SplashFlasher Offline Image Converter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956434
**Note About SplashFlasher from regaw_leinad:
Uses ffmpeg, which converts them nicely. I looked at the source, and that will work for everything except for changing .img back to .png. It is hard coded for 480x800. If you need that functionality, change line 129 to
Code:
ffmpeg -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb565 -s 720x1280 -i splash.img -f image2 splash.png
Also, don't worry about the 480x800 warnings, it can be any res. also, the backup splash from phone and fastboot flash to phone wont work.

Since people are looking but not speaking, I'll kick it off by creating some splashes that you can enjoy...and the first of many to come is up!
Before I release this into the "wild" I will need a tester. I would like to test it S-ON & S-OFF (if that option is available), using a flashable ZIP and fastboot. Let me know if you are interested!
Here's an idea, a DNA double helix spinning around.

I can give it a shot, there is one catch though...splash screens are static. That being said, we can take a crack at a boot animation with the spinning included
The rooted slash screen has a mono color "google" and a unlocked lock picture.
A colored "google" and NO lock would be good for me.
Here is one I use on an EVO 4G.
Is this method tried and tested on a Nexus 7?
Your method seems similar to what I used to use on HTC devices.
If my experience with the Galaxy Nexus is anything to go on the method of changing splash screens is very different to the HTC method.

Ok, I see the image now. Since I don't own the device itself, can you help me better understand what you are referring to when you say unlocked lock picture?

That is why I have asked for testers It may come down to only being able to flash via fastboot, which should work on any device regardless of the manufacturer. I would imagine that the Nexus 7 would be closer to the Transformer in methodology than the GNex.

Its like the one I posted but the word google is in white and a picture of a white padlock in the unlocked position.
It would be nice just to have the google (in color) and no padlock.
The stock looks like the one on the left but google instead of HTC

Maybe, but the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 7 have the same splash screens and similar bootloader.
I would be looking to find where the the splash screen is stored before I asked anyone to attempt to flash anything.

I understand what you are saying, and I couldn't agree more. When I said that I asked for testers, this does not mean that I am going to hand them a file and let them go. This means that I need someone to work with, to identify what needs to be done and create a method that is safe for all Nexus owners to use. My team, while unknown to this community, is not about charging head-on without forethought. We also have quite a bit of experience, albeit with HTC devices but that does not limit our resources for Android as a whole. Each device is precious in it's own way to the owner, and we take it personally should something not go as planned. That is why we do our homework, our research AND our development with the end user in mind.
Now, I know this is easier said than done....but you can see all that we have done right here on XDA. We have a very good track record, and you can ask any number of people about the caliber of our work. Right now we are in need of any and all information that we can get about the Nexus 7, and for what you have provided thus far thank you!

Thanks for clearing that up but your thread title and OP reads like you already know how to change it.
If the nexus 7 does turn out to be similar to the Galaxy Nexus the stock splash image is not one big picture it is 1 or 2 small pictures.
Before you unlock your bootloader all you have is the Google logo in white in the center of the screen, once unlocked you have a small padlock at the bottom of the screen to indicate the unlock. Once the bootloader is relocked the padlock disappears.
I think contacting the developer of the app I linked in my previous post would be a good starting point.

This thread was originally posted over on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 forums (links in my sig), and after a good deal of success on both devices, I decided (with a lot of nudging lol) to post this here in the Nexus 7 forums too. I own a Nexus 7 with PA 3.0 installed, and so I can test everything and so far have had no issues. Also, because of the different screen size of the Nexus 7, I think the icons are a little small. Others who've tried these on their N7 don't seem to mind, so please let me know what you think. If they're too small for your liking, I'll work on making them bigger. I'm ""trying" to keep one APK for each theme to work across all devices.
Many of you are like me and have been looking for 1% battery increments on the amazing Paranoid Android ROM. The devs have been working so hard on making the rest of the ROM great for us that they just haven't had a chance to add battery %. So I've made several themes for just that purpose! I know you can install one of thousands of themes out there that add battery %, but I have always been partial to the stock look of ICS and JB, so my themes will only add battery percent icons, nothing more. They apply via the built-in theme manager, so no flashing required! Just download the theme(s) you want from the attachments below and install/apply like always. Also, please swing by this thread and hit the thanks button on the OP, ATTACK. It's his icon pack that has made most of these (maybe all) possible, given my rather limited photoshop skills. He OK'd the use of the icons, but I'd like to give him "something" back.
I've got 14 themes now.

