I have been experiencing crashes with Skype for about a month as I remember. First it doesn't log in automatically as it used to and when I log in manually it crashes after sometime, I do this process on and on and it crashes. I have the latest update of Skype and using the stock rom.
Is it something that can be improved?
Does anyone else have the same problem?

What version of android are you running?
You can try to reinstall skype. Hold the home button
press task manager, then you go to app or something,
and search for the skype apk and uninstall it.
Then download skype again from the google store.
If you have android 2.2 try updating to 2.3 using odin.
Good luck

I am currently using ARHD 6.1.2 but also had this problem with 6.1.1
When I install google+ (the new leaked version)
(I haven't tried the old/current version)
Its causes some Force closes,
mainly with my people process (contacts)
So i can not access my contact, not even when im composing an sms or via any other way!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and has anyone got a solution?
Thanks for any replies!

Yes, there's been quite a bit of discussion about this in the main thread. I haven't tried it myself, but the new G+ app is causing FC for a lot of (all?) users. It may well be a problem with the underlying HTC base software. Only "solution" I've seen is to uninstall it, sorry.
I'd suggest we all wait for Google to release v2.0 officially, that way we would avoid a lot of issues
I get Force Close on superuser, anywhere from 2-10 times a day...whether the phone is judt on main screen with no apps open, but use any rooted apps like system app remover, rom manager etc etc....force close all the time.
pull out battery, go into recovery, fix permissions...sorts it for an hour or so, then starts all over again....aRGHHH!!!

Do you have the Market version of Superuser installed? If you do, check to see if it has updated to 3.0.5, and if so uninstall the upgrade. There's more about this in the main ARHD thread.
Hi,
I just updated to Jelly Bean 4.2, everything is running fine but my WhatsApp.
It keeps on "Initializing" forever. If i wait til it's over, a message will appear:
Failure
Sorry, WhatsApp was unable to complete initialization. Please check that you are connected to the internet and try again.
Please reboot your phone if your connection problem persists
I've uninstalled, reinstalled via google play or downloading the apk from their website/clear data/force close, tried with wifi, 3g and can't get anything different.
I keep receiving messages/notifications but i can't get into the app.
Anyone going through the same issue?
*(i'm all stock, rooted and unlocked. Viber is working fin, but i don't think all this will make any difference)
Whatsapp had in the recent time a lot of problems. Wait some time and try again. You did everything that I would told you to do(like wipe app data, reinstall etc.)
Myn is also not working same problem

thanks for the reply, guys
It's working now after several tries...
I don't know if there's something to do with it, but while my whatsapp was on "initalizing", a received a phone call. When i hang up shortly after, WhatsApp was already at the contacts screen.
Edit:
Installing and downloading the whatsapp.apk directly from whatsapp homepage seems to work.
Same, stuck for over 10 hours.
Fresh 4.2 Install.
Tried everything, most definite its whatsapp server problem.
There is a work around where you install an older version, try to sync and then update.
But you cant see the contacts.
same here... is getting stuck on initializing.... I was able to sync the contacts but I'm not able to enter to the app.... I'm waiting for an update....
server issue
It's a server problem because m facing this issue on iPhone aswell.
It's working well now

Thanks ! Worked for me too : I downloaded v2.8.7268 from Whatsapp website and initialization worked. I then updated from play store.
i was having problem with cm7.1.5 so installed cm7.2...
on 1st start of whatsaap it gave me msg about having custom rom can create problem as it does not support whats app..
then also i proceeded n i was facing same problem.it was stuck on initializing.
then after lots of different tries it worked on one trick...
what i did was :
1.1st backup all my contacts(mobile).
2.then cleared data in contact storage in manage apps.
3.installed whatsapp 2.8 which was backup earlier
4.clicked "Agree and continue" then entered my mobile no. but,it told me that whatsapp new version must be installed.
5.i then upgraded whats app from play store.
6.After installation was complete i opened it and it was started from same step of application of entering mobile no.
7. i entered no. , restored data from old backup of whatssapp, all messages were restored.
now my Display Picture , Name got appeared.
8.clicked next, shortcut of whatsapp was created. in 1 sec it got initialized, n continue button got appeared.
9. now i was having messages but no contacts(whatsapp).
10. now i restored contacts(mobile) from softwere i was using. and now after opening whatsapp m having contacts.
It worked on my phone... try it... best of luck...

