So i am new to this forum and ive rooted my evo since November of 2011 and like 4 Months After rooting it ive noticed some really bad issues that i can't seem to be able to fix by myself so here are my issue 1. Car home App by google starts up when ever i reboot or turn off and then on my phone or will come on by itself for no reason and it happens on any rom whether it's HTC Sense or Cyanogen Mod or any Rom. My second problem is that when i am on HTC Sense Rom Or Any other HTC Sense Based rom like warm two point two For Example My Media Volume Wont work like there is sound but i cant control the volume level of it whether i want it all the way down or all the way up there's no difference in sound it just stays the same PLEASE HELP Me FIX THIS ISSUE I REALLY AM STARTING TO HATE IT ILL EVEN UN-ROOT IT IF I HAVE TO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO FIX IT BUT PLEASE HELP I AM A NOOB AND I AM PRETTY MUCH NEW AT THIS STUFF!!!!!!!:crying::crying::crying::crying:
OOHHH P.S.
The Media Volume Thing Only Happens When I Use The Headphone Jack (Again It Only Happens When Im Using a HTC Sense Rom Not When Using Something Like Cyanogen Mod)!!!!!
To answer the first question, I'm pretty sure the car home thing is due to a broken usb port.
As for the second, can't help ya there.

I have a problem with my HTC Desire. The sound from the external speaker has gone off - no ringtone, music, sms notification or game sound - nothing of anything. I still get sound through the headset, but it is choppy (and skips tracks in the music player). Also if the phone has been on standby for a while I (very) occasionally get a small snippet of sound (no more than 3 or 4 seconds) from the external speaker. This would imply that it's some sort of software fault rather than hardware. I rooted and flashed the with OpenDesire 1.0c (Froyo) a couple of months back and had been using it without a problem since - until this sound problem cropped up.
I've already cleared out the phone and re-installed OpenDesire 1.0c in an attempt to fix but that didn't work.
I've trawled round XDA Developers for a solution but couldn't find a fix. Therefore, I called HTC (UK) and they are arranging to pick up the phone by courier to inspect and where necessary, fix/replace.
However, before I return the phone I need to go back to the original stock ROM (Vodafone UK). But before I do this, I thought I'd post one final call to see if anyone else has had the same problem and knows of a fix.
Thanks in advance for any help.
You should try the latest version of OpenDesire. 1.0c is very old...
I've had the same problem, there was no way to fix. I needed a replacement handset.

Sorry Pulser
Each time I connect my Desire to a charger or a computer, it wakes up and starts the Clock app. Even if it's locked. I'm using the stock 2.2 ROM, no root, HTC sense. Moreover, when I disconnect it, it acts almost exactly as if I pressed the “home” button.
Does anybody have any idea how to get rid of this?
By the way, my girlfriend has a Wildfire and a few days ago it started to exhibit the same behavior. Maybe it's related to the fact that she downloaded the OTA update to 2.2 not so long ago…
why dont you root yoor phone and you dont have this problem anymore
recomended root your phone and install ReflexTSense 1.7 realy fast HD rom

Because:
I don't have time to play around with my phone for a day or more to set everything up the way it was.
I like my warranty.
The last time I asked on a forum, there was no complete backup/restore solution and I'd hate to lose my PIM / application data.
The issue I'm experiencing looks like a misconfiguration or a bug in the HTC ROM that only started to exhibit after a few months of usage so I wanted to know if there's an easy solution.

This HD rom, is it for the regular Desire or only Desire HD?
Hi everyone, I like many others updated to 2.3.3 and now I have a very buggy evo 4g. Problems such as speaker phone turning on ramdomly, screen wakes up for no reason and can't put it back to sleep, volume rocker no longer works when asleep, and other minor quarks. Question is should I take it to sprint and have them try to fix it before I try my first root ever, or simply proceed with the root and hope the issues go away after root? Thanks for the help.
My guess would be that it is hardware problems. But I would root it anyways and see if a custom ROM fixes your issues. Only knowledge can come from rooting your phone so try it out and If it doesn't work then unroot and grab a replacement. Nothin to lose really

