Need to find a screen unlock app - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
I have the galaxy nexus HSPA version with 4.1.1 and due to my Corp email security settings I no longer have the circle unlock option.
Major issue is that the phone sits in my pocket and even a small press of the volume or power button within the 10 minute timeout will cause a flurry of action while still in my pocket.
Anyone have this same issue and found a solution?

Try widget locker?

Are all the options for locking your screen, (pin/pattern) gone too?

+1 for Widgetlocker. Works flawlessly for me on Jelly Bean.

Yes everything but the full password option is gone for me. Damn Corp Security!

Security flaw? Lock screen

Noticed that SGN will unlock if certain apps with the 'heritage' style Menu button are open when the screen turns off.
The XDA app is one such example.
Phone can be unlocked by pressing the Menu soft button rather than using the correct Unlock Slider gesture.
I'm not currently using a pattern or face lock, so as a security issue its negligible, but has anyone else noticed a similar 'gap'?

Yes, but this only happens with slide to unlock which isn't exactly security

This had been noted before...
as joshnichols189 noted when the real security is active this doesn't unlock.
The only marginal concern is that it doesn't remain locked and your ass starts dialing
That's a good point.
Any 'true' ICS apps such as Google developed ones don't suffer from this.
Presume its a hangover for 2.x app compatability?
Back to a proper lock screen then...

My 3 dots are on the lockscreen when I lock the screen

It happens when I lock it from twitter. Maybe other apps as well, unchecked though. Here is a pick of the reproducible problem

The option dots. They hold no function when pressed

it's a bug in ICS that displays the menu buttons when on the lockscreen. it's not suppose to happen. most likely they'll fix it in an update eventually.
If u use ADW EX home launcher that 3 dot menu on lockscreen unlocks the phone by just pressing on it.

Only if you use slide to unlock.

It happens in WhatsApp too.

If I don't go back to home screen before I lock. I have the 3 buttons displayed. These seem to override the slide to unlock. This is not really an issue tho I suppose as slide to unlock isn't secure anyway

I assumed it was a feature. It only pops up on slide to unlock setting and I always use that instead of sliding when I have apps open.

But isn't slide to unlock supposed to be a more secure lock over a none lock to prevent accidental phone unlock in your pocket? That's the whole point of "sliding" to unlock, not "pressing".
If that really is a feature they should give us an option to disable it. But I still think its a bug.
How often is something in your pocket going to find those three little dots and hit that specific part of your phone to unlock it..?
Better yet.. how often is your phone screen even on when in your pocket?
This always happens when locking when you are in an app
Or in browser....sort off shortcut feature tap it and you are right back in the app that is open at the moment

I think u missed my point.
It defeats the purpose of "sliding".
Why not just have ONE unlock button instead of sliding and 3dots?, since both have the same function.
Isn't Android about choices? Couldn't I chose to tap the 3 dots vs sliding all the time?

Well, then I want my choice to disable that "feature".
this is a bug, even google has admitted it's a bug. why do you find it so hard to believe that?

That's what I said, I hope ppl joke when they say it's a feature. Otherwise its sad to see "unwise" individuals on XDA (no offense to anybody).
I know this bug might not bother many, but I really want stock Android to be more polished and not half baked.
I hope OTA update is coming soon with fixes for all these little/big bugs.

Why do you care so much? It doesn't matter if people think it is a bug or not if it is a bug it will get fixed. It doesn't make a difference if someone thinks it is a bug or not because either way it will be fixed if it is.

Certain apps bypass the lockscreen!

Stock Verizon G-Nex on ver. 4.0.2
Anyone else notice that when you have an app open that uses the menu button in the lower right corner next to the recent apps button'..................if you lock the screen with the app open, and later push the power button to unlock your phone..........the menu button remains on the screen and it will open the app if you press on it, without unlocking the phone!
This doesn't seem right.

I believe It only happens on the insecure slide to unlock. Its not great but tbh, its not really bypassing some lock down when anyone can just slide to unlock anyhow. Make sence?
Steve.

I agree! Use a PIN and see if the same happens.
This only happens on slide to unlock which isn't secure anyways.

I understand. The security isn't a big thing for me, but it seems odd that the menu button is active on the lock screen.
Just an observation.

No. The app devs. If they update their apps for ICS, its a non-issue.
Ever wondered why only some do it?
ADW has a huge issue with this.

Was gonna say, I don't see this issue with any google apps on 4.0.3.
Great! At least they are paying attention!
Now if we could get stock 4.0.3!

Home button lag?

Hi I currently own a galaxy nexus and I'm really missing my gs2. I am looking to get a gs3 and when I went to the mobile store I noticed that when pressing the home button from any open app there was a slight lag to get to home screen. Is this just normal for this phone or is the display model borked? I've own the gs2 and SBS and home screen button never was that slow at returning to the home screen. Any input would be nice before I purchase this phone.

Deactivate double pressing to launch svoice and wont be any lag.

^This
It's in S-Voice settings.
Oh SK its how the sgs2 was? Nice. Then I am getting it for sure. Been keeping up with the threads here and not much negative stuff . The gnex is nice but the volume is too low and WiFi and connectivity issues are killing the pure android experience. Updates aren't worth dealing with that. Even with custom Roms there are issues.

no way. I've run CM roms without S-Voice and it happens. it's a hardware thing. I got used to it with my SII.

I highly doubt that because I have run all types of ROMs and on any Samsung device when s voice is enabled there was always a lag. The note 2, the note 3, s3, s4. all of the forums have a thread just like this, and when 99 percent turn off s voice the lag goes way

Mine does it as well. Mine also does it when turning it off as well. Pressing the power button means waiting for a minimum 2 seconds for the phone to respond. I'm going to exchange mine since my original unit didn't have this problem. And no, its not any settings or apps causing this.
Mine doesn't do it, opens instantly every time whether I have widgets on or off but I don't have Voice unlock on.
Someone help me edit the commands for S-Voice. I'm looking to unlock the device with S-Voice, but can't see any options under ' Menu - Settings - Device - Lock screen ... ' I have enabled ' Wake up command ' and ' Voice Wake-up' under S -Voice Settings...
Where the heck do I find ' edit voice commands ' and ' lock screen options to add widgets ' ???
This is on my TMO [ stock, not rooted ] N3 ...
Help!
