++++++++++++++++++++RUU UPDATE+++++++++++++++++++++
I have downloaded RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M
it detects the phone, says that my image version is 3.13.0.0. and that it will be updated to
3.13.405.1, starts updating and stops some time after with error 155
I have also downloaded correct p98img.zip for my radio, it flashes ok from recovery when i put it on sdcard.
Does anyone know why did the device lock itself ? why I can not unlock it again ?
Some say that these error messages in clockwork mod are because of faulty emmc chip.
Is there some hope for this phone ? Can I restore it to stock rom, just as it was....
Please help

same problem here

Relock the bootloader and use AAHK to root, S-OFF & SuperCID (SIM Unlock)
Sent from another dimension...
thanks don't hurt ya know?

But my bootloader is already relocked ? it says s ON

S-on means else. You can detect whether your bootloader is unlocked or relocked on the top of your boot menu. But I guess AAHK won't solve your problem, because if you have the same problem as me, your phone doesn't boot up, so you can't use AAHK.

You are getting better bub
Problem with htc dev method, you need to flash the boot img instead of the way we explain the flashing process in the threads.
What guy said is right. Relock the bootloader. Im not sure if you have to flash a ruu and then use the hack kit to get s-off or just use the hack kit.
Search the forum. This issue has been covered plenty of times.

Ah, now I get it, my bootloader is unlocked because thats what it says on top of the recovery screen :

ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
So i have to find out how to relock the bootloader.
Where to find boot img ? I have downloaded the p98img.zip but it only has the radio.img
If anyone has some directions please help... Meanwhile ill search the forums

Open the ROM zip file, in there is boot.img; use that

I have tried flashing the ruu for my region , but it doesnt work

I did use the wwe ruu , I mentioned that on my first post.
I used one for my radio :
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.6 0.29_26.14.04.28_M
It says that my image version is 3.13.0.0. and that it will be updated to
3.13.405.1, starts updating and stops some time after with error 155.

Guys, stop. Give me two minutes.

Take a break, don't start trying things without being sure what you are doing.
Ok, so you relocked the bootloader.
Im not sure what the next step is, if you have to flash a ruu or not. Do a search, check what the next step is. Come back and report.
I can't remember if you have to flash a ruu or not or if there was anything else involved before running the hack kit. Im going to try and find something after I've had some coffee. In the meantime search and report back.
Sent from a dream.

I will allso search the forums.
I have not relocked the bootloader, I am currently on my job and I can not do anything till I come home...

Up to this moment, I have figured out that I have to pull out the rom.zip from ruu , and rename it to p98... and put it in the phone.
but how to lock the bootloader ....im still reading about it...

'To relock, just boot to hboot and choose fastboot.
Plug the phone and You should see fastboot USB in red.
Open a CMD as admin or terminal as root in the PC
Type: fastboot oem lock'
great here is info how to do it via adb command, after that I will get the rom.zip from temp folder of the ruu which i used and try with that....

Yup, sounds like you are heading in the right direction.
Sent from a dream.

I will try that tomorrow.
Only thing I can not figure out is, when I tried to update it via ruu from windows, it gave me error 155, why would this method via recovery work ?
I hope it will ) but i'm a bit worried about it ...

Having a problem with my DHD after unlocking the bootloader through HTCDEV and then running the Advanced ACE Hack Kit.
It appears to be flashing roms but when rebooting it's just freezing at the HTC screen.
Now, I know it must be something I've done/I'm doing but I have no idea what so can someone please talk me through flashing the easiest rom in the easiest way?
Can you access to the bootloader(Turn off the device then press and hold vol down and power together until booted)?

Yep. I can get into the bootloader so i've been going into recovery (which is now ClockworkMod 5.0.2.7) and trying to flash different roms from there but none are working so it must be something I'm doing

Nope. I've tried 4 different roms and they all seem to work but when it reboots I just get the HTC at startup but it hangs there
You are not bricked if you can access bootloader.
You have to flash the Roms boot.img separate when you flash roms with unlocked bootloader, I would recommend to run the ruu from your computer when in fastboot mode, then relock the bootloader using HTCdev and rerun the advanced ace hack kit.

I know I'm gonna look like a complete spaz here but can you tell me how to do it? I flashed my Magic and it was so easy compared to this :-S
Where do I put the rom? Do I need to unzip it first? Amd what commands do I use in fastboot?
Which of it? flash Rom or get real S-OFF?