Thanks but I thought you couldn't unroot 2.3.3 as.of yet? i could be wrong tho.
I say go ahead and root and flash the thing. My GF's Evo started acting wonky after the OTA updates so I was pretty sure that it wasn't a hardware issue. I rooted and flashed Synergy on her phone and it's been alot more stable with better battery life according to her.
ok if all else fails i guess i flash the stock rom, and go to sprint? though not fully unrooted i shouldnt have a problem right?
Yeah I guess they don't have an unroot option. As long as you flash a stock ROM and make it look stock 2.3.3, sprint shouldn't hassle you.

Thanks guys for all the feedback but today was an all time low for my evo. Every bug i mentioned occurred today plus some new ones such as screen unresponsive and phone turning off. I dont wanna take the chance of ending up with a buggy rooted evo that i cant get serviced because it cant be unrooted. I think the best is hope for sprint to give me a new phone, and root a new(refurbished most likely) evo. Thanks again.
Seems like everything you described is software related. Root it and flash a different rom and you will be good to go
Hey, I really didn't want to have to start a new thread but unfortunately as i have not posted before i could not post on the development thread for this ROM.
Basically I managed to successfully install SGBS 2.8.2, or i though i had. It boots fine but when it gets loading sense it gets stuck at the sense loading box, I am not entirely sure what may be causing this problem but i thought it may have something to do with me using a class 2 micro SD card.
Being that I am relatively new to the whole ROM and flashing scene i am not exactly sure on how to effectively troubleshoot the problem without posting on here.
I hope someone can help me and thanks in advance to anyone that is able to.
Thanks , Luke.
Sorry to re-post, I just realised that I missed some information that may be important, firstly I am using the stock Hboot version of SGBS, so I am not sure if perhaps that could be causing an issue as I am unsure as to how different boot tables would affect the loading speeds, if the would at all.
Also I have been experiencing problems with the flashlight on my phone, it began when I was using the flashlight apk and it randomly started becoming out of sync with the level of brightness that I selected within the app so I uninstalled it, now the flashlight LED randomly turns itself on for no reason, I did some research and I thought it could have been an issue with the proximity sensor but after downloading an app that reads the values for the sensor I discovered it wasn't.
I really am clueless as to what to do in an attempt to fix any of these problems but it certainly is becoming really annoying.
Thanks, Luke.
Flash a ruu and see if your problems are still present

Yeah, I have thought of attempting to flash a RUU to fix my flashlight problems however I still cant figure out how to fix SGBS hanging at the loading box for sense. It's weird because I can still receive calls and use the notification bar and quick settings but sense just doesn't seem to load :/
Right well I just flashed the official HTC 2.3.3 RUU and it has not fixed any problems, ,my flashlight still randomly turns itself on and off. Although for some reason flashing the RUU did not s-on my device which it has done every time I have flashed my RUU.
Sounds like a hardware problem if the ruin has not fixed it

Yeah, it has turned out to be a hardware fault so I contacted virgin and they sent out a new phone the next day. So all of those problems are fixed.
However I am still not entirely sure as to how to get SGBS working properly, the installation instructions for it are pretty vague so if anyone could give me some more detailed instructions for this ROM it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys,
I've rooted and flashed my htc one x cause it was starting to act strangely. the screen was getting non responsive, couldn't pick up the calls etc.. I thought flashing it would help but it wouldn't I tried Android Revolution HD 21.0 and no help, the screen started to act crazy /look at the youtube link/ even tried a different kernel, then I flashed Cyanogen and still no help. After the screen goes on the phone acts crazy /not everytime-but mostly when I need to answer or make a call ) I don't know what to do. any ideas?
thanks

Return to stock and send it in for warranty. Unlocking and rooting/flashing a phone is the absolute LAST resort to solve a problem.....
Hi,
the problems appears and goes.. it's not that it's acting like this all the time.. It just appears out of the blue and bugs me.. wonder what it is.. If I won't find out I might want to get HTC ONE from my operator..
and isn't it a kernel problem or something like that?
