Fitting Sound w/ Bootanimation - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i figured it out now on how to play a sound with a bootanimation..
Now i wonder if i can fit the sound to the animation or get a longer sound?
because my sound is 7sec long while my bootanimation is, i think, very long..

There are already two threads on this subject, one of which you've started.

this one different.. the thread i already made is to PUT/CHANGE the sound.
This one is to FIT the sound to the animation.
When the animation starts, so the sound.. When animation is done so the sound. IF u get what i mean bro..

I do yes, the point is it could have been posted on one of those two threads as it's RELEVANT to changing the boot animation sound.

i was wondering does the boot animation sound has a limit? i had a boot animation with sounds that last for 22 secs but the sound cuts off in the middle of the animation...why

and i was wondering the same thing. this happens to my android web-home at xda. your question is my first hit of many to come on this subject. i just got custom sound files to play wav thru "captivate sgs tools"(resident evil intro), only plays 10-15sec at the most and my boot takes an additional 5sec minimum.
hope you find something out there. i will try to hit back if i find something, even with different devices, the fix should be similar and possibly able to be ported.
again, good luck. lol.
I think the system only gives a 7 second gap for sound before it boots into the actual UI so yeah ur limited

Mine is a little different than this one, I guess I was not the first to think that this would make a cool looking boot!!
Edit: I just tried this animation, it does not scale to full 720p. If you want it to fill the screen you must edit the txt file, also seems a little slower than the one I created, although it seems to be a little bit better quality than mine.
Where do you push the sound file to
---------- Post added at 03:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:13 AM ----------
Thats not the tron boot thats the Nexus one boot
You either uploaded the wrong file or posted the wrong link because it was NOT the animation from the youtube video. This is the animation from the original Nexus.

Not sure if it is, but you can easily move it to /system/media using a file managing app

No you must push it to the /data/local folder either with a file manager app or through adb
Where does the sound go? Awesome animation! Thank you!!
Very cool. Thanks man. My only suggestion is to make the "galaxy nexus" text a bit larger and higher resolution.

I have not figured that one out yet. I think it has something to do with the Rom you are using. I thought I read somewhere that it needs to be with-in the framework-res file in order for the sound to play but I am not a developer so I can't say for sure.

I tried to make it a little bigger as I enlarged the text to 150%. As for the resolution I could not find a high res photo of the logo, so I had to go with the one I found on the Wiki page.

After installing this mod..
1.The time duration in call doesn't work..shows the term "select word" instead of time duration..
2.In Mx Player..the vido. lenght is not displayed..shows the term "select word"
if u cud fix these...the mod would be excellent..

HAVE TO BE ROOTED. IF the power on sound is annoying to you as to me I changed it off...I will provide a screenshot I used root explorer to rename the file and put a "y" at the end of the file....and the touch sound is little annoying hearing raindrops everywhere so i did the same method. .....
TO change these as something you wish copy a sound over change permissions and rename to what it once was...ONCE YOUR DONE REBOOT;;;
SCREENSHOT shows where files are located for your convenience. ...hope this helps

You don't have to change the touch sound, as there is already an option in settings to disable it.

Why is it when someone post useful info that people can use someone comes and tells people not to do what was told or shown. I bet later somewhere we are gonna see you ask about sounds files and wish gave you insight on how to change sound files and where they are . Just learn and stop always commenting against what contributors say.
works like a charm thanks!

I'm not sure how you got that from my post. I was replying in regards to "the touch sound is little annoying hearing raindrops everywhere so i did the same method." I assumed that he didn't realize that the option to turn it off was there. What was wrong with saying that this step is not necessary? I was not being confrontational.

Haven't tried yet but I would like to ask you one thing.
You tried to make animation from video? (let's say YouTube video)
Because if I make animation from rendered video, I always get white flashes between loops.
But if I make my one pictures, from PhotoShop (video which I render to png's, not to video format) - it's o.k.
It's soooo frustrating, can't find any solution.
I saw few posts related to this problem (I'm not the only one) but no answer.
One guy suggested that I should try to set FPS to lower value - but that doesn't help.
I have few animations and I find a way to include sound in it but they all flash white so it's useless....
Tnx mate, I'll try animation

U should keep on trying bro
i used Sony vegas, for converting and rendering. and boot animation factory for making the zip file.
yeah i used a video file. It took me some hours ( half day) to make this work. i got many errors while making this one.
i got white flashed & some times no boot animation just black screen.
i failed in adding sound, i have to learn more. and there are few steps that has to be done correctly, when converting a video to boot animation and to play sound while boot.
now i know to do that , this boot animation is the result.
i intend to learn from someone, if they have helping mentality.
btw fps settings changes the speed in which the animation runs. depending on the animation we can increase the fps.
in this im using 20. if u use 30 the animation will be faster. thats what i understood from researching. correct me if im wrong.
next is adding sound and text animations on video etc, thats what im thinking to do next.
Have rain sounds?
Edit : tried it,white screen appears more than 3x while playing the animation...

XS, this is tablet.
For sound you just have to rename mp3 to bootanim.mp3 and put it in a root of bootanimation.zip (and remember to set compression method to storage)
You are right for FPS, that's, of course, how you speed up animation.
Check my animation, I made a few.