Each theme of icons can be installed side by side on the same device. This way, if you want to change between different icons, you have the ability to do just that, without uninstalling or reinstalling anything. Also, the battery icons in the screenshot are a little bigger than they are now. I had an issue where the icons were slightly larger than the surrounding icons, but that's fixed. I just need new screenshots..........
Disclaimers/Warnings:
*This is my first attempt at theming, but they have been running perfectly fine on myriad Paranoid Galaxy Nexus', Nexus 4's, and my own Nexus 7 (as well as some other N7's people have installed on) and I have had no actual problems in performance or function reported by anybody in either forum, besides the normal bumps in the road any mod/theme will encounter. However, if for some reason you run into problems (themes won't apply, tablet dies, ROM borked, dragons flying out of the charging port, etc... ), I am not responsible. I will help you however I can, though. I honestly can't think of anything this theme could do to your phone anyway, but you never know.
*MAKE A BACKUP! I know that sounds silly for a theme, but since this is my first try, I suggest you have a backup just in case. So far I've had a good bit of downloads and comments in the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 threads, and I think it's safe to say its stable. Still, make a backup just in case.
*The theme works in all standard UI modes, (phone, phablet, various tablet) but I can't test every configuration out there. If you have issues let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.
*You will most likely get the "This theme is missing assets for your screen size" message, but hit apply anyway. Almost every theme I've ever seen throws this message, but it doesn't affect anything in these themes.
*It should work on each version of PA that comes out, but there is a chance something will change to break it. I'm really not sure. I'll test when each version comes out, until there's no more demand for this theme.
*These are designed for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and now Nexus 7, each running Paranoid Android 3.0. However, I've had several reports that they work on other devices and other ROMs, so you're welcome to try it. PA is the only ROM it is being tested on, however.
Thanks for looking, and if anybody has any issues or requests, feel free to let me know!! Any and all feedback is welcomed and encouraged! Enjoy!

ICS Circle looks really good. Thank you for this! :good:
I've changed the OP in each of my threads now, cleaning them up just a little, mostly the previews and uploads. My themes are no longer hosted on XDA, but instead are hosted on my Dropbox account. This way I don't have to upload them in 3 different threads everytime I have a new one or make a change. It's more of a copy-paste deal now. This has done better than I ever really anticipated, and so I never really thought I'd have as much on the OP's. I was actually running out of upload slots in the original thread lol. I read that the limit on Dropbox accounts is 20GB/day so I really don't think this will ever reach THAT level of popularity (I think I figured it would take something like 1816 downloads on each theme per day to reach that traffic) but if anybody has issues with downloads, I'll find someplace else to host the files. Worst case, I'll go back to putting them on XDA as attachments and maybe get a mod to add a post or two for me at the beginning of the thread, since I didn't have foresight enough to reserve them. (doh!)
Thank you all for the kind words, feedback, and even requests! This has been an awesome experience for me, and I am excited to keep working on it, even as simple as these are! Those of you who have made requests that I haven't fulfilled yet, I am working on it. Just a couple out there I think.... Those that I haven't been able to fulfill your requests, I apologize. I am really still a noob here, but it's a great learning experience!!!

I would like to learn how to do something like this myself. Do you have any guides you could link me to?

I want to try to make a apk theme that does battery icon and the soft buttons for navigation.

