any help plz
Full wipe:
Reboot in recovery
Format data/factoey reset
Wipe dalvik
Format all patitions except sd card.
If you did that, make sure the md5 checksum matches. You should find that where you downloaded the rom from.
If it doesnt, download again.
If it does, flash again. Remember to full wipe in either case.
If the md5 doesnt match, download rom to computer, transfer rom to sd card either by rebooting into recovery and mounting sd card to pc to transfer the file or whichever way you know and can do it.
First boot on average takes about five minutes. Shouldn't be more than ten.

Bootloader and recovery should be fine. You have done nothing that would affect them......
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
You should be able to flash another Rom.
Otherwise copy the pd98img to your SD card enter bootloader, let it do its thing ...
Guess.. Remove and re-plugged the sd card. , might be the remount it.

Hi,
I just rooted my HTC Desire HD, and installed a custom ROM (Android Revolution HD 6.3.2). After starting up the phone, I tried to change the skin on the phone (I don't like the original skin) but every time I press the Skin-button (Personalize -> Skin) I get the error message; Sorry! The application Skin Picker (process com.htc.skinpicker) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any idea of how to fix this?
thank you in advance.
You can try fixing the permissions. If you have 4ext recovery I believe it has an option or you can download rom manager. Either one might fix it.

Thx..

Besides reading the revolution thread to see if anyone else has had the same problem and rebooting your phone, nope, don't have anything else.

no you shouldn't because sometimes problem happens from restoring files with titanium and also not full wipe when installing the ROM or maybe bad flash...
Did u full wipe before install or checked the MD5 SUM of the rom?because few weeks ago i just installed 6.3.2 without any probs with it

I don't think I did a full wipe ... that might be it.. I just followed what was said in this tutorial http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-root-the-htc-desire-hd/ and renamed the zip "update.zip" and went into recovery mode -> install update from SDcard -> install update.zip.
... I hope there is another way than wipe it ... don't want to loose all my contacts...

Thats the problem.. U must full wipe before installing the new ROM...
For contact u can sync it to google account and also can export it to sdcard(there is an option in contact app)..so after full wipe u can restore it from sd card..

Hello.
My girlfriend got my old Desire and I flashed Oxygen and Oxygen hboot on it some time ago. Now I want her to have Cyanogenmod (because of some errors with Oxygen). I know I can't just flash Cyanogenmod without deleting a few apps from the zip file, if I want it to work with the Oxygen hboot.
I deleted unnecessary apps so the file is about 66MB in size. I deleted the data/factory reset and wiped the cache (as told in the tutorial), I flashed and it gets stuck at the HTC bootscreen.
How do I flash it WITH the Oxygen Hboot?
Best you open the zip in 7zip or something. Then check whether the expanded size of the sytem folder is less than the oxygen 100 MB. For Ex Oxygen 2.3.2 system folder is 61.5MB which when expanded fills around 96MB.

It its. About 10 MB to big. I don't know what to remove. I really don't need LatinIME (keyboard) and the launcher, but I need it to start. I just need to install titanium backup.
EDIT: i also tried flashing cyanogenmod without factory reset and just wiping cache and Delvik cache. It worked, but I couldn't ass a google accout, even though I flash google apps too.
Is it so hard to flash different hboot?
I think that you can survive without that 20-30MB...

if u dont want, or know how to use fastboot just download the PB99IMG version of the hboot, rename it to just PB99IMG.zip, put it on ur sdcard and boot into bootloader (volume down +power) then ur bootloader will find PB99IMG and ask to update bootloader? volume up for yes then it will ask to reboot? volume down for no. then just enter recovery, full wipe and install the rom. simple

This is one and the easiest way how you can do it, but I prefer flashing via fastboot. I also recommend format of all partitions before flashing. Trust me it's less problem than stripping of rom.
Alright. I will do that instead then.

Of course, but I do that even before flashing, cause a few times I got problems with recovery not working so I had to flash it also.

I wasn't trying to be rude. The desire is my girlfriend and now I finally got the cyanogenmod on it. But I would like to try it on my own Galaxy 2
I think you have both cm7 and cm9 versions on Cyanogenmod site.
I personaly have a Desire so I made a few roms for it, so if I ever have a G II (which I doubt cause I'm not a big fan of Samsung, actually I hate it )...
The rom I suggested you I made based on cm 7.2.0.1, the latest stable version, but it is modded a little bit.

hi partitioned my sd card so no probs there, ive been searching for that exactly i do with the partition now ive got it lol,
in titanium backup i can see theres stuff on the new partition but ive no clue whats on there, so whats it for & how do i put things on it & what things? but most of all why did i make it in the first place?? lol
you're supposed to research this stuff before you do it...
i also hope that you've used either gparted or 4ext recovery to parition (not minitool...)
basically the partition is generally for apps. it's better than normal android 'move to SD' because you can move all of the app, and can move widgets too. you can also move dalvik cache to sd as well depending on the script.
this all depends on what rom your are using and what built in script (if any) it uses to move bits around.
further reading here, i'd recommend reading through more of those guides just for more general learning...
titanium backup will show that the partition is filling up. better apps like 'diskusage' will show you how all your partitions are being used.
i did try to find out as much as i could & the reson i did it before knowing why is cos i want to know i can do it more than anything else all i knew was everyone else is doin it so i needed to know how lol

Yh, dont use rom manager (cwm) to partition ur sdcard, it makes bad partitions. Like eddie says, use gparted or download http://4ext.net/ updater app then install 4ext recovery and use that to partition sdcard.
Dont forget backup first

uninstall rom manager like you would any other app if you haven't already. you don't need it, and can cause real problems if you use it with this phone.

yh nandroid backup and save on computer also anything else u want to save. then depending on what rom ur going to install, partition ur sdcard to what ever the rom requires. so once u know that, boot into recovery go to tools/partition sdcard/ remove all partitions and start from scratch.
then ul have to choose size, normally most requirements would be this setup
1024 (1gb)
skip
skip
then choose ext4 and ur done.
just dont go bigger than 1.5gb ext4 (1524)
check ron requirments first tho

hey people how we all doing...
i have a question .... i have installed many roms since rooting my phone... as such my sd card is full of stuff that i think i dont need.... i want to format it all... but wanted to know if i would need to save a few folders and not delete them.... like android folder or nething.... and just say if i do format all the sd card.... would the installed rom stop functioning ? advice welcome thankyou
If you wiped as you should when flashing ROMs you should only have stuff related to your current rom. And yes it would stop functioning . if you really wanna do it I would save any personal stuff like music, pics docs etc and do a full wipe and re-install your rom so its nice and fresh then copy your stuff back over

How do you make a full wipe? Is your clockworkmod still working then?
Yes, a full wipe does not wipe the recovery itself and also not the current flashed boot.img file.

Thx.. But i did a format. now my phone won't mount my sd to my pc so i cant copy my rom...
im also having problems.... well i formatted the full phone.... both sd card n phone... n now the phones empty...
copied the rom over from the computer, .... flashed the boot.img and then flashed the rom (with the wipes) and now its stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.... is their anything i have to do before flashing the rom? or should it work ? i currently tried flashing domination rom .... didnt work with that now im thinking of trying a different one
and i know it could be the kernel at fault... maybe need to flash a different one.. i am aware of that.. but i thought id ask if formatting the sd card may have caused it,
Should work fine, did it myself to many times. Format everything and reflash the rom including flashing the boot.img. never had an issue.
Did you format the sdcard inside the recovery ?
Thanks for the reply . i flashed a different rom and it worked !! So its fine now... I think because domination rom is a mix of all, i may have had to flash a modded boot img or something lol