Hi Mi A1 Device Holders,
I was curious of Google Floating Dialler on my device running Android O. So tried a modded APK from one of the threads. However I couldn't install the mod on to my device when it was in Beta stage. After several attempts.
Now Google have released a new version v17 in which the floating bubble dialer is enabled by default. You may refer to the below link.
https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-google-dialer-floating-bubble-2/.
So I wanted to try it again and went to Playstore and it doesn't allow me to download. Tried downloading and installing from Apkmirror. However I couldn't install it.
But I managed to install it with a small tweak.
Here is the Guide:
1. Hold the Phone app Icon and Click App Info
2. Scroll down to Option Phone App. If it is showing YES, you will not be able to install the new app. So you need to change it NO.
Note: You will not be able to do it without another Dialler app installed on your phone. For this, I installed TrueCaller App and then changed it. You may try with other dialer apps.
3. Install the latest app downloaded from ApkMirror or the one attached below.
4. Again, hold the Phone app Icon and Click App Info and shift the Phone App from True Caller(in my case) to Phone app.
5. You are done.
Enjoy :good:
Hit a thanks if you like it
P.S:
I was using v16 which got automatically updated from Playstore from the previous version. On top of that I installed the V17. My device is not rooted and using stock os...and I find absolutely no issues or lag or whatsoever
well in my case i just installed it and it worked voilaa.... Thanks for link
Thanks for the APK. I was able to install but now I can't search for contacts using T9 dialer. I now need to manually tap the search bar on the top and type in the letters.
Even manually searching is really slow and delayed.
Any fix for this?
Edit: The problem goes away if I roll back to the default Phone app, but comes back once I reinstall the above Apk.
What's going on here?

It's working fine with me.. I find no such issues. You may try clearing the cache/data of the app. See if it helps.

I tried that but it didn't help. Any other ideas?
I figured out the issue! For some reason Google Phone v17 did not work well with Contacts v2.4.
T9 dialling was very slow to search the contacts (10-15 seconds).
I tried everything from reviewing permissions, clearing cache, removing accounts etc. But nothing worked.
Finally I decided to manually check apkmirror and update the Contacts app to v2.5 and presto! Reduced lag when using T9 dialling!!
There is still an ever so slight lag compared to when I roll back to the v13 Google Phone, but it's much more usable now. Hope this helps!

i tried this on my redmi note 4, but when i make a call, history is not logged in new phone app, only in the old one. any suggestions? i hate these gapps [emoji14]

Have you tried setting the new phone app as the default and disabled the old one?
I was using v16 on January stable build and all was fine then i downloaded apk of v17 from apk mirror and it was also working fine aftert that i changed my rom to new February beta and now after installing v17 when i open phone app a popup appears everytime with a message that this app is not compatible and calls may not work correctly. Even though app was working fine but that popup was irritating me so i modded my phones build prop to pixel xl 2 and now Phone app is compatible with my Mi A1 and i can see it in play store aswell ??????
I was using v16 which got automatically updated from Playstore from the previous version. On top of that I installed the V17 and I find absolutely no issues or lag without build prop changes. Moreover, my device is not rooted for your info...
Hi.
I have gt-i8190n version, with latest stock rom 4.1.2 with root.
There is a problem i would like to have your help. It concerns with youtube app, after it updates to latest version for android 4.1.2 it opens and start working ok. but when i close the app and later on open again, it shows me a message saind that there it a newer version for youtube app, and to update. When i try to update, clicking the button, it opens google play store, but no updates are avaiable.
The only way i can work around is going to settings, clear app data, and it works again normally like the first time. But after the 1st use (closing and opening app), it cames back the message to update again.
Is there any way to overcome this permantly (not updating android, stock rom works very nice for daily use, comparing to alternate roms like lineaageos (tried CM 13.0 - android 6.0.1 during one or 2 months it has several random reboots and lagging... and no NFC).
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Same problem here on Galaxy Core GT-I8262 but after several reinstalls,YouTube shows network error, but when I open up the browser, I can surf the Internet.