Sorry I took so long to answer, I've been working long hours but that's done now so I can finally catch up. I don't have any guides, what I did was download a theme that has EVERYTHING themed, decompiled it, and just started looking through the files. That taught me enough to understand the basics of what was going on, then I started Googling for specific questions. When I hit an impasse, I went to this thread for some help. The guys there were extremely helpful. After they got me started, I still had some issues but Google got me through those as well. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer what I can, but if you rank noobness from 1-10, 10 being expert, I'm still like a 2.5..........lol
To learn the battery icons you can decompile one of my themes and look at how it works. That is probably easier than trying to figure it out from scratch or looking at a full theme like I did. The soft buttons "should" work relatively the same. Let me know if you need anything!

Thanks for the great work. Could you tell me how to enlarge the font? I'm using the roboto one. The clock font is way bigger, if I could make them about the same that would be awesome.

To make them bigger the right way I need to remake the icons. I have a lot of work I'm doing this weekend on new themes and stuff like that, but I'd like to try and make those icons bigger too. I was copying the style on another theme and the text icons in it were a smaller size vertically than the others I've got, but bigger horizontally. I didn't want to mess up the horizontal spacing so I left it the same. I attached an older version to this post, the icons on this theme show up a little bigger than the newer version on the phone, due to a change I made. The actual icons are the same size, it's just the phone resizes them differently. That might work for you until I get the icons remade. You'll have to uninstall the version you have, then install this version. I don't think it will install over the other since it's an older version. Let me know what you think, though I still want to remake the icons.......

These are custom boot splash images to replace the plain white HTC logo when your phone boots up.
DO NOT FLASH THESE FILES ON THE ONE M9. YOU WILL HARD-BRICK YOUR PHONE.
How To Install
You must be s-off.
Flash in recovery.
Know your phone—I am not responsible for any bricks!
Important Information
You are replacing a partition on your phone, one that has nothing to do with your rom, recovery, or anything else. Changing roms will not restore the stock splash. The only ways to go back to stock are to 1) flash one of the stock splashes in this thread, 2) flash a complete stock firmware package in RUU mode, or 3) run a RUU.
These will not remove the red warning text on your boot screen. This text is not part of the splash image but is dynamically created by hboot when your bootloader is unlocked. You must flash a modified hboot to remove it. If you don't know what that is or how to do it, don't bother until you understand the risks involved.
If you flashed a GE hboot, you will have noticed that the red text is replaced with a small padlock. This padlock overlaps graphics like the beats logo on some of these splashes. I am not up to redoing all of them to correct this, but if there is a specific splash you'd like fixed and you ask nicely, I may take care of it.
Images below are lo-res thumbnails—actual splash screens were created in native 1080x1920 @ 468ppi.
I made most of these using touchofjobo's online tool here. If you like them, go to his thread and click thanks!
If none of these are to your liking, other users have also posted their own splashes in this thread if you're up to reading through all of it.
If you want to show your appreciation, donate to xda! I don't need the money.
Suggestions for Requests
If you'd like me to make one for you, post your request below and I'll give it a shot.
Bootsplash images are 1080 x 1920px. Graphic files you'd like to convert need to be at least 1200px high and preferably at least 2000px. This is so I have room for editing for best effect. Anything under 1600px high or so is going to look less sharp than one that is large enough because I have to stretch it to fit. (Note: Resizing a 600px image to be 2000px isn't going to help here—it needs to be large enough in the original.)
There are often larger versions of images you may have—you can use Google Image Search to find them (select Search Tools>Size>Larger than 2MP).
Images that are too small may look blurry or pixelated when converted to bootsplashes. There is nothing I can do about this.
Too Lazy to Sort Through All the Posts?
You can download every one of my splashes here. Includes the jpg files suitable for wallpaper use. (Note: Might not include the most recent splashes if I've done a bunch recently and haven't had time to update this file. Just check the edit timestamp on the OP against my last post in the thread.)
I've taken down a few splashes that were one-offs for someone, or that got <10 downloads. These splashes are still available in this zip file.
Will These Work on Other HTC Phones?
I have only installed these one my One (M7), so I do not guarantee—or recommend—flashing them on anything else. That being said, some brave folks have tried anyway.
They do not work on the M8 because the partition layout is not the same. THEY WILL HARD-BRICK A ONE M9 because the dd command will write the splash image to your aboot partition. While the files are sized correctly, the installation script will not work correctly. However, the zip files can be modified to work in fastboot; more on that here.
These have been confirmed to work on the One Max and Droid DNA as they share the same resolution and similar partition layouts.
They will not work on the One Mini because it has a different screen resolution. However, the partition layout is similar enough that the zip files will work if the splash images are sized down (you need the right application to do this, though it's not difficult). I have made a couple of Mini splashes in this thread; you can find them on pages 68 and 69. I can resize my splashes upon request.
They will also not work on either One X model (Evita or Endeavour), or the One X+, because the script writes to the wrong partition. It will likely just fail on the Evita, but could potentially soft-brick your Endeavour or One X+. (And even if the splash went to the right partition, the resolution is wrong so it would be distorted.)

