Hi,
There's this TV commercial during the Olympics for the Galaxy S III (the one with David Beckham), where you can see a bike mount:

Thanks!

That's nice! :good:

That's awesome! I'd be scared for it to unclip tho or something

Am going with a Trident Kraken case and the bike clip. While I'm sure the Samsung bike clip is nice (if it actually exists), the Trident video shows an iPhone surviving some light trail riding when connected to the handle bar of a dirt bike. That's a bunch more vibration than it'll see on either my road or mountain bike so I am pretty confident that the phone will stay on the mount.
If not then the Kraken case ought to keep it safe when it falls and hits the road/dirt....

The Kraken looks interesting indeed... It would probably be safer than the original Samsung one, especially when riding in the forest with my cross-country bike...

perfect bike mount
Ok so after seeing this and searching and searching i found the perfect bike mount (not the one pictured on first post). I did however find the one pictured and it was at a decent price but looked to generic and unsafe. It was secured by side arms and rubber bands. The holster i found actually clips the phone and is very well priced @ $6.99 on ebay. they wont let me post links so if you want do an ebay search for "Bike Bicycle Mount Holder Cradle Stand Kit for Samsung Galaxy S III 3 S3 SIII"
will post pics

pics
here are the pics, gonna test drive her tomorrow ill let ya'll know if she handles out on the trails

I have this one, and have tried it a few times. The mount is very cheap, but it's good. The phone feels pretty safe when mounted. So go for this one.

The PERFECT bike mount

25 bucks from Gomadic.com. It clamps to the handlebars nicely and is very secure. The holder holds the phone very very securely too i could barely pull it out of there if i really wanted to. Its very adjustable and swivels for horizontal and vertical placement.
Took it for a test ride today for about a half hour hit the highway and at 120 the thing was solid! Wasnt gonna budge. Got home and it was still solid and didnt loosen up or anything. Not bad for 25 bucks.
Also got a vent mount for my car so i can take the holder from bike to car by just snapping it on and off.
I'll post some pics of that tomorrow in "the perfect car mount" thread.

Thanks for pointing this out. After reading your post I put one of these on my Christmas wish list and I got one this past weekend Now I need to go get the arm for the windshield mount and I'll be all set no matter how I'm getting around
WTF DUDE YOU JACKED MY THREAD TITLE!!!!1!!

Exogear car mount

Have been using this mount for a little over a week and can say that it is awesome. The thing I like the most is the mount. It is sticky and mounts to almost any surface, even the rounded portion of my dash. It does get dirty and needs to have some water run over it every once in a while to clean it off. The part that holds the phone is hard to use one handed, but holds the phone really well. It opens up to hold any phone and mostgps units. I picked this up on amazon for just under 20 bucks.

I guess this is the mount?

For the price it wouldn't hurt to try it out. I should be getting it tomorrow.

That's the mount.
Sorry about the small pictures, I haven't quite mastered posting pics from my tab.

Does the mount show in any part of the camera\video view?
Just tried it. The mount does not show up on the screen when taking video or pics.

I got the mount on Saturday. I think it works pretty well for what it was worth. It definitely requires two hands to take in and out. It seems to hold pretty solid on the dash.
Sorry the pictures aren't that great. They were taken with my Thunderbolt.
just wanted to add I have this mount and have been using it with no problems. I also have a nook tablet that I put the suction cup on the back of and clip to the headrest to let my daughter watch movies for long trips. Its very versitile.
Just tossed one of these in favor of the Samsung mount. Much easier to work with.
Bad experience!

I bought this car mount 32 days ago & It's already broken!!
I used it in my car for a Galaxy S2 device with a sunlight protector (as was recommended on exogear's site).
For the record, I'v been known for my gentle treatment for all of my things, in particular, the technological one's.
The damage was a broken grip (the one that holds the cell-phone), just near the red rubber.
Be careful guys\ladies - waste of 30$.

Sturdy car mount for Galaxy S2, with Case mate tough and doesnt cover the camera

Hi Guys
I am really struggling to find what I am looking for and am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I have a Galaxy S2 that has an 2000mah extended battery installed and a Case Mate Tough case.
I am looking for a sturdy car mount that will allow me to leave the case on but also does not cover the camera lens.
Any suggestions?
(PS.. the reason I dont want to take the case off each time is that to get the extended battery to fit under the tough case you have to leave the phone back off or it doesnt fit.
No one had any suggestions at all?

Having used quite a few car mounts I found the Tetrax Xway by far the best. Takes absolutely no effort to put your phone onto the mount and you can also use it for any next phone / tablet that you buy. It's also extremely sturdy, yet easy to take out the phone.
Wanted to link to the product, but since I am a new user I cant.. Lots of stuff you can find on youtube though. Try the galaxy tab one if you really want to be convinced of its sturdyness
Only downside is that you have to stick something to the back of your phone(case). Hasn't really bothered me though, but some people are a little OCD on aesthetics.
Edit:
One thing I forgot to mention is that this mount is also very easy to remove and should fit in almost any car since it uses the car vents. Very easy to install + remove.
exomount here. had mine ages, no lack of grip, survives a car with 20year old suspenion (classic mini) driving over terrible pot holed roads (Wales...).
We even fitted it to my brother's Rallycross car for some in car footage.
There's a Garmin rubber Base that you could place upon the Car Tableau the good thing about it that the device won't shake and move a lot while driving

haven't used it, but looks interesting

For those looking for a bike mount.

You should really think about getting the Ram Mount.

I have been using this for about a week now and I am in love. The arm piece is just a little long bit it mounts perfectly to the bike and doesn't move.
I now have my phone mounted with my its protective gel case for my speakerphone listening pleasure while I ride.

I will attach a picture of the mount on the bike later.

Which model is this, and on what type of bike are you mounting it? I've been looking for a solid bike mount.
Here are a few more pictures to get a view of the bike and how it's mounted.

The bike is a hybrid mount road bike that I use for a 6 mile (each way 5 day a week commute). I use the phone as a speaker for music and GPS when needed. The mount has three types of prongs that re of different length depending on the size of your device. The mount is originally made for a motorcycle but the base is for a bicycle. I use the mount with my casemate case and it fits snuggley. I bought it from Amazon for $41.27, which I think is a steal considering that I could fit all types of device on believe it will last at least two to three years with regular use based on the strength of the material. You can easily take the mount and the arm off the bike so that it wont be easily stolen and you have to screw the based on to your bike.
If you do happen to buy one the instructions are not very clear, but the screws go through the bottom of the holder and the nuts though the top.
Well worth the money in my opinion. You can even buy other bases that will go in your car or on other bikes or other areas.
Very happy with this...

Nice vid mate. What case is that BTW ?
That dock is smooth looking. Might have to pick one of those up. Good video, thanks.
Here is the case I have: http://www.amazon.com/Kickstand-Hyb...86218&sr=8-46&keywords=samsung+galaxy+s3+case
I would not recommend it unless you are looking for the cheapest thing out there with the highest impact resistance. It is very difficult to remove, the outer gel doesnt line up exactly with the inner hard case. It reminded me of the otterbox cases for the 3gs Iphone, but it is made very cheaply. You can even find some for a penny plus shipping on amazon. People are trying to get rid of them. Not bad price if you are willing to pay a penny plus shipping
