Hey guys my Bluetooth has never worked even before rooting or changing the roms. Any ideas as to what I can do to find what the issue may be. Do I need to do a dump or anything that may help. Thank you

What exactly is the problem besides "It's not working"
When you enable bluetooth in the ROM is it enabling?
Is it seeing the bluetooth device in the scan?
Is the bluetooth device itself not pairing?
What ROM/Kernel..GB,ICS,etc?
I've tried a few roms. The Bluetooth never turns on. I turn it on and nothing ever happens. I'm running dark side kernel right now.

Mines the same way, sometimes rebooting the phone works if I do it while the bluetooth is trying to turn on.

As the title says, I am having issues getting connection. I have unpaired it, started completely over and still the only way I can Get it to play is physically going into Bluetooth and then click media to check mark. Sometimes have to do this 3-4 times before it clicks on.
I just started having these issues with it. Not sure if it is my deck or phone. It used to auto connect and play flawlessly for months. It still auto connects fine with phone calls, just the media portion is messing up.
Anyone else have any issues like this?
Deck is a Pioneer 9400HDBT.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same issue at times on my pioneer head unit...some ROMs work better then others ...running xperiaZ from jovy and I get connected pretty consitently . I have a feeling its the head unit more then the ROMs though...there's times where my phone says I'm paired but the head unit still flashing the Bluetooth icon. Think I have the 3400bh but I'm not in my car ATM to verify
Edit: 3400 ..phone connects fast for the most part but music tends to be iffy. Dont think its rom related at all.

I used to work at sprint and the s3 has blue tooth known issues. I assume it would be the same being the blue tooth hardware is essentially the same. I always told people to root their phones and load a custom stable rom and it fixes the problem of those few that did. Sorry I couldn't help much

Hello folks.
I'm running the latest AOKP (4.2.2) and I'm having Bluetooth connection problems with my car. It pairs OK, but when I try to make a call, Bluetooth shuts down on the S3. I know that there are generic problems with Bluetooth, but it seems that other people on the forum can connect.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Might just be a software issue. Try reflashing your rom and seeing if that helps. And if not, try flashing stock rom to see if it's a hardware issue or not.

The past week I have been away from WiFi and noticed that my phone will disconnect from the network and not reconnect. It seems to happen randomly. I am on the latest xenon HD for toro plus.
If I flash a different kernel would it help fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated

Look at kmsg/dmesg and logcat to try and see whats happening, forward those logs to your ROM dev. Try to give something back.
I don't have access to a computer to do a log cat. Why I'm asking because I can down load stuff from WiFi to fix it.

You are rooted... At least you can get kmsg.
At the very least, you need to work on the description of your issue - "I have been away from WiFi" doesn't tell me anything.
So, what are you having issues with? Mobile network stability?
Check your bootloader/radio, RIL/baseband combos (you should be on whatever latest bootloader version there is, RIL/baseband must match)
Does the kernel you use alter stock voltages? Make sure SR (smart reflex) is active and try again. If SR is already on, try to disable it, and work on the voltages yourself, although I'm not sure you will be able to troubleshoot all this with your current knowledge (estimated from the way you opened this thread). This is the only way kernel may be afecting anything here.
RIL/baseband are kernel independent.
It's not good principle if something's broken/not working already, to start flashing more stuff on top of it - look around you: does anyone on that ROM thread experiences the same issue recently, or is it just you?

I Can't find a thread about this, so I was go ogling and that doesn't really help. I am having major problems with my wifi it keeps dropping non stop and it's really annoying. I have my phone stock but rooted and was wondering is there any way to fix this? I know it's a Samsung problem but if I were to load this up with a rom should that help? Thanks in advance

Maybe it's your router or better yet the router settings. Have you tried changing any of those settings?
Am I missing something? How is it a Samsung thing? What kind of router do you have?

After looking all night I found a thread that fixed this. You have two choices really to fix or buy your router which I'm not going to do, or you can type in on your dial pad *#0011#. Then you click your menu button, click on the wifi option, and then disable the energy saver wifi mode. That made it so my phone wouldn't drop wifi connection anymore. NOTE: each time you restart your phone you need to turn the wifi energy saver off through the command *#0011#. Hope I helped some of you because this bug is truly annoying.

That stinks. I don't have any problem and I think this is only the 2nd time I've seen anything posted like this about the S4 (the S3 did have that issue and was common). I've never turned off any energy saver and mine stays connected 100% of the time. So you're saying either that or you have to buy a new router? What kind do you have now and what settings on it did you find out that cause this issue for you?
Right now I have whatever Verizon gives fios customers. It works perfectly for all my phones, tablets, and computer. Just not on my s4 unless I do the dial pad trick. I'll post a link on the xda thread when I get home on how to fix your router. It really does make me angry that I paid 600 for the phone and it does this. Hopefully Samsung fixes this soon since they acknowledge the problem

Btw here's Samsung acknowledging the problem.

Do you have a dlink router?
GS4
My gf has an S4 and has the same problem. We have a Netgear WNDR3500. So it's not isolated to a D-Link. She also did the dial pad trick and it seems to work for her as well. Need to find a script to run on boot to set the power save to OFF.

I'm starting this thread to start a conversation that hopefully leads to a solution. Since updating to 4.3, Bluetooth has been wonky. It worked perfectly at first, but now it won't transmit any data. From searching, I can tell I'm not the only one with the issues, but no one wants to help the people who have pleaded for help.
Now, I will clarify that I am using two devices that use the apt-x profile. I have a Plantronics bt headset that does use this and I have a little more luck connecting with that.
The info I've found in searching is erratic at best, but no clear solution is stated. So, if you know a fix, let me/everyone know here. You can also share about roms where Bluetooth connections have been working for AT LEAST a week since everyone's bt works at first.
At the very least, subscribe to the topic if you can so that you can come back and share any progress or tips you might stumble on. Thanks.

I've been using the S3Rx 3.0 rom for almost a week without any Bluetooth issues. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252932
I've noticed some volume variances when notifications come in, but nothing that would qualify as a malfunction.

Well, that rom had the same issues as the rest as of a few days ago.
Now trying the latest Intergalactic (4.1). May give Quantum a shot next.
I'll keep uploading this thread since it is getting plenty of views from folks who may be having the same issues or on the same search.

I am now certain there is either an app causing my issues (highly unlikely) or there is simply an issue with bluetooth on the 4.3 update (most likely). It has been a frustrating journey. I'm not sure what else to do at this point.
I am currently using my third Galaxy S3 (long story) and all have had the same issues with the 4.3 update. AT&T Next is looking more attractive these days.

Sounds like a bug in the Bluetooth stack. Did you do all the formats available? Sometimes past ROMs will mess with the WiFi and bluetooth stacks. I suggest a full format, including system and /data/data