Make the tfk the larger of the two you can make them both black and make the keywork which is the bottom symbol very small like on any nexus device the size of the lock icon.

FAQs - Massive Question Round Up Thread for Flo
፨ INTRODUCTION ፨
Hello! So you got your awesome flashy new tablet but you have a million questions to ask. Maybe it's your first Android tablet. Maybe you're late to the party. Maybe you forgot everything you know.
It's okay. This thread will help you. This thread is not to discourage you from posting a new one but simply to save you time in case your question has been answered but buried over time.
This thread will also help the forum stay fresh and clutter free. However if your question was not answered here, feel free to start your own.
፨ IMPORTANT ፨
There are some things to keep in mind before reading this thread:
It is impossible to gather all knowledge on this device, therefore this thread will always be incomplete. Please keep in mind that if something is not answered here it does not mean it wasn't elsewhere on the forum. Search before posting.
All of the questions/issues have been researched in depth and a source will be given if applicable. However, there is always a chance some of the information is wrong. Please only attempt a fix if you're comfortable doing so.
This thread will get quite long over time, I recommend you Ctrl+F (or equivalent) and search by keyword.
If you have any suggestions or want to submit a question/answer, PLEASE do so. It makes keeping this updated easier and lets the community participate. Credit will be given.
፨ FAQs ፨
Q: How do I unlock my bootloader/root/install a custom recovery?
A: philos64 walks you through the entire procedure. From stock, to unlocked bootloader, root and TWRP. Find his guide here.
Q: Is there a way to unlock my bootloader without losing my data? Thanks to marcusjt.
A: No. When you initiate the bootloader unlock process the data will be lost. It is recommended to unlock the bootloader before you start filling it with data. However if you have already done so you can still back up your apps with an external application, such as TitaniumBackup. Please be aware, however that if you install a custom ROM, it is recommended to not restore previous data and start fresh instead.
Q: I have to relock the bootloader, how do I go about doing that?
A: Just as easy as unlocking. Boot to the bootloader and on fastboot type: fastboot oem lock
Q: What is the difference between root and an unlocked bootloader?
A: An unlocked bootloader allows you to write protected partitions such as system or recovery. This lets you flash custom ROMs (un-official non-stock operating systems that have more functionality such as CyanogenMod, AOKP, ParanoidAndroid, etc.). Root does not mess with partitions, instead it grants you complete control over the OS (Android) itself. It will let you write and edit any file you wish. This lets you run apps like Titanium Backup and Adblock that need to either access or edit system files.
Q: This is my first Nexus device. I was told with my previous device to wait until an unlock or root method is found before upgrading to a new release. Is that the case here?
A: No. With Nexus devices there is no fear of having the bootloader locked down further. It will always be unlocked in the same fashion and root is a flash away.
Q: Will I lose OTA notifications if I root/unlock bootloader/install custom ROM? Thanks to marcusjt.
A: If all you do is root or unlock the bootloader then you will continue to receive OTA notifications from Google. Please be aware that root will be lost if you don't preserve it through your SU app. Most custom ROMs remove the ability to receive official OTA notifications from Google.
Q: What is the name of this Nexus 7? I keep hearing all these different names! Thanks to zaclimon.
A: Our device is named after a previous one with the same name, thus confusion will arise. The official name for it is Nexus 7 (2013), this is what Google calls it. Amazon brought a new name: Nexus 7 FHD presumably after "full high definition". Furthermore, there are two other names that refer to our device, Flo (this thread's title) refers to the board of the device (hardware). While Razor is the device's codename.
Q: Does the Nexus 7 support USB OTG?
A: According to forum members in this thread most OTG uses should work. However be aware that for certain devices external power might be needed.
Q: Is the notification light RGB? Why can I only have it flash white?
A: The software is reporting that the LED on the Nexus 7 is only white (my explanation here). Also, looking at the actual LED we can see that it can only support one color, white.
Q: Where is the NFC sensor? What about the wireless charger?
A: Both the NFC and the Qi coil are located in the middle of the device. X marks the spot, line up the X on the Nexus logo on the back to activate NFC or begin wireless charging.