Dont unzip it copy to sdcard root.check android development stickies you got your answers and tools there you need to wipe everything then flash over and flash 4ext recovery wipe boot.imp then flash a rom

Gixermouse, you commited a mistake covered in the effen manual...you tried running the kit with an unlocked bootloader. You need to relock it first and then re run the Kit.
Do the following:
1) Boot in hboot and then choose fastboot.
2) Plug the phone (until you see fastboot usb)
3) Open a cmd as Admin in the PC or Terminal as root (in linux or mac)
4) Type: fastboot oem lock
then you should see OKAY. finished...then reboot the phone and from the htc screen run the Hack Kit again...
It will work unless you did a factory reset....if you need help just let me know...:good:

umm...it seems that u have done a factory reset. I guess the best u can do is to flash a ruu, go back to stock and then when working re run the Hack Kit to gain S-OFF and root.

fastboot getvar all....paste here the INFOcidnum

since ur are saying that it says no device found then u have no other option but to flash the p98img.zip through fastboot but make sure not to flash a dhd shipped with gingerbread with a froyo ruu.Peace
What country and carrier is your phone from? The AAHK has am option to download RUUs. Try to use that. If that doesn't workout, I'll try to find an RUU for you (depending on your country and carrier).

The phone is a replacement board fitted by HTC under waranty after mine died (through no fault of my own that time!)
It wasn't network locked and was running 2.3.5 when I recieved it.
By booting in recovery and mounting the system data and cache I was able to make it appear to flash a rom and when I did a backup the files were on there but it still wouldn't boot.
If there's anything else you need let me know because the LG-A100 I've borrowed is now driving me crazy and I'm getting a bit desperate

OK...STOP TRYING THINGS!! you might mess the device. I will send u a RUU in a PM that you will have to flash over fastboot....if you need help just let me know that way and we will work the way out.

:S Phone cannot boot :/

My friend has just unlocked his bootloader using HTC Dev, this has left it S-ON, so he installed cwm, made a nandroid, then began flashing rom's, he flashed the boot.img separate via fastboot due to the s-on, yet aosp rom's just get stuck on the boot animation, and any sense rom, (including the backup) just boot straight to recovery :/ He's asked me for help but I'm at a loss to explain this :S
we have tried reflashing an RUU but it just complained about it being the wrong version even though there is no other version it could be
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Relock the bootloader, then root using the ace advanced kit. You will may find a link to it in xda or if you search for glevitan. The hack kit was removed from xda.

We cannot get the phone to boot into a rom, therefore the hack kit is useless, it requires the phone to boot, and we've relocked and everything, it just refuses to boot any roms (yes we have been flashing the boot.img's via fastboot

From what I've gathered, he's in a bootloop, unlocked with HTCDEV and has tried to flash the backed up boot.img via fastboot.
In this specific situation how is the hack kit any use to him if he can't get past the splash screen?
Perhaps double check the locations and files you're pushing/flashing and "fastboot erase cache" before and after.
I'm sure you've probably tried this already but it's the only other things I can think of causing the loop.

Ok, in order to flash a RUU you will have to relock your bootloader. The main version error is due to the unlocked bootloader.
If you still have CWM, before relocking the bootloader u can try to flash a custom rom and then flash the boot.img in fastboot (but doing a wipe first) If that is not working, then you gotta flash a RUU but wil only work if you relock the bootloader....:good:

[Q]DHD crashed after AAHK2 use

Help needed....
I wanted to root my DHD with AAHK2.
The first step (downgrading from 2.3.5 to 2.3.3) was a success but the second was a failure...
Now my DHD is stucked with the green HTC logo on white background.
It was a "never pimped french phone" (SFR).
I spent 3 weeks trying to solve the problem by reading post, but nothing. Always errors.

Hi,
It happend during the second step, after downgrading.....
I succeeded to set the DHD to Android 2.3.3 but during the root attempt, it went bad.
The trouble is, it was 3 weeks ago and I spent so many hours trying to fix the problem that I don't remember what
the errors were.... I tried a factory recovery after that, but it did not work....
First time for me to root a phone and the last one I think.....
I've never used AAHK2, I'm only familiar with the tools that make it up. So without more information I can't help you. Honestly, I doubt many can help...it's tough without knowing exactly what went wrong. Maybe in the AAHK2 thread itself?

