Automatically Take Pictures during Face Unlock - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Hi All,
I am searching for a cool applications meeting these requirements:
1) Take pictures everytime Face Unlock is performed or everytime there is an attempt to unlock the phone by any means.
2) Upload the photos to a cloud storage like Dropbox (i could use sync) or save them in a hidden folder in Mass Memory.
3) Option to take Burst image capture on failed attempt to unlock the phone.
I have searched this forum and have found threads where the same question was asked but no perfect answers were available and those threads were too outdated....
It would be a cool app if anybody could make it.....:fingers-crossed:

Cerberus takes photos on any failed unlock but only when in reverts to pin or pattern, just doesn't work on face unlock it also sends the pictures to your email. It also takes pictures when Sims are changed and various other settings.

not sure if this will work with face unlock, but it works with pattern

[SOLVED] GMail app - always show pictures?

Is there any way to get the GMail app to always show pictures, without having to press the "Show pictures" button? It annoys the hell out of me - I ALWAYS want to see the pictures!!!
Anyone got an answer for me?
Yet another bump since I still don't have an answer.
I'm now running Pays Sense Froyo rom.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
anyone got any ideas?
I want this also....please.
no you cant, its there to protect you not just from malicious code but also from illegal images ......
An honest question - how does making me press a button protect me from malicious code?
And illegal images, well I've never received an email with illegal images in it, and I think I'm prepared to take that risk since I'm an adult!
I just want my pictures shown straight away!
If the same account was able to have pics shown by default on the iPhone surely some has a fix or script or workaround for this bad idea on a Droid?
Thanks Kevin
"Show Pictures" button issue - WTF?
I am using Android 2.2 on a Droid X and I M NOT able to see my HTML emails automatically? I have to hit a "Show Pictures" button EVERYTIME?? This is the dumbest thing I have heard.
I can turn this option on in my GMail account, so we can't I turn it on in the GMail app on my Android phone?
Security? That is a lame-ass excuse, like I said, I can turn it on in my web based GMail account and GMail automatically filters 99% of all SPAM messages automatically AND IF there is SPAM in my email box, it's usually something I know not to click on it (on the phone) and when I do log into my webmail I report it as SPAM. WTF?
I solved this problem by using the K-9 mail application.
It is in the market and you can download the latest version off the developers google dev web site.
It has the setting to always show pictures.
Good luck to all.
Kevin
This has been solved now.
This post from this thread provides a GMail update that is flashable through ROM Manager or recovery.
Works a treat!
Thank you so much. I also think it pretty freaking stupid and not insecure. Scripts should always be be disabled but I dont see how allowing/placing/resizing picture is dangerous at all. There are empty spaces, that when you click them it goes to a link. It was a picture with a link attached, but now its clueless link. Its more dangerous to allow contextual boxes then pics. Downloading anything illegal without criminal intent is not prosecutable. My 2 cents anywho.
Thanks..I have updated Gmail app..The problem is now resolved.

google + instant upload

Does anybody knows how to delete instant upload picture on the galaxy nexus
It's such a pain in the ass, it took me deleting em off picasa/Google+ and then flashing a new rom.
Edit: This is just what I did in my frustration, might be an easier way that I am unaware of.
Sent from my Google phone
Go into G+ and then into Settings and you can disable the instant upload (or just disable it when first setting it up)

Have you tried going into the app and then the photos section, scrolling down to "photos from your phone", long pressing on the photo and then choosing the delete option? Or does that not perform the action you want (it will delete from phone and Google+).
there is no option to delele picture from google + site and if you go in to galery and go to instant uploads setting no option to delete picture.what do i do
That happens when you open the exact same thread two times...
I've answered to that question in the other one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437241

[Q] PLEASE HELP! Unlocked bootloader, lost my 2 week old baby's pics, I wanna die...

Please help me... I unlocked bootloader, it wiped all my phone, then rooted hoping to get some sort of backup. No luck. Can you please help? Lost my 2 week old's baby photos due to stupidity.
David
try this: http://www.wondershare.com/disk-utility/recover-deleted-photos-from-nexus-s-and-galaxy-nexus.html
if that doesnt work, you might be out of luck.
Thanks Zep... unfortunately this doesn't work with the Galaxy Nexus, as it doesn't have an SD card and isn't recognized by the program.
there are some apps that have require root access that i have heard you can use to restore deleted files

