Hello All..
I could use some help here. I have the Galaxy S2 (Epic Touch 4G) and would like to have all of the STOCK .png files available so that I can change app icons when needed. Is there a standard .zip file out there for something like that? How about S3 Stock Iconset?
Thanks in advance for all your help on this. I have searched high and low, with no luck, yes - even this forum.
Sincerely,
Kevin

Maybe you can get the Galaxy s2 icon set in i9000 (Galaxy s1) forums, you know, at that time, you wanted to have your Galaxy S like a s2!
Thanks...

If not possible can someone please rip out all the apps, widgets and touchwiz 4 related items from a dump of the Samsung galaxy S II?
I want to make my Galaxy S 2.3.3 look and feel more like it
No , different hardware different drivers ,
you can install TW 4 and the live wallpapers or buy an SGII
i dont think it will be long before someone ports it to the SGS 1.
it may not be an exact clone, but im sure in time the dev's will try their best.

I have a SGS 2 but I wouldn't want it ported to my SGS 1..
I want to get as far away from stock on both phones..
I ported the SGS2 theme to my SGS1 only the theme not the rom
OP can always try to install the S2 rom and report back on what happens and how far it boots .

Im not taking a risk because I can't buy a new phone for another year if something goes wrong. Besides I tried this with my Omnia II (Omnia 7 ROM) and didn't work out. The guys at the service center say that the processor "rusted" because of "water".

I am talking about the stock theme from the SGS2

It will probably happen but I doubt the results will be too great considering how much more powerful the S IIs are

Can a samsung galaxy s II rom run on samsung galaxy s?
My friend one day ago has flashed the firmware from S2 in our galaxy s and the device stopped working. No reaction at all!! I try with the jig the device in download mode to set but nothing happens! Of course he didn't use the EXT4 pit. I don't know if this matters (in my opinion not) but S2 has another hardware other drivers. Now the telephone is at the service center from Samsung!
Don't try to flash the firmware ''I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100OXXKDC_HOME" with odin with or with out ext4 pit. you will break your phone!!!
jnks123
your friend bricked his phone because he flashed the "whole" firmware that includes the Galaxy S II bootloader which is not compatible with Galaxy S. i have a friend who flashed a Captivate rom on his Galaxy S and ended to have the same result as your friend.
you can try to extract files from Galaxy S II and flash everything except boot.bin and sbl.bin
i am not sure about zImage.
but anyway if it is not working you will not end with a bricked phone unless you install Galaxy S II's boot.bin and sbl.bin.
i'll try this when i'll get my phone from service...

Yeah thats what I wanted
The SGS 2 rom can be run on the SGS but it will have to be ported ..
I doubt if it would be laggy as we have already overclocked our SGS to over what the SGS 2 is anyway lol...
The story above the guy that flashed the stock SGS 2 on his SGS is crazy beyond belief.....really ...so many reasons why it didn't work ...jesus ...Im sort of lost for words..
I really like my SGS 2 but Im still using my SGS until the devs get the chains off it
Hi I was wondering if it were possible to change the lockscreen wallpaper and all the fonts like you could on the galaxy s2?
It is not possible stock ICS. Try an app like Widget Locker or something.
Also, I recommend not mentioning the Galaxy S2 here lest you be verbally assaulted by Nexus fanboys. I say that from experience.
thanks for the heads up!!

Hey guys new guy here
So I have a Samsung galaxy tab 7.0 plus, great little tablet I love it and after days of Googling I finally got it rooted (thanks to a post on here).just wondering if there's any custom roms for this beast,I would really love to get rid of stock honeycomb I like it but don't really want to wait for Samsung to throw out there's updates(still sad over no ics for my i9000)
And my other question is I read some where that there's now Odin support for the tab plus anyone know if this is true to?
Thanks in advance

I have been browsing around for a ported keyboard from the S III for my SP GNEX and have not had any luck. Has anyone else seen one or can this be ported over? I love the style and all the options it has on the S III. Thanks for the help!!
BUMP for visability... Hoping someone with knowledge will see this. There is some interest as this has been viewed many times.

It may not be possible but I cannot question that. Anyway like said above, I'm in for trying new things too.
Bump means or basically is letting people get aware of this topic by bumping it to the front/top. Its fine to do once every couple hours or so many over day by one person. Although if others help bump it makes it equally easier.

I will love to try Samsung keyboard if possible

Threads are displayed in the forum by most recent. So whenever someone replies the thread goes back to the top of the thread list. So a "bump" back to the top.
I love keyboards and thus I support this. Samsung really integrates their stuff together like Sense... so I don't think its as easy as ripping the apk. Typically with past HTC IME keyboards had to be flashed through recovery to include all the proper files and placement.

I don't know much about these stuff, but can't somebody with galaxy s3 can just take out the apk of the keyboard?

Why Samsung keyboard ? Samsung English keyboard is really ****ty which could not do simple typo correction. The best was consistently lousy from galaxy s2 to galaxy s3 ...
Try typing this sentence with Samsung keyboard
" Samsung keyboard always stupid ! " , compare this to android stock keyboard.

I've been looking everywhere for an S3 keyboard port. Was hoping it was in the S3 Touchwiz addon pack, but see barely any mention of it.
I love the "handwrite" feature built in .. whether I'd use it or not
Madphone, the maker of the S3 addon port would probably be the best candidate to ask about this-- if he reads this or if anyone wants to hit him up.
There was actually a huge improvement from the SII & SIII keyboards.
I am an avid swype user but Samsung has integrated a swype like function into the keyboard. Also the handwrite feature is something I'd like to have.
Thanks for the input everyone. Hopefully we can keep this near the top and get this going!

Actually to people coming from Samsung devices in the past, they tend to like it better than the stock keyboards...

Bump... It's been a while since this has been up. So hoping there is an update. Anyone?
god....whats with all the whining? I thought this would b simple....y cant sum1 just download the samsung stock rom n extract the kb?
Title says it all, and I've tried googling it but every result came up with people getting soft keys on their SGSIII, I saw a thread the other day where someone recreated them on the GNex, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, could someone point me in the right direction?

That's not a touchwiz deal is it? Touchwiz is a Samsung's overlay on Android.
