Which Rom??

it depends on what you're interested in. there's a thread with a list of xperia pro roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642480) that you can check out. i'm using jj hybrid and it's not bad.

CM9 series by FXP are the best ROMs so far for pro..

Hi,
I Would recommend to test the cyanogenmods (cm9 and 7.2) and the pureness rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780473 ).
I Think you would find the best for you, give it a try

CM10
or
CM10.1

I was using the "Ultimate HD 3" rom (now there's a newer version) and it was pretty good but some day ago a friend of mine found a rom based on gingerbread that is very slim and fast so I'm using that one now

Amazing that this thread still exists.
There is no such thing as "Best ROM". You can find your "Best ROM" by downloading and trying out a few of the ROMs yourself. To other users, please don't bump up or reply to such threads as it is meaningless to do so.
Mod, please close thread.

[q] should I wait for official ICS or flash a XDA ROM?

Hi
I own an Arc S Lt18A with 2.3 android, should I wait for official ICS or flash one of those custom roms out there?
I know from my experince with x10 mini, that XDA roms are way better than stock roms, is that similar with arc s roms?
If you think I should flash a xda rom which one is the best? and which kernel?
thanks guys
What to wait ? It's already here.
not for my version.. anyway what is better custom xda rom or official ICS?

You can still flash the official ICS rom/firmware (just grab the generic global world).
The worst thing that'll happen, is that you'll lose the bloatware your ISP added
And as for the official/custom discussion, I agree with xMimyx.
Just read the information supplied with the various custom roms and decide for yourself wether or not it's better than the official

I'd say flash the latest, official version. That's what I did and it works really well. I did that after working my way through a few different threads on here, and having to educate myself once or twice along the way. It wasn't perfectly easy, it wasn't as hard as it looked, and it was worthwhile.
So I'll say that's the best and other people might say different, but it doesn't look like they're willing too. The general attitude on here is "Do it yourself." These forums are fantastic in the amount of knowledge available, but many of the experts are so knowledgeable that they don't fully understand how difficult and overwhelming it is for those of us who don't immerse ourselves in Android.. and just want a phone that works well.

In my honest own opinion ..
so far the best dicission as a beginning ..
To keep yo on the line
there is MooDeD , Arconium , Miui , and Cyanogenmod ..
also Team Xperia's Roms are Amazing ..
the most supported , most famour and most stable as custom roms ..
If you would try custom roms try all of them then decide which to stay with ...

[Q] Arconium ICS or MooDeD by Chaos FirZen?

As in the title - what's better: Arconium ICS or MooDeD by Chaos FirZen? I have used both ROMs and I think Arconium ICS is a little, little bit smoother and lagless. From the other hand, MooDeD ICS has great support from Chaos FirZen. Arconium ICS didn't get an update from a month.
Any suggestions? Please, help!
U answered the question urself

No I didn't, did I? In your signature I see "Arconium 8.2 Gingerbread", so you like Arconium. 8.2 is Gingerbread so it hasn't had an update since months. MooDeD or Arconium ICS? Can you help, please?
U cant really compare them to say which one is better. Every rom has its pros and cons. U have to decide which one is the best for YOU.
And a good rom doesnt need to be updated every week.
In my case, GB is fine for me. Its fast, smooth, stable and has no bugs. So, it doesnt need to be updated.

In Arconium ics v4
All fw.431 addons & themes; mods etc all stuff could be fashesd.
Because its mostly has rebased the official rom.
Whether .Modded ics . Some of the addons like themes mods etc stuff of fw.431 could not work in most case
s.
Its now ur choice .
If u want all fw.431 addons u should go for Arconium v4 ics.
Or
If u dont interest in addons of fw.431. Go for modded ics.
As most addons from fw 431 does not work in modded ics rom.
Though modded roms.are re based to latest 431 fw.
I have tested it myself.
I choosed Arconium ics because: i want to flash all awesome addons of fw.431.
Now choice is urs.
Do .what ur heart says .
Btw. Performance is nice in both the roms.
Enough i said
Cheers!

Best ROM and kernel for Arc?