Sorry dude that sucks. Even though some people may hate it that is the benefits of the cloud.
Google+ uses an instant upload function that automatically uploads pictures taken from your phone into Google Photo's. DropBox has a similar feature which also syncs your photos into the cloud storage. Google+ edges dropbox out because it allows you to view photos sitting in the cloud Google Photos/Picasa directly in your gallery.
I am consistently wiping and changing ROMS on my phone so I opted to not have anything major physically stored on it. All my albums are store in Google+ Photos and are not shared, they are private and only visible to me. So if I ever have to wipe..say I am on vacation and my phone gets stolen and I have to do a remote wipe before transferring the pictures I snapped over, I know they were probably uploaded to Google Photos and I won't lose any candids.
Thanks Zep.,
These progs. unfortunately aren't working with ICS. I really appreciate your advice. Thanks again.
Dave
I'm sorry to hear you lost your photos, but every post about unlocking your bootloader states that it will wipe your phone.
Per the previous post, think about using Google+, Drive, or Dropbox.
I hope you are able to recover the photos.
Thanks for the advice. I'll try to somehow backdoor install "undelete for root users" on my phone and see if it'll work with ics.

U should post/ask this in the actually Google / android forums, yes sounds crazy since ur basically hacking ur phone but if they didn't want us to do it they wouldn't give us stock images and way to relock bootloader, its worth a try ... if anyone would no its them
Currently there is no android app that can restore files deleted off an ext4 partition (which is what the GNex uses). Not sure if there is anything available in Linux, but if so, you should theoretically be able to find some way to mount the /sdcard and use the Linux program. Haven't looked into it myself though.

Private Mode Feature

I just found out about a feature called "Private Mode" and I wanted to share with my friends on XDA that may not be aware of this awesome feature. I store pictures and videos on my phone that may be questionable in nature. In the past I've been using a third party app like SafeGallery to make sure my reputation is not ruined by someone accidentally running into one of these questionable media types on my phone. There is actually a built-in feature on the phone that can accomplish this goal -- namely, "Private Mode". You can go into the Quick Settings from the notification menu and toggle this mode. Then you choose a picture or video that you would like to make private and it will no longer be visible unless you are in private mode. Just like Smart Unlock this is a great baked-in solution that eliminates the need for another third-party app.
Here is an article about Private Mode: http://www.androidcentral.com/understanding-private-mode-samsung-galaxy-s6
private mode is awesome!!! i also have videos and photos that i store in there, but you can store a lot more in there and i love that you can open those pics and stuff very easy and then when you lock your phone again they are hidden once again. now one nice thing is that if someone tries to find your private folder its also hidden. what it seems to do is make a sudo sd card and when you enable private mode it mounts the private sd card in a since. i have to say this is one of many of my favorite features of this phone. you can use this to hide a lot of files and even folders if needed/wanted.
Thanks for making a thread about this i honestly didnt know people wouldnt know about this feature.
When was this feature added? I had the Note3 for 2 years and have never heard of this. Would have been a shame if it was there the whole time.

Thanks I've been moving some of my, err, more personal pics to private! Easy as pie.

Portrait mode creates a new folder?

Every time I take photos in portrait mode it creates a folder just for the two pictures. Every time. Anyone notice it

Yes. I found your thread because I'm looking to find a way to turn this off. It makes it tedious to view the photos from a third-party app or to copy the photos to your desktop.

Why don't you use a Gallery like Google Photos or QuickPic ?
So you can select the pictures that you want and then click on share.

Quick Pic shows me the folders. And, this doesn't help at all when transferring to the desktop. Also, when you delete a photo, the empty folder remains. It was not at all well thought out or tested with regular people.

If I remember well, you could select to display only the pictures in Quickpic, I'm not sure though. I will check this once back home.

This is part of Google messages. When you select to add a photo and click the icon to go into your folders to look. You can't use photos on Google messages to select what you want
I created a post on the Pixel Forum about this exact issue. I am also using Quickpic to move the portrait folders into the default camera gallery.
Camera: Portrait Mode creates individual folders for every Portrait Mode photo taken
Yes I hate this, what a stupid way to organize portrait mode pics.
They need to fix this, its a deal breaker for me... not worth having it this way just creates a big mess

This bugged me so I tried numerous gallery apps. Only Google photos handles portrait shots properly.

It's not a problem with Google Messages, it's a problem with how you're using the software.
When you're getting to the Document Chooser, you're selecting "Images" which brings up a folder view. Instead of doing that, press "Photos" from further down on the left and you'll see a proper gallery view.
While it's annoying to use in QuickPic, if anything the new organization structure forced me to realize that the way I was accessing images in the software was actually inefficient all along and I just never realized it, and I've started using Photos for all of my snapped photos and QuickPic for all the rest (with the Camera folder hidden).
Anybody got solution ?
I just use Tasker shell commands to move files around to where I want them to be.
In this case, I have it set to move the two images into a folder of my choosing, and then delete the now empty folders. Gotta love Tasker lol
Good idea!