I will continue to try to find the solution.
First, I want to fix the problem of green HTC logo when start.
Many thanks indeed.
I have a feeling there is a obvious fix. You sure can access boot loader by pressing vol- and power, can't you? Try entering recovery from there. Heck, you could simply start the whole aahk process from fastboot

Hi.
You are right, I can access to the recovery mod by pressing vol- and power first.
But first error msg : E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command.
I try again with AAHK2 and I give you the error msg ASAP.
THX
When I launch the whole process : device not connected...
I tried again to launch the AAHK2 fasboot.cmd and here is what I get : (I try to post the picture....)

[Q] Pls help - HTC One X stuck on quietly brilliant screen and won't restore

Hi Friends,
First things first - I have looked up and tried several things that other folks facing similar issues have tried. None of it has worked for me.
Coming to the problem now.
It all began when I decided to unroot and install a custom ROM on my stock HTC One X and downloaded a stable build from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_endeavoru.
I followed the tutorials and unlocked my device and started off with CWM recovery 5.8.2.7. Did some experiemenation with backup and recovery. So far, so good.
I decided to use the 4.4 ROM and as per some information available it needed me to update to CWM 6.0.4.8. I did so but when I tried to go in recovery, the screen went blank. Tried it multiple times without luck.
Then I switched over to TWRP 2.7.1 and used it to install the cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-endeavoru.zip. It failed with status 7. Assert checks on bootloader ver failed (as per checks it would need anything 1.28 or higher). I am on hboot 1.12. I extracted the boot.img from the rom zip and flashed it from fastboot. It showed no change in hboot version (maybe this is where I faulted). It still won't install rom zip as I would expect.
Now the phone won't go beyond "Quietly Brilliant" screen on power on. Recovery to saved backup says its successful but it still gets stuck at same screen on reboot.
Would appreciate help and pointers from anyone who could help.
Thanks in advance,
Kunal

Hi Thant,
Thanks for your tip. I will give this a try (though I will be able to try it out someone later this week only and provide update how it went).
Having said that, I have one question though - the link to RUU you specified looks like for unlocked HTC Europe version. I'm from India and I found that there might be one with same radio for India here.
Not doubting your advice, but just want to know what is the basis for knowing what RUU one must use ?
Also, can I choose the one for India (RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_India_3.14.720.24_Radio_5.1204.162.29) ?
thanks,

yes if you want, most of the people like European version not Asian. It is your choice you are S-OFF and you can flash what you want on your phone. And the radio is the same

Hi Thant,
I did try the RUU you told me to use but update failed with error 159.
There are some RUUs for Indian models at http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Endeavor and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189048 but none for JB.
I have provided the getvar dump earlier but can't seem to find what I need to use (sorry for being a noob here). Please suggest what I can do more.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi Thant,
I have not yet tried tried the ICS RUU you suggested. But before I go ahead, here's some more info.
The Android version, HTC Sense version both say "Protected"
Software number is "Unknown"
HTC SDK API level is 4.23
Kernel is 2.6.39.4-g7ecc196
Baseband version is 2.1204.135.20
Build no. is 0.1.0.0 (20130509 EndeavorU_Generic_WWE#178434)
Boot loader says -
ENDEAVORU XE ENG S-OFF RH
CID-11111111
HBOOT- 1.12.2000 (PJ461****)
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-2.1204.135.20
Now, should I go ahead with the ICS RUU ?
How do I know what Android version I'm on ? Why would it say protected ? Any command I can fire from fastboot/adb ?
[getvar says (bootloader) version-main: 0.0.0.178434]
Thanks for all your time & help,

Hi Thant,
Before trying what you suggested (for manual update) I tried the ICS RUU once again. It went through fine this time not sure why, then I did an OTA upgrade and now I'm on Android 4.0.4 hboot 1.12 (same as before but on 2.17.720.2). There are no more OTA updates available, though HTC india website says there is one available for 3.14.720.24 which is JB version and should automatically update my hboot which I can then hopefully use to update to 4.4 ROM. Do you think what I think is going to work ?
But I can't find the OTA firmware for 3.14.720.24. There was one available here but no more.
There's one here but not sure about the authenticity of this.
I have downloaded the firmware zip you shared but it seems the file is corrupt.
Thanks,
Kunal

Your device is a Sprint .. you shouldn't convert it to any Intl GSM/GPE. You shouldn't change its MID.
Not sure whether this is still fixable because on Verizon I know, this conversion will kill the radio.
Change back your MID to 0P6B70000
and get the correct firmware and RUU here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
Anything you're not sure, ask in that thread or in Sprint Q&A
Hold Power + Volume Up for at-least 20secs and when screen turns black, release the buttons and hold Volume Down until you enter bootloader... which is mainly couple of seconds.

