Its in the Market as SetCPU for Root Users; I advise against profiles (they destroy the battery), just use the ondemand gov instead

BaconBits is in the dev forum here as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834565. I believe people have also had success running Pershoot's kernel (also in the dev forum---this one is updated constantly). Not sure why your searches didn't turn up anything though. Someone asks about how to overclock the stock ROM every couple of weeks...
As far as SetCPU goes, the dev offers it free for XDA users (just search for it to find the main thread with the downloads). If you want to pay for the donation version on the Market, even better though. You can also CPU Tuner. I think there are a few others as well.
I was using the stock odexed rom (one in the development section, I believe its the same as the stock rom with a few tweaks) with Pershoots latest kernel . Talk about fast, performance wise that was the fastest rom I ever used (backed up by benchmarks). CPU performance was greater than CM7 and GPU performance was on par with CM7. I would contact Pershoot first and find out before using his kernel on a stock rom though, some have had boot loops while other have had success.

Oh ok. I just saw you mentioned that you had already tried everything in the dev section but nothing worked (which seemed odd since BaconBits was in the dev forum here and should have been exactly the same one as on the CM forum). And I'm not exactly sure how you are searching but the first link when I searched for SetCPU worked fine for me. What SetCPU forum you are talking about?

Are you sure you are actually searching the forum as opposed to the main XDA page? You need to search the forums if you actually want to find relevant threads as opposed to news articles (there is a search box at the top of the page). Each sub-forum and thread also has a search button (for instance, you can search only within the G2 forums for stuff).

That unreadable file is actually an APK. APK's are the application files used by Android. If you transfer the file to your phone, you can use a file manager to "open" the file, starting the install process. You will also need to enable "Unknown sources" in your Settings (under Applications) if you haven't already. FYI, this is sometimes referred to as the side-loading of apps (because you are doing it outside of the official Market).
EDIT: Nevermind, saw you got it.

This is what happens when your thread is titled "question". Not very compelling, so you're probably not getting many lookers.
EDIT: I stand corrected...I see there have been 121 views. Perhaps no one knows the answer. The sarcasm probably won't help.
Are you rooted? Having force close issues? Your problem description is lacking a lot of detail because having a problem is very different from explaining what your problem is. So I would say if you answered yes to my two questions, try a fix permissions in either recovery or rom manager. If not, please describe your issue with as much detail as possible so we can help you.
Eeeeeeyyyyiks, sorry guys, major lack of info.
Rooted, kernel 2.6.32 hydra-ocuv-v10 on a stock Rom. Newest radio version (i think) I keep 3 radio versions handy because certain ones work better in certain places...?
The nova will force close right after the download then go back to the download right after I start the app back up.

Did you buy it or pirate it?
Downloaded it from 4shared. Probably why it does that, lol! It's done the same thing with other games that I've dnlded as well.

Yea pirated games sometimes don't work if they require an external download. I tried this with a similar game.
I did not come up with this fix. I just read it in a thread and posted an individual thread for it. Thanks to whoever originally found this!
Download:
Fasterfix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5Eb3VibGUuRmFzdGVyRml4Il0.
GpsFix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hbmRyb2lkbGFiLmdwc2ZpeCJd
Now run fasterfix and choose your location. Now open GpsFix and let it get a fix. This works best outside. Now it should be fixed.
Video how to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kz1pUDVZ90&feature=youtube_gdata_player
EDIT: both apps can be uninstalled after without losing gps lock. They are just used to fix gps and won't be needed after.

Sadly it doesn't help..
Tried this process.. the fasterfix allows me to change the server to Asia server.
GPSFIX tries to lock the fix, but can only find 4 satellites within the 15 minutes timeout, and it seems its not enough for a fix.
Might be the CM9 based rom I'm using
This worked on an older rom for me and I haven't lost quick gps lock through numerous roms. Ibdid have to go outside and do gps fix twice, but after it locked its been quick lock through 20+ rom flashes since. Some people have said it worked form them and some it didn't work for. You might be one of the unlucky ones.

Thanks for the posts. Running Calkulin's ICS. I tried the methods above and also the ones cited on the forum where you push a file to /System/lib/hd. I changed the permissions as required. Still, no lock. Worked fine on GB.
Anyway, thanks for the posts and knowing that right now for some folks, it just doesn't work.

I got it working. I found a post later that pointed to two apps that, when applied in order, made it work. They are, in order,
FasterFix
GpsFix
I ran each app, in order. The second one took a fee minutes.
Hope this helps.
Mike
I downloaded the FasterFix last night, changed the server location to North America. Then I ran the GPS Status app (available on the market) and got very quick locks on 10 satellites. I just installed the Blu Kuban Rom yesterday and wanted to make sure I was getting GPS to work. Good luck.
A+ for the info
Worked on my infuse running ics. Thanks.
Hi Everyone,
First I would like to say how much I love Frosty JB and that this thread is only to help make it better.
I would like to report some issues that I have seen and see if anyone else has had this as well.
1. I was getting random reboots saying invalid SIM
2. Screen would flicker when Hardware overlays was not disabled.
3. In ICS there was an option on the setting of call for configuring the Native SIP this has disappeared
4. Camera shutter not making the shutter sound anymore
Can't wait for the next release V4 of Frosty.:good::good:
If anyone else is having other issues I would like to hear about it.
THANKS AGAIN

And now why you post here about stuff u were guided by android authority? +if you have issues with a rom you post on that roms thread if u really want ur issues to be solved. There is a fix for every single "issue" u mention but i guess android authority has not posted the guide yet

Alright. Best way to be helpful is pm the rom's dev about bugs you find.
Once you get your 10 posts you will get better support posting in the rom thread. Until then just do what you can like now.
Couple things you can try, redownload the rom and reflash. Make sure youve backed everything up and factory reset before flashing. This will give you a clean install and rule out any compatability issues with apps or data.
If you are still having sim problems use Odin to flash back to UVALH2 stock and if it still has issues you may need to exchange the sim or even the phone.
I dont think 1. has been a common issue so i doubt its the rom. The rest are likely related to it being a jb leak. Youll find out faster for sure by scanning through the last 10-15 pages in the thread.
Good luck with it!

1. Don't think that is a ROM issue (might be your hardware). But best bet is to to fully wipe everything and do a clean install them wipe cache dalvic and fix permissions reboot and wait 10 minutes then reboot again.
2. Flicker comes from the kernel (uvli6/uvli7) it has much better battery than uvli8 so we accept rare flickers. Easy fix by disabling hw overlays (video wont work while disabled though).
3. Idk but i think that is just how it is on jelly bean. Nothing to do with this ROM but literally all jelly bean roms.
4. This is a known issue with acid sound mod not the ROM. You can delete the acid sound mod find the apk with a file manager or titanium backup.
Gotta use the search option my man!

My GPS will not lock on at all. I just returned from Afghanistan so I haven't used the phone in quite some time.
I've tried GB, ICS and now a JB rom, all with proper modems but no luck. I've let GPS status run for 30min straight and it won't lock on.
Is there something I need to wipe to fix this? Any idea what's going on?

If you haven't flashed a Full One-Click JB (GB27) try that. I had issues with the early JB builds (even stock ones). The one-click - full wipe, got my GPS working after a long and aggrevating fight. (I acutally use my phone as, well a phone. And for GPS to get to my clients who phone me.)
I use the GPSstatus app to check lock - free in the market.
I posted something here that may help too.
Good luck and welcome home bro.
