Anyone getting a parser error when trying toget an update on their notifications? ....I'm using regular facebook I believe...not the one from htc.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
YES! And it's driving me crazy. My notifications page hasn't been able to refresh for a week now - just giving me an error stating it's unable to retrieve data, etc. I get a similar error message whenever I scroll down the news feed awhile. I am a newbie, but I have been reading up and it seems that Facebook for Android is just utter CRAP. I use Facebook a lot and am very disappointed with paying $400 for a phone and not being able to do something that was SO EASY on my iPhone. I use the browser sometimes for Facebook, but what a pain! I still don't get alert notifications - I get my Gmail alerts first! ACK!
Search Facebook in the Android Market and install.. it should let you. Fixed my friends phone last night with the same issue a few days after he bought it new.
Just make sure you hit refresh because the app will still be open, so afte rinstall or before install, kill it and then go back.
Im getting 2 diffrent notifications for 1 text message ! i have tried disabling notifications in my default message app and still another one comes up and it says 1 unread text message then when i view it it still on the notification bar but now says no unread messages... anyone know whats going on? i really hate getting 2 tones for 1 message!! pleasse help!
Sounds like you are using a 2nd text application like Handcent.
Both applications will indicate a new message, Android and Handcent (or whatever). You have to open up the Android application and disable notifications.
Are you rooted, if so, I recommend using Titanium backup and freezing the stock messaging app. I think the free one will freeze/thaw apps , but if you are rooted the paid version is a must have in my opinion
You have to go into the stock messaging app and hit menu > settings > and uncheck the notifications.
i did all that i figured it out it was the stupid beautiful widget pack2!! grrrr!! but thanks for your guyses help!

kinda like my wife telling me to do something, once is never enough making her very annoying...lol
Friend just got a new Samsung, and we installed Handsent... She was getting 3 notifications for each sms... Took 30 minutes to get it worked out.
Glad to hear you got it fixed.
Hey guys,
I have noticed, that sometimes my SMS alert doesn't always sound. Does this perhaps happen when you are in a conversation, and leave it open and jump right back to the home screen. Therefore the conversation is still "open" on the phone, and hence it doesn't sound? If I go back to my message widget, the new message shows up then.
Anyone else had this?
Go to aplications>mange aplications>all>sound set>clear data
And then set notification sound you like ... tell me if this helps you

Will give it a try
That's not fixed it.
Does it have something to do with the conversation still being open in the message app?
Are you on Android 2.2.1, software version 1.72?
There is a known issue with sms notifications on that version if you are. Best fix is using sms popup from the market to handle your notifications instead of the system app.

Yes, think that's what my current ROM is based on. I will be updating it later today though Thanks for the info
i had the same problem also in kitkat
outlook i have to always click REFRESH to recieve my emails
in skype i rarely get notified when somebody wrote me
same in tinder
in kitkat i installed pnf root fixer
and immidiatly i recieved thousand pushs which were missed for example also from huffington post or weather apps
the pnf no root does not help at all
so what causes the problem and how to repair it-
1 small additional problem i found in 5.0 is that my wifi password does not save and i always have to enter it again
otherwise what i notice is that battery is empty after 6h in kitkat it lasted 12h
its a big issue here . hope you guys can fix it before christmas

As far as I know this problem is an Android problem.
I too have delay on push notifications. Like ~8minutes tops.
PNF root is the only way to maybe fix the problem..
Dont know where else to post this i dont see any Iqoo neo 3 forum so this is the closest but its running the same iqoo ui software it seems, but i tested this out i have the iqoo neo 3 and im on t mobile service shows great but with wifi on if i leave my phone sleep for like 30 mins to an hour or even less sms dont go trough or calls, i tested with 5g off and wifi on it still does the same thing, only when i turn off the wifi my sms and calls works great they all come trough all the time so far it seems. So does anyone have this issue with the iqoo 3 or if anyone has the iqoo neo 3 let me know Please this is a beautiful phone 144hz if i cant trust the phone on wifi for my calls to go trough then whats the point , i guess ill have to leave wifi off for now but let me know anyone please. I might have to go to Vivo directly to get this issue fixed asap, thanks.

And what did they say? The solution will help others who have this problem.
I have the same issue with delayed notifications, could you please provide more information? I only receive push notifications when WIFI is on.
If you have issue with notifications make sure you checked app permission in baterry setting "background power consumption" . My mesanger notifications didn't worked good (just sometimes worked) same with gmail and this was problem solver now geting notification every time.

Already did and the problem persists, gmail is working good because I think is whitelisted by ROM but Outlook for Android, Linkedin, Google Pay or Pay Pal are not and it's impossible to receive any notification from them on 4G/5G
