How To Setup A Wiimote On A Galaxy S3 - Galaxy S III Accessories

heya,
here's how to setup a wiimote and classic controller on GSIII the easy way, no root:
http://www.yannickstechblog.com/2012/08/how-to-setup-wiimote-on-galaxy-s3.html

Thanks for using my app! :good:
I should mention though, use only original wiimote and especially the classic controller. Also, some of the newest "with motion plus inside" wiimotes don't seem to work right. In any case, I suggest a try before you buy tactics!

you're welcome and well, thank you for developing it

i've got the wii remote to work on gameboid. but can't seem to get it working on n64oid

if it doesn't work using it in "bluetooth gamepads", try "key mappings" to assign hardware buttons. this should work!

Using Wii Remote to play emulators?

I've read about using a Wii remote to play games on the phone, but I'm not able to find a working app for the G2. Has anyone found one that works on an emulator? If so, what emulator are you using and what wiimote app did you find?
I use Rwiimote I think its called, from market, works great. I'm using VISIONary and snes emulator. Played mario for almost an hour the other day using this

Greetings from another SLC resident.
I had too much invested in my 8bit NES games to get a SNES system, so the only Nintendo games I'm even familiar with are the old ones. (I'm old. lol) Will those play on an SNES emulator? If so, then I'll give that a shot. Now if I could only find a NDS emulator I'd be all set!
Awesome don't see many people close on big forums like this lol. I see there's NESoid in the market. Lite and full. Full let's you save/load save states. Id reccomend that since its on phone. I always play mario or something whiile waiting then gotta quickkly pack up and go so that's nice.
Agreed on the NDS emulator lol. Best one I've seen is playstation, I bet the g2 could handle that but seems a bit much to me lol

the psx emulator works awesome on the g2. no lag. though i heard people having alot of problems with the wiimote app.
I haven't had trouble yet  to me it seems the psx has too many controller buttons to map to a phone is my hesitation
I haven't looked into this at all yet but is there any way to bluetooth a PS3 controller to a G2 to use with PSX emulator?
I use this: http://www.appbrain.com/app/wiimote-controller/com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid

I use this too.
It works really nicely with psx4droid if you have a wii classic controller.
On NES though, you can just use the wiimote and map it within NESoid's settings.
i use the wiiclassic controller and i use wii controller ide or something like that. never had any problems with the program.

I dont see any problems with ps games, once you overclock that is.
Goodluck, and let me know if you figure out a way to get the ps3 controller working lol... i really hope someone is working on this for Android....
I need some help. I'm using SNesoid Lite and Wiimote. I get the wii controller
to work and i set the buttons in SNesoid, but when i start the game the wii
controller doesn't work Anyone have any ideas why. my phone is still stock
I waiting to root when CM 6 comes out. thanks for any help.
There is a option in snesoid to enable rem remote controls. It's in other settings, use input method.

[Q] Gamepads Compatible With Vibrant

Hey everyone-
I've been looking around lately for a possible solution to my gaming woes on the Vibrant recently, namely the fact that the onscreen controls normally suck in any emulator. Because of that I've been looking for a gamepad, or game controller of some sort, that's compatible with the Vibrant via bluetooth or some other physical means. Beyond the wii remote (which I don't think works on the galaxy s line anyway), is there any solution that's built for android phones that'll work on the vibrant? I've already checked out the game gripper, but that's for keyboard phones. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears, thanks in advance.

Well, i have been using a Wiimote plus a nunchuk, and it works pretty good...i have been playing The Legend Of Zelda OOT with N64oid, and besides some fails here and there (that are not the fault of the WiiMote but the emulator itself), it works flawlessly, i like it a lot.
the zeemote works http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?skuno=86194#grey
i know it says combatible only with blackberrry but this youtube video shows how to install on galaxys--->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJO-M433hXQ&feature=related

I didn't realize that the wii remote worked on the vibrant, I checked in the market today and it said in the description that it wasn't compatible with the galaxy s series of phones because of a custom bluetooth stack issue or something. Although, if your running a custom rom maybe its not a problem. Either way I'll give it a try, thnx.

Hey man thanx for the link, I already found that, but actually I believe I found an even more elegant solution here: http://phonejoy.weebly.com/buy.html. It's a custom psx controller called the phonejoy that's modded to work on android devices, direct from China lol. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Both pro and non pro work, you can see videos of them working on youtube.
And remember wiimote only works with bluetooth 2.1 (cm7) for now

You can buy a PS3 controller. They connect via bluetooth and work pretty well.
Well since the dead thread is already brought back, has anyone tried using a bluetooth pad along with tv out? I've seen a kang cm build that says it has working tv out and was wondering if anyone has tried it yet.
Edit: link to kang build, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461705
Interesting proposition. Do you have the necessary tools to try it? If so, I'd like to hear the result.

Onlive is... live : controller? Phonejoy?

