Wel battery life is to early to discus. It needs some more power cycles. For now: Normally on 3G mine dropped 9/12% every hour while in standby, yesterday it was around 4/6 % every hour while in standby. I have a lot of stuff that syncs (3 exchange push, 4 IMAP 1hour), Whatsapp, Viber, VoIP, Facebook, Twitter.
Overall the ROMS feels finished, unlike the ROM that the HOX came shipped with. Everything works good now, you can clearly see that HTC has listened to the people.
Well 18th of august is a first ETA, could be later. But just like all the OTA's now, 401 will be the first to get it, all the others will follow.

It is 2.6.39 but a new release. Don't know why they have not added 3.0 or 3.1, maybe it needs more debuggin or they want to keep it for Android 4.1... Don't know.

Somebody here alreasy posted a link to an article which had spotted the htc one x+ in the wild, it cames with a tegra3+3.2 kernel+android 4.1.1

Benchmarks annihilated.

I know, seen that device aswel. Same chipset but LTE included. Also it makes use of the new touch technology on the SOC just like Nexus 7.

Email client is still incredible sh1t for html.....I can't believe this...yet I have to
I know this is not exactly on topic but does anyone know whether the email on CM10 builds can render this properly (at a more reasonable size!) ?
Thanks

The rumours are correct, Sense 4.1 finally killed ultra ultra smooth Rosie
Also the homescreen flip animation is a little changed it happens slower a little like frame rate locked I love it
It can still drop frames if u push it...but I'm not sure ultra can be done this time
App drawer opening remains laggy but like the 2.05 leak more smooth and lags less often on stock kernel
Performance in games and CPU governor is the exact same as 2.05 including broken multicore in interactive governor
Governor values still resets on screen unlock
Live wallpaper are now working, the launcher remains 60fps even with the phase beam LWP
Multitasking min frees are still the same
Flicker share is back (was gone in 2.05)

Tegra3+ is just the cleanest yield of Tegra3 now after half a year they are starting to perfect the quality
Custom kernels for the One X are already pushing it to Tegra3+ land, especially with GPU unlock

Is the stock email working again? It's just that I know a few people such as myself that can't get exchange to sync and receive push email really prefer the stock over Gmail.

[Q] Andromadus/ICS vs CyanogenMod 7

Hi,
I wonder if i should switch from CM7 to ICS/Andromadus.
is Andromadus ready for exeryday use yet? (i don't mind a few bugs, glitches or even a freeze a week. But i need a working phone)
how does it compare to CM7? (battery life, performance)
is CM9 worth a try? (there is no official build or is there?)
i've tried these three roms and know i've Andromadus beta 3
cyano 9 has got a lot of bugs and make a lot of freeze (with beta 3 i've got 3 freeze in 6 hours)
the battery with Andro goes well, nothing special but the performance are excellent
you have to try it

I think my battery has been lasting less since I flashed andro. Anyways I think it's the best rom out, so I'll keep staying with it and its test builds...

I believe yes, it is certainly ready for everyday use. I haven't gotten many glitches/freezes since beta 2 (even then a glitch or reboot might happen once a week max). Pretty much everything works (mms, camera has no preview glitch, etc).

IMO it's an upgrade feature wise. Many system apps and functions are just more polished IMO (contacts, dialer with google voice integration, etc). Battery life is noticeably worse than CM7 but I am still able to get through a day with no issues (my CM7 battery life ranged from 28-36 hours while Andromadus seems to be more like 19-28 depending on my usage).

Andromadus merges nearly everything from CyanogenMod's ICS branch (I think). This is apparent in the system settings such as lock screen customizations, notification bar toggles, etc. YES, it's worth a try!!

Cyanogen himself has a desire z so we'll get a official build when HTC stops dragging there feet and releases the desire hd kernel source.
That aside I too was a little iffy about flashing Androdamus being that there were a lot of bugs in the earlier beta's, So I waited a few months I'm glad that I did its good enuff to be used as a daily driver now. Depending on your battery (I bought a htc extended one over a month ago) the life will vary on heavy usage I get about 4 to 5 hrs, On Moderate I get 8 plus.
Andromadus is a HUGE upgrade from CM7 not only is it a newer version of Android but everything is more organized as far as settings and features go. Flash it if u don't like it you can always go back. . .
I stuck with CM6 until a week ago, tried CM9.
(totally skipped GB).
I flashed the CM9 and Andro ROMs.
I stuck with Andro since the camera actually worked...
So far - way less battery life, laggier than CM6 (our phones don't have the HP needed it's snappy enough for everyday use, it's just... you know, it's not like a dual core 1.4GHz phone). Lots of little bugs (missed notifications? can't use google voice / gtalk voice, graphical glitches sometimes, crashing programs, hanging) but if you only use a few apps and browse simple sites / check news it's not so bad.
Since you're on XDA it's almost safe to assume this won't phase you too much. It's not "THAT" bad, but it is definitely not like a commercial release yet. Many many things being worked out BUT it's definitely "usable".
I'm still using it It's just very annoying to have to update reimport contacts etc when new versions of the ROM come out. (I don't use contact sync). It's also annoying because of the app crashes or things that "don't work" like instagram etc. However, it looks way better than froyo!
If all your looking for is pretty, just use gingerbread with an ics theme

