Lockscreen pictures very washed out when using the 'Ripple' unlock... - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm sure most have noticed this. Any picture I choose for the lockscreen when using the 'Ripple' unlock effect is kind of blurry and really washed out. I'm assuming that it's because of the ripple effect overlay but it's a HUGE bummer for me. It really makes the lockscreen look dull. But I am so enamored with the ripple unlock.
Has anyone possibly found a way to remedy this? I have ended up using WidgetLocker in place of the stock lockscren because of this. While I like WidgetLocker, I'd like to use the TW lockscreen and get the icons and missed message alerts.
I know this probably seems so nitpicky but it never hurts to ask just in case someone has a workaround...
Thanks in advance...

When using a TW based ROM, I always use a lock screen wallpaper with lighter colors. The overlay isn't that noticeable this way. I'm pretty sure there isn't a way to get rid of it unless you disable the ripple effect.

I've noticed this too. My theory is that Samsung made it lower res or something so it would be smoother. The animations and stuff. Almost seems like the actual wallpaper is not as high resolution. Oh well.
I've never seen a fix or anything. I just use a live wallpaper anyway so no ripple effects for me, just reverts it to a normal ring lock. It would be nice though of someone figured out a good fix.

[Q] How to show lockscreen before PIN?

I'm trying out Touchwiz again after using AOKP for a while and I'm liking it, the only issue is how can I show the lockscreen before entering my PIN? I want my phone to be secure but I hate not having a seeing the actual lockscreen. Anyway around this? Also, does anyone know how to make the status bar clock font any smaller? It takes up way too much space.

nothing you can really do about it as far as the clock goes, maybe if you install a smaller font in the display section.
As far as lockscreen before pin, TouchWiz does not have that option, that was only on AOKP and CM9 roms.
If you don't mind a third-party solution, I just checked GoLocker, and it shows the swipeable lockscreen before you have to enter your PIN.
And I agree with abesgs2; your best bet is a new font for the statusbar time.
Maybe you could find a way not to display it through a ROM hack and instead install an app that displays the clock there, but I don't know anything about that.

[REQUEST] Old Ripple Lock screen

Hi, i was wondering if anyone can provide the "old" ripple effect lockscreen, ever since JB, there's a whitish tint on the left side of the lockscreen, which becomes noticable when using a dark lockscreen wallpaper. There's nothing wrong with my screen, when I unlock it or disable the ripple effect, the tint's gone :/

No tint here.
old ripple lock screen also has tint screen
the tint was on the right lower zone
in jelly bean the tint shifted to left lower zone
believe me
I had tested with both iCS & JB
it is especially significant with black wallpaper

No tint?
I attached 2 screenshots, first one with ripple enabled, second one with rippe disabled.
You can clearly see, there's a white tint to the left

so, there's no way to get rid of it?
Hello,
I think the following screenshot shows the issue very clear:
Normally, the wallpaIper is fully in black, without any stains. Is it possible to solve this problem?
I don't know
maybe some developer could develop a MOD to fix it
I don't also like that tint
coz I used to use black wallpaper
now I can't use black because of that tint

Just untick ripple
Got the same thing when moved to 4.1...
First time I thought that had a problem. Then, read that disabling ripple effect wouldn't show that stain.
Miss the ripple!

Shine on left side of lockscreen.

I know theres a way to disable it while still having the ripple effect because it was fixed on my old rom.
Does anyone know how to do this? I really love the watery effect. and this rom even does the ink with just your finger but the way the left side of the wallpaper is all bright and blurry looks horrible.

[Q] Change pattern lock look?

I really want to edit my lockscreen with a custom look, but still want security on my phone. So how can I change how to dots on the pattern look? Or am I able to have the slider then the pattern lock, without widgetlocker?
P.S I'm rooted with a Nexus 4 (4.2.2) running Xylon_mako-official-2.4-beta2
Oh, sorry I put this in the wrong thread. Oops

You can use zipthemer from the market for this. Just find the images you want to use and use that app to replace then. Are you just wanting to change the color of the circles for pattern lock? If so i have some colors i could upload...

I would prefer a more radical change to the lockscreen but the colours are still good. So yes please. That would be very helpful
What would be a "Radical" change? Layout changes are pretty much out since the only thing you can easily do is change the images themselves, so that leaves either color changes or putting new/random/crazy ones instead.
Basically find/make the images you want, then replace them via zipthemer, or manually inserting them into the apk with 7zip, if you want to start to get your hands dirty.
The main ones are the 9 grid points, the dark circle under your finger, the light green and red circles, and the red/green direction arrows.
I like the setting that removes the dots completely. Jellybro has it, probably most roms do.
