Hi all pretty new to android , can you make & use custom message tone ? i am running jelly bean 4.1.1 ?
cheers Allan
Yes make a folder in you're sd card called notifications & drop what ever you want as a message tone in there! You can do the same with ringtones or alarms by making folders called ringtones or alarms! If this has helped press the thanks button on this comment

My question is fairly simple: LED blinking for missed calls (actually not working on my Nexus) is a "feature" (read: it's not implemented on purpose) or a real bug in JB 4.1.2?
Please and please, avoid LightFlow suggestions... I know how it works, I even own the app, but I'm not using it because battery life :good:
hey i just noticed that.. its there on all 4.1.2 roms and i just flashed the stock rom yesterday so didnt notice.. but i think its a bug doubt its a feature
Never worked for me since ics, just for sms/mail

use codename android, you can set a color for missed calls, i had kept it red and it works fine

So ICS -> JB 4.1.1 -> JB 4.1.2 -> JB 4.2. Seriously? I don't think it's a bug, because they didn't managed to fix it during 4 releases. In addition, because it's not working since ICS, that sounds like a never implemented feature to me, do you agree?

No way for me to flash a ROM other than stock. I've brought a Nexus just because I want to enjoy vanilla Android, ASAP.

Yes, I agree. I didn't say it was a bug though
Ok sorry guys if this has already been answered I checked only the Galaxy Nexus forums because it's the only device I have and I haven't heard of anyone else having my problem yet. I've searched Google as well but I've couldn't find an answer to my question so I came here. Maybe I'm not wording the question correctly. Let me give a little background.
I'm using a Stock 32Gig Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.1 Device. I'm not rooted. So I noticed that one of the features of 4.1 Jelly Bean was the nice expandable notifications in the notification bar with the ability to respond to the text, emails, & Facebook posts directly from the notification bar.
However I can't respond to anything. The only thing it allows me to do is to collapse or un-collapse the text, email, etc. Anyone know if I've done something wrong or was this feature removed from 4.1 Jelly Bean or from the Verizon version of the Nexus? The latter definitely would not surprise me. Thanks
Seem to be having an issue with my i515 (Toro) Galaxy Nexus. I'm running mmuzzy's rom, French Vanilla, and didn't get a recent Amber alert that several coworkers (on Verizon) got. Everything is enabled on the phone for the alerts to get pushed, so I was hoping that someone might have the OTA version of cellbroadcastreceiver.apk from the latest push.
PM or Link.
Also willing to further discuss this hiccup if anyone wants.
Thanks in advance,
SuD