HTC One X custom rom - Screen Flicker Fix...

Hello everyone one,
I had an international HTC One X locked to the ThreeUK network (1.28). They were rubbish releasing updates namely 1.29.701.11
I get the screen flicker issue, and last night I rooted and installed Revolution HD 9.1.0 (sense 4.1) rom onto my phone.
The phone is soooo much snappier and faster, plus scores 700-800 more on antutu.
My question is, will this custom firmwire update I have done also fix the screen flicker issue and lost memory card data I was experiencing with 1.28 4.0.3??
Thanks.
New here and looking to stay

I'm getting conflicting reports that the screen flicker won't be fixed as I need that specific update and a custom rom will not fix it as it's more to do with the binary and not with the rom side?
Any other ideas ?

Can you reference these conflicting reports?
I firmly believe that the cusotm ROM you have will include the fix (ask the author) but it is fair to say that a few people found the fix didn't work but the majority of handsets were fixed by 1.29.xxx.11.
I cannot reference no. If I find the thread again i'll link it here.
So what's the best route of it being fixed? Maximum brightness?

Hmm, this is what I always wanted to know. Maybe you can shed light on this for me (getting ignored in custom kernel, or CM threads)
The custom kernels are made from the source right? I mean compiled?
Whats the latest one there is? Last time I was on custom kernel there was the official source only from the 0.7 version without the flicker fix.
Or is there already a new source? Or no source needed, they can just hack into the kernel without it?
Also the modded roms, they have their own kernels right? Also a new source with the flicker fix?
Also I didn't have flicker with .11 (got the phone shipped with it) and when I tested custom kernels = flickers, back to stock = no flicker.
On this OTA, it flickers, hoping it will settle, but I can already tell it was faster "fixed" for me on the .11
Maybe there was the data, which will it have to gather from new on as I am now after RUU etc.
I'm having the exact same issue on CM10. I know it's still an alpha build, so I'm willing to wait. But I've asked one of the developers directly, but he/she won't respond.
It is a big problem for some of us, yet it's being ignored. That alone doesn't sit right with me. Does that mean that it's not easy to fix or that it's not in the pipeline (yet)?

You know, I wouldn't mind the flickering as much I am now, if someone of them would at least say something to it. Like "not possible" or "working on it" but ignoring the questions just made me abandon CM for now and I am back to stock.

I hate sense too . Thats why I have most of it deactivated and use Nova launcher. There is even a sense cleaner here in the forum. But I just frozen the aps I don't like. Should help a bit with deactivating most of the sense stuffs.
I would go for CM, but there were few issues, I had with it besides the flickering.
It's been a while, but did anyone have any luck in fixing the screen flickering in CM10?

ncx-217 V7.5 Is my favorite kernel, it has improved my battery life by almost 10% Right now im running IceColdJelly and nxc-217. I highly recommend this kernel!
Hi!
I'm running the Domination (build 6) and the faux-007m, and it's great! Super smooth and a lot of juice. Charging every other night :good: good enough for me, then... Good luck finding your super combo
@schmuts
Have you tried faux? In that case, what made you go with ncx? (I know they're both nice )
@bjornops Yes, i used faux-007 when i used to use the CM10 Domination. But when i switched to IceColdJelly AOKP ncx-217 it is also made for IceColdJelly.
thanks all
im on 010m
If battery life is what you're after, go for the ncx 0.99 (older version). This is the non-2.17 kernel base.
I'm now using the CM10 Nightlies rom with ncx-217_v7.6 AOSP karnel
and it seems the best combo for battery life.
I undervolted a lot (-100mv) and working on 1GHZ speeds and able to get 4-4.5 hours
of screen time. (with wifi use) The best for me so far ...
Are you getting better results with viper?

