After shooting some searches on Q&A about unlocking bootloader on xperia play with "Rooting Status: No", I've learned that unlocking can still be achieved (Take note that I didn't find any steps, only references). So I went searching for guides to do so, but without success. If anyone got a direct link to such a guide, I would really appreciate it!
Please note that there is a 0,01% chance of retardation and missing the guides, when they were in front of my eyes.
Thank you in advance!
You must pay 24$ to get it done from Alejandrissimo. That's the only way.

I trust you, but the problem is that I can't pay any money via internet, not that I don't have them, it's just that I don't have any methods available to do so at this point.

Well, I just went to Western Union with one of my parents and sent some money to him and then he did it I suggest you do the same if you can.
You can go down to your local store, buy a $25 prepaid card, give him the stuff, and done! He'll unlock it!
Well the thing I want to know still is how he does it. Do I send him the money and the phone? Or just the money and he gives me a code? Or what is actually happening.

he uses teamviewer and guides you through it, he charges because it costs him to buy the tokens or whatever you want to call them. They have to be bought in batch.

Good guy, he unlocked my boot loader in a matter of minutes. The hardest part was removing that damn sticker, mine was like super glued on or something. That and bridging the connection while attaching the USB. If only I had 3 arms... O the possibilities...

hi,guys,I got my inc2 S-OFF、Root、Recovery with chinese and network unlock!
The method to get s-off on the inc2 is not the same as incs, the S58 file is not the same. I haven't the s58 file for incs2,but today ,i found a person to get the inc2 s-off,but not to use xtc clip, now my incs2 is s-off and unlock.and can use gsm、WCDMA、CDMA SIM、USIM and UIM card,in china ,CDMA Network must use UIM Card, but he didn't tell me the method,I pay for it about 50 RMB,you can see this web, there are photos of my inc2:
the outsidelinks "ACD168 " had told us
I am a new user are not permitted to post outside links in their messages,
who can tell me how to post outsidelinks and upload photos??

He paid someone to unlock the phone. Most likely used a sim unlock clip. Nothing to see here.
it is the first known inc2 S-OFF though.

XTC doesn't support the Incredible 2 yet (it supports Incredible S). So the fact that it has been unlocked is at least a step in the right direction. XTC Pay-As-You-Go might be worth the money at this point.
I'd gladly pay something to have my inc2 S-off!
Please keep the discussion development-oriented so that this topic isn't locked. Please take any meta-discussions to the General area.
Thanks!
If we can get S-Off on our Inc2's, would the temporary root as stated before, be used to gain full time root access?

So, this might be a stupid question, but in regards to s-off, I know that up until recently on my INC (ADR6300), I did NOT have s-off on my INC, (until when I needed to flash my radio firmware so my video camera would work) and I was able to load whatever rom I wanted. Granted, I did use unrevoked initially to get perm root, so I am assuming that is the reason that we are stuck on the INC2's? (ADR6350)
Obviously, the end goal is to get S-off, but before that we would be OK (more or less) if we could just write to /system, right?

It isn't promising because he took it to somebody else who looks to have used a hardware clip to unlock it, whereas we're looking for software solutions.
in that sense, then yes... looks like it. but i was pretty ready to get a clip to get it working. the way i see it, as long as we are not too far behind IS's root development, then it's good news
It reminds me of the dss days. People would pay alot of money for "Special hardware and software" to unlock. Then a few months later a cheap software update would come up for free to everyone. Lets just hope this is how it goes with the new lock downs companies are implementing with their new phones.
Hi,
Before stating my question I'd just like to say that I have searched for an answer to my problem, but I haven't really found anything clear. If I've missed something completely obvious, feel free to slap me & link it
Right, so basically I've been trying to unlock the bootloader for my Xperia Play R800i using the method found on the sonymobile.com website. However, when I get onto the service menu (doing all that fancy *#*#737 stuff) it tells me "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
I tried to research about this message and if I could still unlock my bootloader, and I found out that all I needed to do was unlock my sim (I'm on the 3 network). Before going and looking into whatever is needed to get the unlock code, I read somewhere that it wasn't just as simple as unlocking the sim on it's own.
From here I'm kind of lost, and have no idea what to do - any help would be really appreciated
If there's any information you need and I haven't given, just ask for it and I'll try to get it to the best of my ability.
Oh, and I'm not exactly the most tech-savvy person

I have an HTC one with software number: 1.10.605.8 and I have been trying to unlock the bootloader for 4 hours with no luck. I have tried using multiple different tutorials but none have worked so I have been trying to achieve an unlocked bootloader by using hansoon 2000's toolkit. Everything looks like it will work in the command prompt when I am searching for the identifier token but when I post it into the htcdev website I get
"Error Code: 160.
Error Reason: MID Not Allowed."
If there is anyone that could please help me I would really appreciate it.