Hey all,
I've just bought one of these and I'm waiting for it to arrive.
In the meantime, I'm looking for custom ROMs and kernels to use but there are just so many.
The reason I bought one is because I bricked my previous phone. I'm currently using a really old phone and intend to use the Arc as soon as I get it and I probably won't have a lot of time to do testing of my own.
What I'm looking for is a really stable ROM that has good performance and very little bloat installed. As for the kernel, whatever people think is the best will do. I probably won't be overclocking the phone (most likely underclocking) as the main thing I want from my phone is good battery life.
Thanks for any input!
jjHybrid Rom 3.2 and Arcknight kernel 3.3 no overclock.

There is no best.
You have to search and find yourself, what features are important and what not, what do you want to use it for and if you want GB or ICS.
There is no best for everyone.

So my phone arrived and it's been updated to 4.1.B.0.587.
The bootloader is locked and I want to keep it that way just because I don't want to mess anything up.
I was wondering am I able to installed the locked bootloader version of JJ's Hybrid ROM 3.2 Stable on 4.1.B.0.587?
Thanks.
PS - I would have asked this on the development thread, but I don't have enough posts to post there.

You must root your phone using this method
Then you can proceed to JJ's Hybrid
best kernel is the stock kernel
and the best rom is the stock rom with all bloatwares manually removed, manually tweaked, manually supercharged, manually installed Mods...
install watever u want and delete watever u dont want..simple!!

Had been using MIUI (Chi Ver) for a month and then gave up.
JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.2 is good but I had to install the AnyLocale.apk and JAYS_Headset_Control.apk to make it works.
Been using Xperia Ice Cream Pureness (Build 10) with .431 then .587 for a week and love it.
Love them both because of the on screen button.
ROM
ArcKnight 3.5 kernel goes along with IC.Xperiance well. Its fast and great for beginners ! links below

JJ's and CM9, which one you would like a bit more ?
I did tried several ROMs but never the CM series before :silly:
..
If you don't care about graphical user interface ,defintely JJ hybrid rom is great (fast - compatible with games - has ROM control as well) ,few bugs though like wifi hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1537717
If you care about having nice user interface with reasonable game performance you can try Jelly sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1836993 or the Remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1884958
For the Kernel i always advice to use stock kernel in order to avoid battery drain issues

[Q] Best Custom Rom For Xperia Arc LT15i

Hi, i have an Xperia LT15i and i'd like to know what is the best custom rom around here for my device. I see this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786871 , it is stable?? If i install this rom, i have to install anything else(tweeks,root,etc..)??
My device have the bootloader unlocked.
One more question, how do i install permanently the CWM to enter in the recovery boot menu?
Sorry about the questions, its a noob talking here , and sorry about my english...

i agree with u but i love Jellybean ( original , not combo between Jelly and ICS).
Any ROM with Paranoid settings which allow you to set dpi for single apps is awesome. I have compiled paranoid android 2.55 and put link in thread in dev section of you wanna try. Camps is also pretty awesome but my phone got really sluggish with that so I use regular PA.

If You are looking for GB based Roms then X-Gamer v1.6, this will give you an Internal Mem of 355MB, and RAM of nearly 240MB after installation and its stable too. If ICS based Roms then JelleySandwich 7.4. its stable (by stable i mean after installation everything works).
The above Roms i have tested it on LT15i with LB though.
new rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168609
that new one is beautiful:good:
Cm10 based ROM: RacingBean v3.0 ! Very very Fast and stable ! :good:
We're not allowed to ask this kind of questions. Every rom is good. But it depends on ones needings.
Gb rom is always preferred if u want smoothness.
For interface you must try ics or jb..

So far its working fine on my LT15 xperia with minor bugs

I have tried many ROMs on my Xperia SL. They are MIUI, SlimBean, PAC, Trinity ROM.. Out of which the most stable and successful for me is TrinityHaxxorX TVP rom. I am using 2.5 version..
MIUI is also good but need to fix a lot of bugs.. Other ROMs I used are based on cm 10, basically I don't like the appearance. You can try them out too..