I have 3G and Wi-Fi always on. (No turning off wi-fi when phone sleeps)
I have Facebook, Mail, Gmail, Twitter all syncing and push notifications on.
Stock kernel, so no speed tweaks.
I don't play action games. Mostly Words with friends, Draw Something, Seige Hero, Solitaire, Fruit Ninja. That's basicall all the games I play. Most of the time I am on Tapatalk, Facebook, Instagram, RSS Readers and news services.
60% screen brightness

[Q] HTC One X Official JB Update VS CyanogenMod

I have had my HTC One X for a while after I ditched my Sony Xperia Acro S.
I currently love the phone but is it worth it to upgrade to CyanogenMod (10)?
Or should I just wait for the official JB Update.
The reason why I am asking this question is because I have heard that when you root your phone and install a custom ROM, HTC would refuse to give OTA to those certain phones that were rooted/flashed. Is this true? or can I just root/flash without worry?
Just wanted to hear some thoughts.
Foot Note:
I know the JB update isn't out yet so we can't review it and the leaked ones aren't official but I'm just curious if its worth upgrading the CM 10.
OTA is a patch, so it can't be applied to a different ROM.
If you restore your original ROM, you will be able to receive updates. If you restore original recovery, you can install the update.

Depends really just on you. But if you are unlocked already. You can try it out and revert back as Ben said.
If you hate Sense as me, and like CM, CM10 can be your choice.
I have only few issues with CM10 but wont switch back to Stock despite them.
The issues I am still facing is:
1. flickering, despite different kernels, stock rom has this figured out better
2. WiFi also stock ROM much better, on CM it wont switch in my network to a better AP no matter what I do....
But thats about it it has many benefits for me. Some of them, that come to top of my head.
1. DPI Change to 240 and I wont have tweak the notification bar (also it has the nice color change on connect to google + percentage)
2. Updates, I love nightlies
3. Fast but so fast... no unnecessary crap
4. Multitasking much better as on Stock where its non existing
I love CM/AOKP (and all the builds based upon), but due to HTC's laziness and closed nature, the 'best & latest' drivers for the One X will always be with Sense. That is in respect to the latest kernel, camera framework, beats & audio drivers. Yeah sure HTC release their kernel sources eventually, but usually by the time they have a new kernel from them is out. I dread to think about when the community will get the 3.1 sources.
The camera is the biggest loss for me, the Sense camera, especially with the JB camera build is just far better than any CM/AOKP camera or Play Store app I've tried. To even come close we really need someone to take the camera out of CM/AOKP (or create a new app) and modify/update it solely for the One X.
When running Sense I really miss proper density settings (Sense crashes on density lower than 300), and with most ROMs I have to spend time de-bloating.
With all the hardware issues I've had with my One X at the start, HTC's retarded bootloader warranty policy, and other general unhappiness, I'm going with a Google phone next time - Best community support and openness. 3rd parties seem to only care about pushing their own software, most of which is just bad compared to AOSP. Then don't get me started on contract branded handsets, I don't know how people on here can handle getting updates soo late.
I prefer cyanogenmod ben it is true that SENSE bring many interesting feature ! :good:
I like the AOSP/CM10 look of Android, but there are issues that annoyed me and forced me to go back to sense roms. Flickering, Wifi, Battery and the most important one was Camera.
Now usually I get a sense rom and de-sense it.

HTC Wouldn't do that! They provided the ways to get root, so in a sort of way they support it.
Cyan Delta App
As an aside, if you switch to Cyanogenmod 10 you can use the Cyan Delta app from the Play Store. This is brilliant if you like the nightlies as it only downloads the actual changes and not the full rom.
This app really makes life easy if you like flashing a rom daily. Saves repeatedly loading all your apps and settings, etc.
Just a thought!!
Regarding your question, I was going to wait for the official OTA Jelly Bean update, but got sick of waiting. For what it's worth, my highest benchmark on Antutu with CM10 is 12686 though when you go to submit it says 12706. (I'm unsure why Antutu gives you one score then adds a bit on?). Highest score on ICS stock Rom 12486 preliminary and 12518 final.

Will We (The HTC One V) Community Definitely Get CM10.1/CM11?

I figured I can ask lol without harm, but with the announcement of JB 4.2 when the AOSP is released we will definitely get upgrades to CM10/11 or any other AOSP/AOKP build around here correct? Alot of the new features sounds kind of enticing lol.
yes we will surely get

Of course! No major thing changed in the way android works so not a reason to worry

Learning from android's website, in 4.2 they improved the keyboard (now with swipe gestures) and made a new camera app from scratch. They also improved google now, they added the abillity to share a video or photo wirelessly, they added an idle screensaver and that's about it...
Of course, if there is something changed at its core, they will never put it on the website. But i don't think 4.2 will be so much different than 4.1...
