc app. It even can play both tta and dts (not only .tta 6channels like neutronmp).
Vlc is not yet release officially, but a promise to be a king of music app

I must diagree, neutron sounds more "cold" and less focused compared to poweramp. It has also a lack of bass in the eq settings, even if you max everything out poweramp bass boost beats neutron in all aspects.

Fix for stuttering music on jb roms?

Probably been asked but every rom I use stutters especially on my favorite player poweramp. Is there a fix somebody knows about I haven't found one yet? I tried switching music files, different mods, buffers, etc. Drives me nuts since I listen to music daily on my phone.

Yeah some work some don't really like poweramp though. Might stick with neutron and noozxiode sounds great. No stuttering either go figure.

Tested on Galaxy Nexus (i9250), but maybe similar to s2.
I solved "my" problem with PowerAmp stuttering (micro lagging) in Jelly Bean 4.2.2 with these steps:
In Trickster Mod:
1.) This is the uppermost -> Set RAB (Read ahead Buffer) to 128 (exactly, no more).
2.) Make sure that min frequencies are 350 or more.
In PowerAmp:
3.) Settings/ Audio/ Advanced Tweaks/ Audio Buffer Size -> set to Large +250ms (probably not essential)
4.) Profit
Pls reply if it helps or not
(only for rooted phones)

Google Play Music

Is anybody experiencing this? The music player slices the album art in half when changing songs, it's not that bad, but it's annoying.

It still does it :/ maybe I'll just go back to old Google Play Music, I like it more than stock LG music player, stock LG music player sounds bad with headphones on, even with dolby, thanks anyway! It was worth the try the stock LG music player has cracks, when I put the bass up, and it's not even that my headphones are cracking, it's the crappy poor equalizer, because when I use Google Play Music with MusicFX, it doesn't crack, the only thing is that the volume is really low, but I love heavy bass with headphones.

Try ac!d sound mods.
Viper4Android (V4A) will give you all the mods for headphones you could wish for and it works with all players, I've had the sliced albums but if I exit and reenter the app it goes away sometimes. You should try XenoAmp it has Google Music support and is featured by a Dev here at XDA.

Play Music seems to work on CyanogenMod 11 (KitKat), but the option to have it save to SD card does not show in settings on my Droid RAZR Maxx (spyder, xt912). That's a big problem for me since I have a large music library.

Play music works flawlessly on any KK ROM, with great sound and the added bonus of the complete and quite useful Cyanogen DSP.

Except that the save to external SD card is not available under settings even though Google claims it should be. At least it isn't showing on my Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx (model xt912, aka spyder) running 3/31 nightly of CyanogenMod 11 (i.e. running KitKat 4.4.2). Once this problem is fixed than I will agree that it works flawlessly.
I'm currently trying to use the Music2SD module of the Xposed framework to work around the problem. It didn't work with the latest version of Music2SD (version 1.8). Now I'm trying the previous version (1.7.1) and it looks promising.
