I have Odin to EN and did every ota up to LG2 .
I flashed LG8 via stock recovery then Odin cwm to flash root, then flashed touch cwm. Factory format data.
No extra tweaks. Now the problem I'm having are
1. Touch sounds becoming enabled once I disable them.
2. Camera performance plummeted..burst mode nearly useless because the time it takes to load, process and save the photos. It's really sluggish. Switching from video mode to photo lags, taking picture in video mode stutters the camera.
Before the update I had no issues. Can anyone confirm?

Im using freegs3 v.7 and i dont have either issue you describe.
Yep I don't have these issues either. Maybe try a different Rom? I am using Blazer 1.6.
Thanks for suggestions guys but I like stock + root (and perhaps some tweaks here and there) maybe I'm getting old lol jkk
But the camera deal had calmed down. My phone was not earlier so something was taxing my processor for a while

Nope, I'm on stock rooted LG8 and don't have either of those issues. I've got touch sounds turned off, and I just shot a burst of something like 12 pics in 2 seconds.
I kept root using Voodoo rootkeeper, didn't bother reinstalling CWM yet.
But yes, touch sound still happens. I know there is a way to rename that file to a silent one

I am running on the lastest blazer rom and I am having the same issue with the touch sounds. I've tried it with two stock phones and I was able to verify it too. I seems to enable itself when going to the the camera and it's on video mode. If you go back to settings you'll see that its checked. Even it it's check you won't hear the sounds but eventually they will start again.
I was at a concert and I did notice that the phone would have a hard time focusing. Once I started the camera I would have to put the camera down and wait a few seconds then point where I wanted to shoot and it worked. I never had thos problems with my GSII.

My touch sounds randomly turn on. Running on stock rom and LI3 update. It's happened a few times now even after turning them off. Anyone else experiencing this?

Happens to me once in a while.
I think it's a bug that is triggered from opening the camera app. I believe all lg8 and LI3 stock and custom roms have this bug. Not sure if it still exists in the jb leak.
I have the same here, but I didn't notice it started until after I had tried a few different launchers and was uncertain which had caused it

Nope, it seems to be fixed in the JB leak. I've been on LIH for at least a week and haven't had it happen to me. Happened all the time on ICS.
This only happens to me when I re-boot my phone. Maybe it is a bug on one of the o.t.a. updates....????
This is my signature...
If your rooted with a custom recovery I made a flashable zip to completely remove the touch sound for ICS Roms. It just replaces the touch sound with a silent .ogg. Ill also include a zip to restore the touch sound if you decide you want to have it back. Just flash the zip in recovery, reboot and enjoy.

Ever since last week, whenever I use either the default or a 3rd party camera app (vignette in this case), the lense starts to click. Then after I take the picture, phone freezes for about 10 seconds and fc. SOmetimes the phone restarts. The picture is always taken iin the end. Its impossible to take sequential pictures at this point. Any ideas with the issue? Ive been through about 6 roms (clean installs) with the same issue. Currently on Kobridge GA10 with kobridge tweaks on stock GA10 kernel. Thanks in advance

Go to el29. Its gingerbread. Clean install. Full wipe etc. If it still happens then its a hardware problem.

I rooted my galaxy s3 when I got it. sometimes the screen turns on and it is unresponsive to touch. As soon as I turn the screen off and back on with the lock button then it works fine. It does it randomly, for instance when somebody calls I can't answer it sometimes I have to hurry up and turn the screen off and back on so I can swipe to answer. Also when I'm playing a game like hill climb racing it works then after a minute it stops responding completely until I lock and unlock the screen. Everything was working fine until I rooted it. That is my only issue. Any suggestions? Thanks
Are you using a custom recovery? Wipe cache / dalvik cache? Are you using a custom rom that modifies the touch responsiveness / better accuracy when
pressing? Or better yet using a utility that changes governor settings of your phones CPU?
I have the same issue but it was only linked with governor CPU settings and UV OV / OC'ing the device.

No i am rooted only no rom or custom recovery just went back to stock and updated to 4.1.2 and re rooted and it still does the same thing.
It does it on stock rooted? Sounds like a hardware issue, especially since you unrooted and then rerooted and it still persists
Get an app that traces screen touch points to verify that the phone isnt detecting it at all