Q: How do I take a screenshot?
A: Press power and volume down at the same time for a couple of seconds.
Q: Does the tablet have a magnetic screen on/off feature like its predecessor?
A: kpa2727 has confirmed that the tablet does indeed have a magnetic sensor for the display. The smart cover sensor is located on the bottom left of this device.
Q: Does it contain haptic feedback? (Vibration)
A: No, just like the previous N7 this one does not have any rumble feedback.
Q: Do I need an official wireless charger to charge my tablet without wires?
A: The Nexus 7 is Qi compatible which means that any Qi certified charger will work. Official or otherwise.
Q: Can I pair my Wiimote controller to my Nexus 7?
A: Since Google updated the bluetooth stack to Qualcomms in Android 4.2, Wiimotes and the like have not been able to pair. This is no different on the Nexus 7 running Android 4.3+ (or any other 4.x build). UPDATE: A new app hit the market that allows this for 4.x, however an external USB OTG adapter is needed (must be a EDR dongle with a CSR chipset).
Q: How come Google Wallet won't install? Play store says my device is not compatible.
A: The new Nexus 7 is missing the secure element required in order for Wallet to work at all. A Google rep has confirmed that the Nexus 7 lacks the hardware, this cannot be fixed through software. UPDATE: As of Android version 4.4, Wallet will begin to work with the Nexus 7 thanks to the new HCE feature.
Q: Why does GPS lock up on me?
A: This issue occurs on early builds of the software. Starting with build JSS15Q this has been fixed so all that needs to be done is update to the latest OTA or ROM based on this build. However if you would not like to update, sfhub has a solution in his thread that allows the GPS issue to be fixed without updating your OS.
Q: The touch screen is sometimes inaccurate and I get phantom touches, especially with multi-touches, why?
A: Different digitizer hardware were used on our N7 so depending on what touchscreen hardware you have this might be an issue. Not everyone will experience this and the latest JSS15Q update has fixed the problem for some users. If the update does not fix your issue, sfhub has a post located here that aims to fix the problem for most people.
Q: Wireless charging is not working, why?
A: Some early built tablets have an issue with the wireless connector. If you do not want to void your warranty simply get it exchanged. Otherwise if you're bold enough to open your tablet, tkdsl explains how to fix the issue (the four connectors are each pair to the right of the circle in this picture).
Q: The speakers are making a static/buzzing/white noise sound when my volume is low, is my unit defective?
A: No, it's not defective, this is the way the hardware was built. If you want to know what causes the issue, siraltus has a very good explanation here.
Q: I'm stuck in a bootloop/my tablet wont get past the startup animation. What can I do?
A: If you think you have soft bricked your device, ATGAdmin has a one click restore tool located here. It will restore your tablet to it's condition out of the box.
Q: What ROM, kernel or mod should I use? There are too many options!
A: Options are always good! While no one can tell you what works best for you, philos64 has created a repository of ROMs, kernels and more to make it easier to find than wading through the forum. His thread is located here. Thanks to pelago for informing me about the updated thread.
Q: Can my Nexus 7 (2013) Data Version place phone calls/send texts through mobile data?
A: It will likely not be available out of the box. Or at all. If devs take interest it MIGHT be possible. The previous Nexus 7 can only send SMS but no GSM calls however, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 can do both. Bottom line is: don't expect this, it will likely never happen, consider this before purchasing the tablet.
Q: Does the Nexus 7 (2013) have an IR (Infrared) blaster for TV control?
A: No, it does not.
Q: My question isn't answered here, what can I do?
A: Well that depends on what your situation is. Here are a couple of helpful tips, though:
If your question is a general one about the tablet (how do I X?) then first SEARCH the forums. Try different key words. If that doesn't answer your question, feel free to make a new thread.
If you don't want to start a thread and have stage fright, feel free to post your question here. Also, if you know the answer to a posted question, please answer it -- this thread is for the community to work together.
Forgot a reserve post, whoops
Can I buy the equipment in another country?
I have a doubt that is related to the fact that the tablet is not yet marketed in Portugal.
I know I can buy, but what I want to know is if I'm not having problems accessing Google Play and other services that may not yet be working in Portugal.