Pretty exciting stuff. I gave it a shot and it seems to work well, but you really need a controller to go anywhere. Has anyone tried a phonejoy or similar with onlive? Or would you need to get the onlive branded one?
I actually just got my shipment notification from Phonejoy. I'm very interested in seeing if this will work. I'm crossing my fingers since phonejoy states the app must allow keyboard input for their controller to work. Onlive certainly allows for keyboard input. I'll report back once I get my controller.
PhoneJoy partially works
SO far I have managed to get the direction keys to work, but not the regular buttons. I will let you know when or if they are working.
Can we use the sixaxis program and use our wireless ps3 controllers for this?
I'm wondering, has there been any developement? I would LOVE to get my Phonejoy working on OnLive, it would make it simply perfect.

i just emailed onlive.
ofcourse, they want us to buy a universal onlive controller, otherwise they are unwilling to help.
heres a thought, figure out what keys do what on a bluetooth keyboard paired with the phone and then set up phonejoy to use these keys as buttons.

Games with PS3 control support

So tonight I spent a little time trying to get my PS3 control hooked up to my Galaxy Note 2, for anyone that doesnt know the note 2 and galaxy s3 can support ps3 controls over bluetooth stock which is awesome no aosp needed. Took me a while because the sixaxis app for my computer wouldnt play nice with windows 8 had to use motioninjoy. I have gotten it to play nice with every emulator so far SNES and N64 but I am looking for some games that can use the control as well I've purchased grand theft auto 3 and hoping to see if we can have a thread with games we try that are fun to play with a control. Also if anyone needs some help setting up the ps3 control to there note I would be glad to help root is required.

Just got my controller today, and am in the middle of setting up the buttons for N64 emulator. I am having trouble with setting up the left analog stick to act as steering in Mariokart 64. It seems that when in the game, I can see that when I press the joystick left, the joystick on screen goes left, but seemingly not far enough to activate the steering (same with right)? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks~

Interesting enough when I set mine up that worked by default man I can play Mario kart with no issues I just mapped the actual buttons. Try this tho I did this for the snes emulator set up the directional pad instead and then my analog worked on its own.

I had the same good fortune for Snes emulator, but still having issues with the N64 emulator. I attached a pic of what I jst tried after reading your post, but still no luck. Last night I had it set-up with the Anolog (L) right in the middle of the toggle on screen, but still couldn't get it to work. I mean it worked, but not enough to make it move on screen????. So tonight I just mapped the directional pad( pictured here), and the toggle/analog on the control doesn't work at all. So I'm at a loss with this one. Any setting I'm missing?
Thanks~

question regarding the n64 emulator... you say you are using a controller over bt with n64 games? which app do you use for this? and also which controller?
i play a lot of n64 on my device, but use the touch screen layout, it is playable, but if there is a better way, please share your secretz
gotta unlock those cheats brah. rofl
I have an six axis ps3 control and I used a app for the computer to program the bluetooth mac address. I didn't use a dual shock but imagine it would work the same I keep my dual shocks for use on my ps3 though. Your gonna need sixaxis controller from the market. Also I couldn't get the sixaxis controller app for my computer to work for the life of me but I believe it's a windows 8 problem. So I download ds3 control it works without issues on windows eight and has more features. I understand you don't need all this if you use a wii control but I don't have one.

For what it's worth,
I finally got mine to work with the N64 emulator. It was one of two things:
Simply rebooting after installing Sixaxis
Pinch to Zoom to widen the radius of the Analog button( this was probably the fix)
Supergnes+legend of zelda a link to the past=pure win with the ps3 controller.
You just have to go into settings, select controller 1. Then you just press the button you want to correspond with the button used for the game. Very easy.

For a great n64 emulator, go to paulscode.com and get the latest beta emulator, im using it and its amazing with the sixaxis app and ps3 controller. U can map the c buttons of the n64 controller to the right joy stick of the ps3 controller.
As for the sixaxis app, if u have root axis, all you need to do is plug in the controller to your phone, and click pair phone, it updates the BT master code, so ur phone recognizes the controller. Then you click start in the sixaxis app and push the center button on the ps3 controller, it should recognize the controller, then you go into the controller settings, or your phones main settings and then input settings, find the sixaxis input, click on settings, and enable gamepad controller.
Just set up the key mappings in app and your good to go.
I purchased a Gameklip from their website, google it, it attaches the PS3 controller to a spare case, which you can buy from their website aswell, and it all functions great.

If you are rooted, try installing the stock 4.2 settings.apk and pairing from the bluetooth category there. That's what I had to do to get my bluetooth keyboard to pair.
Where is that 4.2 settings apk at?

Yes Retroarch version with mame 2014 rom and two firetv amazon original controller works well. I made a custom build and signed the apk with one click signer. here is the link. I've tested it with double dragon.. I couldn't get two players to work with the official mame4droid.
Works very smooth except when too much screen draw happens. I hope they made a quad core retroarch version. its so close. what game are you looking to play?

My old ones are sega master system with transbot and captain silver. with pico. works very well except the stick dose not work and have to use the arrow keys.
Retroarch doesnt seem to work on the Fire TV Stick. Creashes when loading anything or going into settings. Anyone care to confirm?
Which version?
The 1.0.0.2 version works fine, but the later builds still have botched control mapping and some cores refuse to work.
If you have root and know what you are doing, you can install the latest version of retroarch and copy the cores and get back 1.0.0.2 to paste them into it for access to things like Yabause.
