Won't hurt a thing. My device tends to enjoy it more when I'm running latest bl+latest radio+latest jb, than when I was running ics bl+radio on latest jb.

I prefer the latest one it gives me better signal. The older one is good too.
Give it a try, if it's no good for you just reflash the old one.
Thanks for the replies.
Would you be able to guide me on how to flash those 2?

Get the XXLF1 radio from the radio thread.
Get the LC03 bootloader from the bootloader thread.
Reboot your device in CWM and flash the zips (if you downloaded the CWM-flashable zips) or reboot your device in fastboot mode, plug into a PC, and use fastboot to flash the images, by typing:
fastboot flash radio <name-of-radio>.img
fastboot flash bootloader <name-of-bootloader>.img

So can someone help me out with this..and let me know whats the current firmware is for the international Galaxy Nexus?
I just bought one locally and it's on firmware 4.0.2 and when I check for an update...I get the message that the the system is currently up to date.
4.0.4 is the latest. its best to flash takju fresh from here. this way youll get the latest OTA updates straight from Gooogle.

I have the International Galaxy Nexus...So do I flash the one entitled:
"Factory Images "takju" for Galaxy Nexus "maguro" (GSM/HSPA+) (with Google Wallet)" ?
If not, which one do I flash...and how do I flash it?
Sorry for all the questions
yes, download that one
download the android-sdk from here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
when you install that, run the sdk manager and download the android SDK tools and android SDK platform tools and the in the tools section (first two items). and maybe also the Google USB drivers if needed
once thats downloaded and installed, extract the yakju image files you downloaded into the platform-tools folder
open a command prompt inside the same folder and type the following: (do each line one by one.)
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primela03.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxla02.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-takju-imm76i.zip
once thats done, it should start booting into a factory restored 4.0.4 takju build

I had the yakjuxw and flashed it to yakju. I received the past OTA updates just fine, but when I received the message saying there's a new update for my phone, I went ahead and downloaded the 130Mb -140Mb size update and when it asked to restart my phone, it installed maybe a third of the way and the the little android went on his back and "collapsed" and I had to take out the battery to restart my phone. I tried it again and the same thing happened.
What could be wrong? :crying:

In order for the OTA to work properly you have to have stock recovery, radio, bootloader, and system files. You can't have modified anything except an unlocked bootloader.

so what you're saying is I have to re flash yakju?
I restore my phone to factory settings first?
I had yakjuxw also, it comes with a different radio. flashing to yakju (or takju) is not enough. you have to flash the radio also. look for efrant's post in how to do it and get it, it's in these forums, that's what I followed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
sorry, just re-read the question, what you describe happened to me when I deleted the recovery folder from the update file. The unmodified file updated fine. But then you have to root and install clockwork recovery again, which is fairly easy too.
Another issue I had prior to that was when I tried to flash the update and I didn't realize that the file didn't finish copying to the phone. check file size it should be around 147mb I think. I hope one of these tips help!

That is because you do not have the XXLA2 radio installed. The last update did NOT update the radio, so it didn't check to see if you had the XXLA2 radio installed and, hence, did not fail.
I had exactly the same problem, however as everyone is saying; Just flash the xxla2 radio again and the problem is solved!

Well first of all, I definitely don't recommend you using toolkit. Using it has higher chance of bricking your phone.
It seems like you might have to boot into the clockworkmod recovery and from there, flash the zip. It's faster than the way and also doesn't give you those kind of headache

I've used the toolkits and fastboot on 3 different gnex's and not had problems either way. If you fastboot incorrectly as well it's possible to brick your phone right?

well yeah if you fastboot the wrong recovery, but if you typo the command, it errors and wont flash it.
The OTA failed not because of your recovery but because of /system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl not being stock or missing.
You can either find that file and push it back and then run the OTA hoping that's the only file you modified.
Or flash the stock JB image following the link Zepius posted in the 2nd post.
I used this thread to help me update to JB when the OTA wasn't showing up for me (I was impatient).

OP: And as El Daddy said you (or one of your root apps) prob changed something related to your keyboard, so you need to replace that file with the stock one.

Well if you're only unlocked, and not rooted, have custom recovery/ROM or anything, you are completely stock. Just unlocked bootloader... OTA has nothing to do with unlocking bootloader. Also root doesn't stop OTAs. Just FYI... Only flashing custom ROM, custom kernel or custom recovery or a change to a system partition stops the OTA.

Yes you can use that guide for toroplus (i.e., Sprint) devices as well if you have the images. But since you don't have the userdata image (and therefore you skip that step), you may need to boot CWM and wipe /data and /cache, but only if you experience a bootloop.
So in recovery I have to flash each image? That's the part I don't get.

Code:

Yep but to flash etc you gotta have the img to flash i was just looking for the zip. I know how to adb stuff. Indeed gnex toolkit is bundled with all recovery or link to recovery.