The OP is already in bootloader, and stuck there.
CID Numbers (Sprint only):
SPCS_001: standard Sprint M8
SPCS_004: Harman/Kardon version M8

In addition to your comment, that hboot does not need to be updated before RUU (RUU will do it):
1) Need to change MID back to Sprint MID to RUU
2) Shouldn't need to change CID, but it doesn't hurt to do so.
3) No need to relock bootloader to RUU, since OP is s-off.
But I agree, the OP should try to RUU back to Sprint stock image. (and obviously take the actions to meet the requirements to do so). After that, if is still doesn't work its probably a radio brick.

Error 155 is usually fixed by relocking Bootloader. Since the phone is in a funny state I would advise putting all chances on your side. Dont worry if the logic says S-off doesnt need BL relocked , you just need every chance to flash Stock ruu back to the phone
Thanks, i will try it...
So, if it's work i can unlock the phone to use another operator ?

Your device is a Sprint .. you shouldn't convert it to any Intl GSM/GPE. You shouldn't change its MID.
Not sure whether this is still fixable because on Verizon I know, this conversion will kill the radio.
Change back your MID to 0P6B70000
and get the correct firmware and RUU here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
Anything you're not sure, ask in that thread or in Sprint Q&A

Boot Loader Loop, Unlocked, S-Off, Rooted HTC M8 Tmobile
A year ago I believe I used HBoot and or Firewater to root my M8. I recently removed some applications that seemed to make my phone act funny, and now the phone is stuck in a boot loop, or rather just a boot and stop at the second HTC "One" screen. Not exactly a loop.
I've download ADB tool and tried the fastboot method to install TWRP but have no success because the computer does not recognize the phone while running ADB or Fastboot, therefore I cant install TWRP and am stuck in the bootloader menu. I have tried various different cables and restarted the pc several times, and installed htc sync and other drivers necessary for that process. Also uninstalled and installed different drivers later as well. Now im not sure what i have installed but I have access to the phones internal drive via explorer.
Using Hboot.

HBOOT (when scanning says that all images are not found)
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
CHECK SMART SD
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE
Recovery leads to nothing and eventually returns to the HTC One menu stop.
Reset does nothing, acts like fast boot actually.
Ramdump under fastboot seems to works, and does produce log files.
While the phone was still active, I managed to create a full "manual" backup of the device by plugging it in and backing up/copying the entire internal memory. After screwing with the phone and every option for several hours I managed to access the files of the internal memory by switching to recovery mode via the boot menu and then plugging in the phone via usb to comp while deleting the drivers at the same time. I tried a full restoration of the internal backup i made, by copy and replace if the same method, but still nothing.
Ive attached an image of the Hboot menu with the details and options of that Hboot for those of you familiar with hboot.
The ideal situation, or what i'd like to do is restore the phone without flashing the rom and loosing the information, then id like to upgrade to lollipop or a new custom rom I found here actually, but the first step is getting back into the phone which i would be very grateful for in general.
also, not great with cmd and all that stuff, I do have sdk tools downloaded and installed but not great with that either. If there was a more simple way to replace existing files in the phone via the file manager (because im able to access the internal drive via the file manager, that would be the most ideal and easiest situation. But knowing the path and the boot files and which files are necessary for boot is what im looking for as well.
Also i know how to flash a sd and htc has a sdcard slot as well. Also i should mention that prior to the phone being screwed up I did want to delete some internal certificates because i believe someone installed a spy application on the phone, hence the reason for all of this checkup and removal anyway. In the process of trying to do that, i followed a tutorial on this forum which suggested I create a security lock pin, which I did. This could also be the cause of the problem not being recognized by the adb or fastboot script.
Who ever helps me do that gets a tip.
Please help.

**** I just realized it would be more appropriate to create a new thread for my problem rather than intruding on this mans problem, please see the One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting. And respond there*****
