[ROM][JRO03C stock] TricksterRemixed [2012-07-29] - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Bored and annoyed as there was no original stock ROM that is good enough, I made a new JellyBean stock based ROM from these ingredients:
- JRO03C google yakju image
- Deodexed with xUltimate
- chainfire's SuperSU and su
- stericson's busybox
- imoseyon's leanKernel 4.2.0 stable
- Louder speaker output by using patched audio.primary.tuna.so by Peter Alfonso
- Modded SystemUI with battery percentage and Lock button in Notification panel (based on phone_user's works for bugless beast)
- Enhanced power menu by xIC-MACIx
- And last but not least an unreleased version (as of today) of Trickster MOD app
This ROM is likely an one-shot, until there's a new base from GG. I'm pretty sure there is no bug.

This is basically a ROM for me, thought someone will like it so I share anyway. One is welcomed to modded these in or use any available mods for stock deodexed ROM on this. I won't add things in anymore.

@bigeyes
I have a personal question to the author.
How do you to open Data and Wifi connection? This is my main "difficulty" if i use as a daily driver a pure Asop rom like yours which I am downloading now.
I prefer data and wifi toggles from cm10 anyday. Just wondering...
Really like your trickster app. Thnx

I dont know what the author does but personally I use Notification Toggles..
I prefer it even over any of the toggles I've seen built into the CM or AKOP roms.. the one killer feature to me is the ability to have a toggle that takes be directly yo the screen that shows the available access points without having to go into settings to connect to one I haven't already. After using it for just a couple of days I can't live without it.

I'm getting some battery drain.
It's only me?

With all due respect, that ROM used to includes craps that were removed by my advise. This was made mainly for me so I can wait for rasbean.

I am as well. Using BetterBatteryStats, it seems like Maps is causing the drain. I froze it with TB to see if the drain stops.
Edit: Looks like it is something else. "*backup*" was the process that appeared to be causing some partial wakelocks. Disabled Google backup and the battery is still draining. Will have to let my phone sit for awhile and get a good dump from BetterBatteryStat.

I installed your mod with the circle battery, very nice! But then I lost my data connection, and only when I installed newly the ar rom it came back... now I'm at a loss, reinstall it or not?

working for me
Admire the effort taking for this but when I use it on 4.0.1 AR it tends to screw up and I lose my notification bar and softkeys. Good thing I have a backup of System.apk. Usually a deodexed SystemUI shouldn't have this issue. Am I missing something?

The makers of BusyBox, Superuser, Solid Explorer and OTAUpdater for allowing me to include their apps in this ROM.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!
Flash with care! This ROM has been tested and should not brick or harm your device, however I am not to be held responible if it does!
You should probably credit anyone responsible for the extras so that this thread isn't closed.
And what extras are added? I'd love to an AOSP ROM with a power widget in the notification area.

Like butta!
I kind of miss some of the CM mods of CM10, but still. It's a great looking rom so far and there's no jitter or lag which was pervasive in CM. Nice work! I'll be looking for your updates for sure!
I think my only request would be the toggles in the notification drawer and a battery percentage mod. That being said, I'm sure I can find the latter around here somewhere.
Cheers!

I will add the battery percentage mod to my list!
Toggles looks like it might be hard to find out how to incorporate. I might just have to grab the CM 10 code and try to pull out the pieces that are related unless someone knows where there is a good tutorial.
I've been having problems with the native tethering (either USB or WiFi, but particularly the wireless) with any of the JB roms....this one doesn't seem any different for me....otherwise, seemed like a pretty smooth ROM.

Thanks for reporting this bug. This was also confirmed by Slim Bean beta testers.
This is a fix to flash in CWM (with wipe cache and dalvik) : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/57531734/voicemail_fix.zip
Enjoy.
How do I set short cuts on lockscreen? Sorry but I can't find it and weather

Dammit... Thanks... I've always liked slim except when the aokp toggles were added... That honestly made me jump ship :-/
But with the new 4.2 toggles... I think I can try this ROM again... I just updated the cm10.1 nightly this morning... Here comes the flashing addiction lol...

Early development I know but does this build have the highly decreased battery life seem to be found in almost all 4.2.x roms?

Nah. It's known that 4.2.x consumes more battery. I just wonder if any head way has been made to control it better.

I have similar battery life to 4.0 as well. The difference is something along the lines of 20 minutes of screen time. Idle is about the same in my case.
Some early 4.2 builds had a system process that got out of hand. Most if not all builds at this point have that fixed. 4.2 also eats battery for the first hour or so as well, since it tries to download your apps from Play Store. Once you get past that, it evens out to about the same.
thank u all for the new rom! downloading or even opening ur website is very slow here too. just got it downloaded ! it runs awesome for a beta ! Thank You !

mine is slightly worse after a few days of settling in
but still goes all day + on my 'normal' use...
fwiw
Actually battery is amazing on galaxy nexus on 4.2 Roms, you have to factor in that crespo4g batteries are pretty old and diminished if your using the same battery ever since your first purchase of your phone.

I have a hunch that it has more to do with the gnex and above having multiple processors vs the ns4g only having a single processor... I think this one has to work harder for the same tasks that a multi-core system would do with relative ease...
So an example would be a photosphere image... It might take around 3mins for my phone to process that image... The entire time running with the screen on and high frequency... Whereas the gnex might be able to do it in 1-2mins, essentially cutting the time in half and using much less "peak" power...
That's the only thing i can think of on why these phones don't do as well with +4.1... I could be way off but this is what i tell myself and it makes sense lol

What is ChameleonOS?
"Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button," (http://www.chameleonos.org).

Looks exciting, i'll give it a shot, what version of android are we looking at?
Thanks man, but what kernel is inside? Does it have random reboots?

3.0.72 kernel, I see no reboots, but this isn't my daily phone, so idk
looks good, I'm going to try!
Someone know if have the problem with heaset-aricular battery drain ¿ I will try this rom and later say how work
So far so good, though the Chameleon OS itself doesn't have many themes so you need to use MIUI or the other options they give. Haven't had any random reboots just some force closes. Like that it has 4.2.2 which has many awesome features so will see how that works with the themes. Good job OP in porting this to our phone, thanks.
This is looking great so far, liking it very much ...

I'm pretty sure it is kernel related... Coderz .62 and .64 kernels had a fix for the heat. I wish I knew more about it. I think the MIUI rom had the first 3.xxx kernel with the fix in it.
I believe elgin has a pretty firm grasp of the problem, but no time to find the fix and implement it:

If we flash the MIUI kernel you mentioned, will it fix the problem?

its not that simple. last i checked miui was on android version 4.1 point something. The ramdisk needs to be modified even before flashing. and even if that was changed, that's still a completely different kernel.
Don't mean to go off topic but the liquid smooth thread is closed and just wondering where to look for liquid updates if any come out.
