If you look below your XDA username on the right of your first post, you will see (OP)
Original Post or Original Poster... at least thats how i think of it. Basically meaning whoever has (OP) next to their name means that they are the person who started that thread. Just like you are the OP of this thread because you started it..

I have the same problem, I don't want to end up writing useless drivel to get my post count up (like now) just so I can ask a sensible question about a problem I am having installing potatomans camera upgrade.
Is there any other way round it?

No there is no way around it. And if it is a question that needs to be asked. The Q&A forums are the place to ask and you canboost there without the limit. Development is not for asking questions

Because you failed to read the message that appeared on your screen in bold print.
Anyone else just ignore error messages rather than reading them?

You shouldn't be asking a simple question like that in development. Ask in Q&A
I got the same problem!
Just like me, but its the forum rules, so we need stick whit it weather we want to or not.
P.S. My written english may have some bugs, its all about what I meant to say and thats hopefully allways clear.

It takes upto an hour for it to be processed
Why 1 hour? Make it less
because if you're really planning on contributing you wouldn't mind that 1 hour
I had been on these forums reading for days, then I actually needed something done and tried to post... and was rebuffed!

Same here. I've been using this Web site for like a year or more. Had just got a password and screen name, feeling like I had gained enough knowledge to contribute to my favourite ROM thread, typed this long post, put alot of thought into it, hit submit, and got dissed. I'm not mad, just wish I would have known weeks ago.

What if you needed to say something before it was too late? Like "don't flash that, I did and it bricked my phone" or something. Just saying.

What does OP mean?

Guys. I am excited to know what does op mean? Written like this: "junior member |OP|"

Original prankster (said with Ice-T's voice)
Original poster, to be precise...the one who made the thread...
Sent from my GT-S5670
Two different things:
1) When it's by a username in a thread (like yours right now) or if someone refers to someone else as the OP, it means Original Poster.
2) When someone says, "...in the OP", it means Original Post.
Here,
Person 1: Do you know what OP means?
Person 2: Yeah, it's Orgasmic Platypus.
Person 3: No, it's OctoPie.
Person 4: Really, it's Original Poster.
Persons 2+3: No, they're just trying to screw with you. Believe us, not them.
wow lol.. and so what does OP now really mean??
can someone just say the truth??

|OP| only shows up under someone's username if they were the person who started the thread that you're viewing right now.