While it's possible to use a VPN to trick Google services to think you're in the us it's not recommended because you would always have to use it. Also payment becomes an issue.
If a service is not available in your country you would have to wait until Google expands I'm afraid
I know there is a tool out there for fixing a soft brick but my question is how could I have soft bricked when all I did yesterday was install apps and update to 4.3.....Then I charged the device and shut it off. Tried turning it on this morning and it won't go bast the Nexus logo. Please help!

The were some people that did brick on the update, but it's weird in your case because it sounds like you got a boot after the update. I just recommend you use the tool or factory reset it yourself. Otherwise check out the emergency thread by philos64 here.

Ended up calling Google support. The strange thing was, they couldn't even boot me into recovery. We kept getting a screen that said "no action". Ended up having to use a different button sequence but eventually we got into recovery and factory reset. Back in working order.

Im a noob. When custom roms comes out in the future, will it be a big factor if the model is wifi or 3g, or developers will just easily add a radio/baseband/modem into their custom roms and it will have support for 3g devices already?
Speaking of softbricks, I updated and unlocked/TWRP/rooted two days ago and rebooted two or three times with everything being just fine until this morning, where it wouldn't get past the X logo.
The last thing I had done before powering down last night was watch that "Luna" short in Play Movies. Weird
my N7 will not boot without having to format data. I unlocked the bootloader, rooted it with supersu and flashed twrp on it. It worked fine for a few hours, I hadn't installed any mods. Then all of a sudden I get stuck on the splash screen indefinitely several times. The only thing that brings it back is to go into recovery and format data.

This has to do with the way your device is identified. While I don't know a solution (short of doing what the image suggests) someone made a thread here. Perhaps he found another solution.

A couple of users have reported this happening to them when updating the tablet from the stock image it comes with. Looking around I found this thread and while the OP in that thread ended up trading the device for another one, before doing that try a couple of things. Restart the device (obvious, I know, but still, hold down power for 30 secs, let it reboot). If that does not work, attempt a hard reset (it will wipe your data). This should definitely fix the issue and remember that the first boot will take longer so don't freak out after the reset.