Ok I turned the developer option on to track touchs and sure enough when the screen touch "freezes" it is still responsive to touch it's just way off. And even though it is way off I can get it right about where I originally am trying to touch, and it still does respond. Also when it freezes, there are two touch spots and they are way off of where I am touching..! Any Ideas???
I am having an issue on 4.1.2 TW; has happened on both TPR and JellyBomb... when phone boots or I wake it up with home or power button, lockscreen is in landscape mode and unresponsive to touch. Have to pull battery and wipe cache/Dalvik. Is this just from multiview?
Using CWM with KT Kernel (it has happened on various KT builds, including 14MAR, 27MAR and 11APR).
Anyone know what's causing this?
EDIT: well, as usual, a quick PM to Kennyglass123 has solved the issue! I forgot to uncheck the "ripple effect" and I'm using AOSP lockscreen. Nothing like feeling like a schmuck to start your weekend!
Mucho thanks to Kenny, as per usual...
Alright, so a few months ago, I got my replacement s3 because my old one froze and heated badly.
This one has worked just fine up until recently. Recently, on stock rooted, mine has been acting up.
It will freeze when I'm in the browser, or other apps. It also froze when I went into camera and took a picture. It just got stuck. This is usually followed by "shell has been given super user permissions." Usually this is fixed by hitting the home button and clearing recent apps and reentering the app. But with the camera, and browser this isn't usual. I am use to it happening to the xda app when in messages sometimes, but it would force close on my evo too. The camera didn't even save the picture!
The only things I have done to stock rooted is switched the Ui sounds so there isn't any water noises, and turned the option to toggle shutter sound. What could it be?
I have had a bunch cases where I would have to hold power button down for 10secs/pull battery. Even though it isn't often, it is still annoying.
Stock rooted
Tweaked as mentioned above
MD4
Thanks in advanced..

I'm having the same issues even tho I'm stock 100% my phone is lagging, freezing and foreclose a lot more lately I think its the MD4 update just sux on side note for some reason every time there is a new phone out this happens to my old one like my evo 4g, when the evo 3d came out the same thing happened my evo 4g start to lag and freezing a lot more and when i got the evo 3d the samething happened again when evo 4g lte came out so not sure what's going on I think its done purposely by the carrier so we get sick of it and get the next big thing just guessing
I have this issue as well. It's random. I'm on stock, rooted MD4. The only thing I've changed is a couple sounds also(I hate the water/bubble sound). I'm not sure what causes it.
why not flash a MB1 ROM and see if the same things happen?
OdexBlue is MB1 still - might be a good test for you all to see if its indeed a MD4 issue.
here is a thread with the MB1 stock stuff
[ROM/RESTORE][!MD4 OTA!](5-10)Quick Return to UNROOTED STOCK WITH FLASH COUNT RESET
it still has a link to the older mb1 files
I've had no issues with MD4....smooth as can be IMO.
Granted, I got a new S3 like a month ago, but...
+1 on no issues with MD4, no problems with stock rooted or msgchubbz rom/kt747 kernal
message brought to you by my GalaxyS3
Ive heard people are lagging on MD4 as well. What kernel are you using? Try changing kernels. If that doesn't work, then try an MB1 ROM such as Hyperdrive. If that doesn't work, change ROMs and kernels (ex: Hyperdrive+KT747). Lets us know your results.

I had no problems with stock md4. Some lag sometimes, but not a deal killer. I really thought it was either a bad app or flaky connection. But not the md4 update itself. Moved to a custom rom with the md4 (tweaked) kernel and modem/firmware, and haven't had any problems...

I've had this issue for quite a while now.. at first I figured it was just a bug as my screen would no longer rotate but I've flashed and tried several different roms (Probam jelly bean, KitKat, and now on Temasek V28 KitKat) and have tried a few different Kernels such as Devil 2.3.2 and currently using the stock Temasek kernel.
I've downloaded some sensor apps and they list my sensors, but whenever I go to test them such as the accelerom3534, gyroscope, compass.. they don't work at all.. They just say "waiting for data"
The Proximity sensor still appears to be working though.
Anyone had this issue? My phone I don't think is damaged.. I've dropped it on some small falls in the past but it's been in a nice cover as well.
Small update:
Went back to a rooted stock 4.1.2 AT&T ROM, stock kernel, stock modem.. no change. Must be the hardware being broken

None of the apps will rotate, or say a picture in "gallery". Home screen I know was never designed to rotate.
Also just tried the 1-Click ODIN restore to unrooted stock rom, no difference Screen still does not rotate in any apps.
Sounding like a hardware issue...
Sorry to hear that ...g

the only other option I can suggest is to check and make sure all of your settings that effect screen rotation of cleared. Make sure you don't have smart stay on and you have screen rotation enabled in your settings. You may also want to turn them on if they are off and reboot your phone. Then turn them back off and reboot your phone again. If that doesn't fix it I would assume its a hardware issue.
Did you drop your phone recently or get it wet or damp. That's the only thing I have heard can cause the hardware issue.
bringing this thread back to life sense I couldn't do the same for my sensors
Hello there! So I have had a similar experience with the Note 2. It is not hardware related as far as I can determine because I swapped out the prox sensor on mine and it did not help. I feel that it is kernel related. On my previous Note 2, I flashed some kernel, prox sensor stopped working. I flashed back to stock AT&T and it worked for one call before quitting again. That's when I tried a new sensor and camera unit. The phone was under warranty so I triangled away and traded it. With the current Note 2, I flashed Sky note 9.3 and then after a while the prox sensor stopped working, I just thought okay with whatever maybe it's the kernel I'm using. I wanted to upgrade to Sky note Air, so I did. Got all settled in and decided to see if their provided kernel fixed my call sensor, no cigar. So I went into *#0*# and realized that none of my sensors were working. Tried using Devil Kernel, stock, stock ROM, all sorts of configurations and I can't revive any of them. Feeling very defeated.