And search does not always mean "search", more like scour or seek. If you read the general forums for this device for 5 minutes you would see that its not unlockable. Even searching google would show you this. Its not a big deal, just look around next time
Depending on how much getting an unlocked bootloader is worth to you, you might want to read this thread - Verizon HTC One General - Purchased a JavaCard for S-OFF.
Among the many things you can do with S-Off you can use the Super CID tool, which allows you to enter working information into the htcdev site, you will not get the error code when trying to your identifier token.
What is being offered is for Sonic2756 to use a HTC developer tool called a javacard to get S-Off for the Verizon HTC One and a number of other HTC devices.
I personally think this is a great deal, less then $50 after all the shipping/insurance expenses get added in, for someone to use an official htc method to get s-off. Even though the chances are good that someone will find an exploit to achieve s-off, the chances are also good that an exploit like that will take a while to develop and those exploits could run the risk of breaking your phone and giving you a fancy paper weight. I believe using a HTC developer method of achieving S-Off to be the safest way to go, provided you dont cut corners with packaging your phone and ship with insurance for it.
Chill out on the guy, he probably just got into Android and wanted to mod his phone. We don't want people thinking we're jerks and have them go back to the iPhone do we?
In his defense, there are like 8 different HTC One variants, it's horrendous. This is just the HTC One, without any letters after it. It's the M7 model from HTC. HTC6500LVW is the official model/SKU number from Verizon.
@armpit101 - Like everyone else already said, it's currently not unlockable unless you purchase an S-Off procedure from a member called Sonic on here. It's $30 but you also have to pay for shipping both ways. So likely around $60 total if you tack on insurance, which is highly recommended for a $650 phone.
The link for that is in the above post courtesy of Wozzie.

I just thought I would update this thread with current prices, Sonic has been reduced his price from $30 to $20, this does not include the addition charge of return shipping, which gets included in the transaction, the only thing that does not get charged in what you buy from his website is the cost of getting the phone to him.

Is $50 too much to pay for S-OFF? I don't think so. You can always go cheap and not pay for insurance. Cost $5.80 to ship with no insurance. He has a ship back option with no insurance.

The cost is this
it was $30 for the S-OFF
Sonic kindly lowered it $10 because he is a great guy.
so,
for $20 + $15 = $35
you Get
you phone S-OFF and sent back to you with $600 of insurance.
the other fee comes from how you decide to ship, I suggest the same way Sonic is sending it
it costs about $8.55 for $600 worth of insurance with USPS you'll end up most likely paying around $14-$16.
IMO for insurance shipped both way for $50 it's 100% worth it, I just need to find the time to send it out, keep saying I am but something keeps coming up.
work, life. bahh, but
from my estimations he should still have about 100 credits left at least (I hope)
and I am already htc dev unlocked so I don't feel the need to get S-OFF before those without root, also.

you get taken care of?
First of all, I just recently switched from IOS to Android so I don't know a lot of the correct terminology or parts of rooting yet. But, as I've searched around it seems there is no way to root the Verizon model of the htc one m9. All I want to do is be able to root my phone and get cyanogen mod 12. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
As of this moment, the only way is thru the use of a Java Card. There's a thread in this forum devoted to that, where you can get with one of the members that has a card and ship your phone to them for the procedure. Other than that, just waiting for beaups and jcase to get their method safe and available for public release. There's also a discussion on that.
Thank you so much for responding so quickly! I think I will just wait for the devs to release something. But, what would they be releasing and how can I keep an eye out for it?

You can also make an attempt at finding someone close to you who would be willing to meet, the procedure is quick and painless from what I hear and it will unlock your phone, it is called "S-Off" in the HTC world and allows you to unlock your bootloader to make the possibilities endless, giving the ability to flash custom ROM's and custom kernels. It is most definitely worth it.. Here is the thread for Java card
OK thanks! Maybe I can find someone on Craigslist to do this.
Please don't look on Craigslist. If you need root that bad, I know someone that can s-off your device with a Java card. Shipping costs both ways will be your responsibility though.

Not every but alot of them unfortunately.
I have never had a bad thing happen to me through Craigslist. Actually quite the opposite. I got deals I couldn't find anywhere else and I met people that were absolutely awesome! Actually the roommates I live with, I found through Craigslist and the job I currently have is because of Craigslist.
Of course 99% of the time you'll be fine but that other 1% will land you in a body bag. There have been a couple Craigslist transactions turned homicides on California in the past few years. If and when I do buy or sell something on Craigslist, I always meet in a very busy public place and bring someone with me. Can't be too careful these days sad to say.

Simple root on this phone won't really be of much use to the regular user with the way write protection is on this device. The real deal will only arrive when s-off and unlocked bootloader happens.

I could have sworn I read that the Sunshine would work on the Verizon M9, but since there is no root, it doesn't get past the initial part of the Sunshine process... I very likely am mistaken though since all other variants were unlockable on HTCdev.