I requested to delete my thread because it was useless to have a duplicate with your. I think we don't need to have several posts for trying to resolve problems (all problems are an emergency, but sometimes not real )
And it's more easier for members to search ONE thread for post a problem and having a solution.
But before to post something, members need to read and search in this thread before. A solution for a problem was maybe posted before
Thanks

What This Mod Does:
The Galaxy Nexus GSM has pitifully low volume. Previous fixes like the Volume+ app and Franco's app only increased the volume on music playback, or in the headphones, but did nothing for in-call volume or notifications.
This mod changes all that. It will increase ALL volume, across the entire phone: ringtone, music, notifications, loudspeaker sound, ear speaker sound, in-call volume, and headset.
Requirements:
-Rooted.
-Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.
-KitKat Deodexed OR Odexed.
-Nandroid Backup, I implore people to have at least one recent one as this method is faster.
Installation:
*Revert previously installed patch as necessary.
1. Copy zip to Internal Storage
2. Boot to custom recovery
3. Install zip from sdcard
4. Reboot
5. Choose EIZO ReWire PRO E under Settings > Sound > Music Effects
Note: If you do not have the "Music Effects" submenu then EIZO should be enabled by default since it's the only DSP present.
FAQ:
What you should do:
Configure EIZO, Select it in Music Effects.
Refer to the Op for EIZO settings.
Practice tuning your own values. EVERY user has their own listening experience. What sounds good to one and not the other doesn't become the fault of the MOD.
Keep backups of your Alsa Mixer if you use call recording BEFORE flashing this MOD
Keep backups (The revert is safe) but I am not responsible for loops if you flash this on another device.
Flash the MOD after every ROM flash. Not necessarily kernel flash.
Search if your ROM has been mentioned. KEYWORDS are a must. Example is 'PA works' and the results will be displayed. If not feel free to ask and I shall assist you.
What you shouldn't do:
Test the loudness via Settings. There is an implemented system limiter so you can't tell the difference. Call yourself or sms yourself so you can know the difference.
Complain of distortion without testing your own values. I've set a recommend layout in the OP hoping it's to give you an idea.
Error 7, Error 7 is a halt procedure. Please debug the error and see what's written before saying Error 7 only.
Alternate flashing. (I know some of you prefer to flash the Gnexus mod on the N7 but doing so breaks the media codes, if you have the patience to swap the media codes in etc folder of the N7 then it's fine)
Don't use Noozy lockscreen controls, they're unreliable till a new app is remade.
Don't use compression in EIZO. Causes massive volume fluctuations as it was set to be an AVLS.
Please refrain from asking about PowerAMP as it denies the use of third party DSP's which make PlayerPro a better alternative.

Yes, time to replace the 2 yo Kindle Fire gen 1. I'm using my tablet more and more, so a nicer one time has come.
Not really dodging the N5, I just spend a lot of time in the woods and the weather, Got a chance at a S4 Active International for cheap, so went with it. After a dev I know drowned his GNex trying to scooter surf a puddle......
My GNex sounds good, works well, has a beautiful screen. I'll see what comes along. Kinda like the way Google/Motorola is moving right now, I'm thinking those may become the Nexus of the future.

Even if official support died, I love how it still hasn't affected the market value for it. It still stays strong as a $200 device regardless of being in the market for 3-4 years now.
Heeeeeeey now don't be bringing up sad stories My N4 is a hero, it braced through the deadliest typhoon ever, a deadly quake and 5 ft floods If anything it deserves service of the year award
Awesome! Finally! Been waiting for this for so long. I'm crying tears of joy :crying:

Yeah I did manage to get it running. I had to finalize things, and after Yolanda hit here I lost a lot of data so everything is being reworked on.
just wanted to double check. Thank you for the reply I apologize if the question was already covered.

