I'd like to hear anyone's experience with this. I like the idea, but his thread didn't seem to have any "success stories."
I flashed this a few days ago and it works no problem, except Google now the cards and search box dont show text for whatever reason, some have this problem but in the op he said he couldnt replicate the problem, all the rest of the modded gapps work great and look better inverted, I'm gonna keep running this and hope the problem gets fixed

Just to let you know his newest upload (justinbean8-7.zip), Google Now works. I had the same problem you did, but flashed this baby on to my Inc2 running Aero's CM10 and v12 kernel and it worked like a charm.

awesome work man! this is so smooth! just a few bugs that i found:
-always displays sprint carrier name (even though im verizon)
-status bar froze after backing up
-contacts didn't sync properly
once this is fully ported you can def count on a Donation..
i say we all give this dude a buck or 5. if he gets this booting and completely functional, then its the least we can do
Wifi, 3g, 2g, all of these importent things doesn't work at all with my phone
also i see that my phone network logo is sprint !!!!
i just restored to my cyanogenmod rom
and i'm witting to fix these bugs in this rom to install ICS in my inc2
thanks

Not sure how close this to the "final release", but does anyone else feel v4 isn't as large of a jump from ICS as the gingerbread-based miui was over the original aosp? I have played around with the ICS port and it feels a bit like it's almost it is more of a themed version of ICS than actually miui.
The boot takes awhile, whereas with GB it would have some ridiculously fast boot time. The menus and such look like ICS. Maybe it's just a case of "don't change what's not broken", but something about v4 feels like it's not as "WOW!" as miui usually is.
So, does MIUI look any different on ICS than on GB? Other than apparently better smoothness (though I've had no complaints on GB MIUI), what are the advantages of it? I'm asking because I think many of the improvements of ICS over GB have to do with the theming and UI improvements, which I'm imagining will be negated on the MIUI version.
When it's fully ported it will look like this:
http://miuiandroid.com/2011/12/miui-rom-ice-cream-sandwich-preview/
It's about 90% at the moment.. Just the gallery and some SMS tweaks, I think.
Im seeing a couple threads and apps on here with no update.zip, I know I like to use update.zips, helps me keep files I want in a form I can easily use and save.
Anyways this uses the hacked S Voice that does not require the modding of your build.prop (which breaks so many apps and functions on your phone). It will remove the original voicetalk.apk and remove vlingo.apk if you have it installed. so this is pretty much a universal patch now for phones that will work with S Voice.
It is also recommended to change you language and input settings.
1.System settings/ language and input/ voice recognition, now set this to Samsung powered by Vlingo.
2. Under voice search do the same if you have more than one option.
3.Text-to-speech output, you can change this to either Google text-to-speech, or SamsungTTS. I am using SamsungTTS atm and its working perfect.
Well here is the download enjoy!

Nah version 2 should be good for you, v3 only removes the other files that the user would have to remove before installing S Voice, which many arnt aware they have to, so v3 solves that problem and should cut down on some questions around here

There is also an app on the market called GooManager which allows you to get easy access to files on goo.im. aeroeven's 10.5 kernel for instance can be found under /dev/aeroeven/kernel/vivow. I find this app useful to stay on top of the latest rom/gapps/kernel releases.
In goo manager you have to go to devs and find aeroevan. For some reason he isn't in the "browse compatible ROMs" section

Really? Why do people say things like this? If you don't like it go back to stock, these are roms that are being worked on by our best devs and they are working with what they have, just be happy that we have ICS/JB at all. I for one am very happy with the alpha JB ROMs so far.

+1 - Aero JB ROM breaths new life into my old Inc2. Just LOVE it. Granted it might not for everyone but one has to be willing to accept a certain ... hmm how to say ... "imperfection" when using them. But the rewards are so much more plentiful than the shortcomings. Many thanks to all the devs working hard to making this possible.
Pretty simple and very noob question here...but as I was browsing around on Whitehawkx's goo.im, I came across what i THINK is the newest JB aokp build [aokp_d2tmo_jb-build-1-0729.zip]..however I could be wrong. It is for the phone "d2tmo" which I am pretty sure is for our Galaxy S3 T999's, however I just want to confirm before I flash it.
If someone could confirm or offer any feedback that would be great - thanks!

No call issues at the moment, however on the latest build 8/1, there is a FC problem with google search & google now. It'll probably be fixed in the next release as whitehawkx is aware of the issue and is most likely working on a solution for it.
He reported on twitter that he was aware of the issue. Haptic feedback is an issue as well and little other things here and there. A couple more releases and I see a stable build in our future!