I don't see any of those settings, are these not present on N7?
Edit.- Nevermind, I figure it out what I was doing wrong. Sounds great.
[BOOTANIM][16 MAY 2016][UPDATE]Catching Fire[SENSE][FLASHABLE & NON]-NEW BLUE VERSION
I have created a boot animation from the artwork in the movie Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Below are some pics used in the animation. I have also included sound. The zip is flashable from TWRP or CWM and will place the boot animation and sound files in the system/customize/resource directory (Should be okay for SENSE 4.0, 5.0, 5.5 and 6).
*Tested with Sense 5.5 and Sense 6.0
UPDATE: I have rebuilt the animation from the highest quality source with the highest quality settings for the jpegs in the bootanimation. This VERY HIGH QUALITY version is available from devhost at the link listed below.
2ND UPDATE: I have made a silver blue version which is available for download below.
Boot Animation-Catching Fire BLUE VERSION(with audio)-flashable-VERY HIGH QUALITY.zip
Boot Animation-Catching Fire BLUE VERSION(without audio)-flashable-VERY HIGH QUALITY.zip
Boot Animation-Catching Fire(with audio)-flashable-VERY HIGH QUALITY.zip
Boot Animation-Catching Fire(without audio)-flashable-VERY HIGH QUALITY.zip

I will have some time on Friday to update the boot animation using a higher quality video source and will also begin work on a blue version. Depending on how perfect I need the animation to be, I might complete it this weekend as well.
Thank you for your feedback.
Hiya. Great animation, love it. I've gotten it to work a couple times, but it tends to force me to reflash my rom. I'm running InsertCoin, with Elementalx. Sometimes the animation looks like a graphics card on the fritz, then hangs. Other times, I lost the ability to turn off my screen, which is terrible for battery life. Please fix, I want this animation!
EDIT: I managed to get the GPU fritzing issue to stop, so just a beautiful animation. I had to slow down my CPU/GPU OCs. The screen won't turn off once Android is booted though. Power button, sweep to sleep, timeout have no effect. Is the animation flashing overwriting part of the kernel? Also, I tried to install this manually in the System folder (hTC_bootup.zip thing). This resulted in only a black screen during the animation phase of boot.

Could you also link me to a non-flashable version so I can see if it can be run by manually placing it in System>Customization?
Added hTC_bootup_one.zip

No. The flashable zip is only installing two files (hTC_bootup_one.zip and HTC_Sense5_Boot.mp3) into the system/customize/resource directory.

I have added a link to the hTC_bootup_one.zip file to the OP. This is the file you would need to manually install to the system/customize/resource directory. If you want to install the audio manually as well you will find it in the flashable zip file in the directory system/customize/resource (HTC_Sense5_Boot.mp3).
I'll give that a try. Might be that my overclock was screwing it up. Slowing it down didn't help with the screen, but maybe manually installing it will help. Since the audio is labeled Sense 5, does that mean a no go on Sense 6? Maybe I just need to rename it. I'll look. Thank you! You probably didn't know this, but I'm kinda new here.
UPDATE : OK, the file manually installed works perfectly. Thank you again! I'll flash the file without audio this weekend to see how that works out. Any reason the audio file would cause screen off to stop working?

Glad to hear it works for you! I am running sense 6 and have audio during the boot animation with the file HTC_Sense5_Boot.mp3. There is no reason I know of that would have the presence of the audio file cause screen off to stop working. Are you getting audio during your boot animation(assuming you flashed with audio or copied the audio file manually to system/customize/resource)?
Alright, I unzipped the bootable (fresh download) and copied it to the resource folder, and address the "other" permission. The animation and sound plays beautifully, but the screen won't turnoff by any method. Deleted the audio file, rebooted, and animation plays perfectly and screen turnoff functionality is restored. The Digital Rain thread is having some issues with sound too, but probably not the same. I'm keeping the animation, but can't use the audio. Let me know if I can test anything else for you!

I think this sample is a vast improvement over the first. I went slightly lighter than the vivid blue to maintain the right look of the pennant (which was lost in the first sample).
